You do need to test phosphates as if they increase you will get hair algae. |

| Answer: | So in my experience this thing monitors nitrates from .05 up to 4ppm So that's the lowest end of the spectrum, it's assuming you've already gotten nitrates down from 20ppm or something down to the single digits which is 'low range' so essentially I think this means it doesn't do high range and the highest 'range' is 4ppm. HOWEVER I started at 40ppm and it got my tank down to .05 ppm in a week. So even though it doesn't test high range that's not really necessary anyways, if you dose it right you'll be at .05ppm |
