Answer:	I think it does. It makes be a few points off, not sure, but our salt reader went out on our pool and was going to cost a boatload of money. Our pool guy recommended getting a meter. Since I keep our salt in a range of 2900-3400ppm I am not too concerned if it is perfect so I haven’t tested it. I am pleased with this. Serves me well.

Answer:	Yes, you can easily measure 2500 ppm. In fact one can measure ppm of 9000 easily. I was able to measure ppm of about 9500. But once the ppm of the salt solution exceeds 10,000, the salinity checker display went blank and was not able to read anything. Note that the instrument is rated to measure a ppm of 9999.

Answer:	This device measures conductivity and converts to % salt content and different salts will have different conductivity concentration ratios. In theory it would measure other salts but you should calibrate with distilled water as the zero and a 10% standard of the salt you are measuring and use a correction factor if needed.
