Answer:	I originally got the 4 outlet one and it's pretty quiet, I use 3/4 of the outlets. It's pretty quiet and nice control over general flow of air. Liked it so much I got the 8 outlet one but only a day after setting it up the noise is bothering me. The noise is from inside and not so much the unused outlets, I'm using 4-5 currently but got the extra outlets for later use. I am really sensitive to vibrations and the 8 outlet one is making me feel sick in the same room, even with it set on a thick towel. I wish it was nearly as quiet as the 4 one...

Answer:	I have a 55 gallon and it works well, I also have a 40 gallon with a smaller pump and it works well in my 55 also. I think it would work just fine in the 100. Just be advised that they are very noisy, they really should change the name of whisper.

Question:	What is the life expectancy of these pumps? Is it normal to have to replace an air pump every year or two
Answer:	I realize this question is several years old, but still relevant. I just checked and I purchased this air pump on August 28, 2016 and it's been running flawlessly for the past 3+ years. They won't last forever b/c there's rubber diaphragms that vibrate. But you should expect to get about 5 years out of them. I'm hoping to get 10 years out of mine. I will tell you that water intrusion is a leading cause of early air pump failure. A lot of people don't realize that whenever the pump turns off (daily or power failure) the aquarium will try to push water back up the air line inside the tank to equalize the water pressure. If that water equalizes fast enough (surges) it will make it over the lip of the tank and will create a siphon and fill the air pump with water. Now when the pump comes back on it will try to pump compress water (which isn't compressible) so the rubber diaphragm will severely stressed - even rupture eventually. So always install anti-siphon valves in the air line. They are VERY inexpensive and will prevent this from happening. I use two on each air line (in case one fails). Clean and test them once a year (most of them unscrew). To test them just connect them backwards one at a time and ensure no air comes out.

Answer:	Should be no prolem. Mine is 10 feet away and puts out plenty of bubbles. So 25 feet away should still be no porblem, just might not put out the same amount of pressure as much for air bubbles. Iam still it will work just fine.

Answer:	If you're thinking of using this for a pond filter, I suppose you could rig something up, but it probably wouldn't be very effective. Its documentation says, "Max flow quantity of Pump: 160 liter/hour". That's very low, and that's at max sunlight. On cloudy days it would be less, and it would be zero at night.

Answer:	The tubing I'm using is labeled 1/2" OD, 3/8" ID and it fits snugly. I believe OD stands for Outer Diameter, and ID stands for Internal Diameter.

Answer:	I think this is just the pump- may have had some tubing i dont remember or care since i only use the silicone kind- It's not the cheapest pump out there for sure, but it is the best: virtually soundless, and awesomely powerful. i would by one again in a heartbeat- in fact I bought this as a backup. i will never by another kind. i would suggest getting an air control valve-, check flow, and silicone tubing its a more expensive option, but well worth the $$$. I got tired of clogged airstones- don't use them any more

Answer:	I had one on my outdoor pond in western Washington state, the pump itself was under cover but not completely enclosed. It ran 24/7/365 for over 5 years. Started getting louder a few weeks ago, and now has stopped working. I'd say yes, it is okay for outdoor use and I am on here buying another one of these pumps today.

Answer:	Should be fine. I'm using it on a 260 gal tank (that also has 2 x 2260's) to get a little extra agitation at the surface. I've got the stones near the bottom of the tank and the air flow is plenty good. If you need more detailed help I'd recommend searching for a well established forum as opposed to Amazon answers.

Answer:	My tetra whisper hummed pretty loud. The Eheim 400 has more of a low buzzing sound. I keep in the fish tank stand cabinet and cannot hear it at all with the doors closed. Hope this was helpful.

Answer:	I've never been able to split more than 4 without running a commercial pump - those are very loud - we are talking 60 to 70 decibels, metal exterior with visible heat sinks, just so you know what we are looking at. However, I've run multiple tanks with just one of those pumps - basically a whole fish room with just one of those pumps. So if you are tired of chasing down multiple pumps and blah blah, it might be time to get a commercial pump. But they are loud (and powerful). I split maybe 15 off it, and just let the excess air flow out.
Question:	Is this pump 10w or 4w, in most places i see 10w but there are also couple places that say 4w
Answer:	It says 10w on bottom of pump. Been owning pumps for 50 years this one is the best . Vary quiet I got 7 air stones 2 foot down working well, can hardly hear it running . Now it all about how long it lasts? Good luck
