Answer:	I have the regular sticks, not thin, and they are not crunchy and do not get sharp edges. My dogs chew on them and the edges get quite soft and gooey. I would t hesitate giving the regular 6 inch bullies to a senior. The thins may be brittle. And they still Have odor. But not horrible

Answer:	Don't know if they would stain carpet. I have dark wood flooring. Have not noticed staining in light beige dog bed. As for size, I have a toy poodle. Don't have experience of large breed puppy. Sorry can't be more helpful.

Answer:	This happened just 2 days ago. My 62lb pit swallowed a few pieces and he wasn't able to pass them. The next day after eating one, he puked 5 times. I took him to the vet and they did and xray to show that it caused a blockage. They recommended the ER. After all the puking he was severely dehydrated and shaky so they put him on water treatment and we waited it out. All is good now but it was definitely not cheap. At the end if cost me about 1400 plus my entire day and night on friday. I'm sticking to rubber kong chews with frozen treats or hard nylabones

Answer:	Hi Jakline, it depends on how young he/she is. It varies from breed to breed. If your baby has strong teeth that can chew on bones, they should be fine. For most breeds this happens around 10-12 weeks. Then at this point, it is great because puppies love to chew and this will definitely keep him busy.

Answer:	Hello, our USA crunchy bully sticks for dogs are baked at a slightly higher temperature. They are a high-protein single ingredient "treat", rather than a chew. Our traditional ones are a bit more solid on the ends. Customers who have dogs with GI issues report report their dogs can tolerate the crunchy bully sticks a lot more. This is due to them having less moisture. Moisture makes them chewy, but it also is what can cause them to have a pungent smell. If you are sensitive to smells, you would prefer the crunchy bully sticks over the traditional ones.

Can you send me a photo so I can see if someone at our office put the wrong labels on the printer? 214.226.2781. We expanded our product mix to include much more than bullys, thus we print our labels in-house now. Labels are more generic to accommodate elk, turkey, chicken, etc... however, we bought two sets of labels since we plan on adding new items that are globally sourced, like sweet potatoes from Canada. These will have labels with no American flag and they will not say "Made in USA."

Answer:	Hello, thanks for your question about our 6-Inch Monster/Jumbo 4PK bully sticks. They average 1.8-2oz each, so they are typically 2.5 times the size of a 6-Inch Standards which only average .7-.8oz. I say typically because our batches on Standards varies. Current standards we are shipping (Feb 2018) are a bit larger .95-1.1oz because we are upgrading customers to mostly thicks since our standards came in tiny (.6oz) so we are preferring to sell these as "Thin." Some brands don't care, they just ship what they get and the weights will drastically different every time because those are the cards they are dealt. We go above and beyond to deal with drastic weights. We hand weigh each all sticks as they come in and always make sure the only customers that get pencil-thin sticks are those that want them. The Angus sticks are also typically denser. So even if they were the same size in girth, they would weigh more and typically last a bit longer. Lastly, another difference is the smell. The Angus sticks will never have an odor. If anything they might have a light hickory smell since they are dehydrated in an over with real hickory wood. The Traditional Standard sticks do vary from batch to batch-- from very low odor to moderate odor. Hope this helps :)

The very thin bully sticks we had been offering during the holidays have not been available lately, but we do have regular 6" petite sticks that will be back in stock soon. Question:	Any chance any of your products come from Chinese sources
Answer:	Howdy, thanks for your question about Sancho & Lola's Closet dog products. None of our edible products are Chinese sourced, they are made in the USA. Our black angus bully sticks and tendons are truly special as they were custom made for us in Nebraska in a human-grade USDA commercial kitchen. The tendons still have good availability but the bullys, unfortunately, we cannot get another batch of these, so you should try these while we still have them. We are sold out of most sizes, but we do have a few cases left of 6-inch thick and 12-inch thick. They are odor-free. Second in line of uniqueness, is our odor-free charcuterie style bullys. These are sourced from all over the US. They are made by a professional chef trained in the 'charcuterie method' of preparing meat, so they look a bit different on the ends than most bullys because they have been dehydrated, not baked. They too are made in a human-grade USDA commercial kitchen. Human-grade preparation is why both the aforementioned bullys are odor-free. There is a lot of misinformation floating around online about odor-free sticks. Some manufacturers may use harsh chemicals to make a bully odor-free, but, unless they are idiots, bleach is not one of them. (Bleach would ruin the delicate tissue of a pizzle, not clean it.) Our odor-free manufacturers just use lots of cold water. The caveat with odor-free is that some dogs prefer their bullys with some odor. If your dog needs some odor to be interested, our Traditional bullys (which are not odor free) would be a better fit. We source from all over the USA as well, but it has been a huge challenge to keep them in stock. Due to the growing scarcity of USA sourced bull pizzles and our continuous out-of-stocks on them, we will soon be sourcing them from all of North America, but they will still be made and inspected here. In 2019 we may be adding some new products from areas that make sense for specialized production - like Yak milk chews from Nepal, lamb pizzles from New Zealand and sweet potatoes from Canada. Nothing from China but our toys. Our toys are custom made for us in China using materials that are safety tested for use on baby toys. We would have to charge twice the price for them if they were not. Very few customers would pay over $20 for a plush material toy that is easy for dogs to rip up, plus, we donate a lot of our toys to rescue fundraisers, so they need to be affordable for the average consumer who attends these events. You got more than you asked, but we hope the clarification about odor-free helps other customers. We do get occassional emails asking if we use bleach to make them odor-free. I also wanted to make sure you know that black angus beef bullys are almost gone for good. You want to try one bag first. If your dog likes them, then get another bag soon, while we still have stock. They would make a very unique gift for the holidays. Especially someone who has a rescue since we have supported rescues of many breeds since 2015. Answer:	Howdy, wow, for a 170 lb dog, I would definitely get our 12" Jumbo (these are actually sold to us as "monster", but since we like to manage expectations, we only call them Jumbo). We will have another option for you in about two weeks-- we are adding super monster size sticks made especially for dogs over 100 lbs! Of course in line with our need to manage expectations, we will advertise them just as "monster." They will be expensive since they are from very large, mature bulls, but they will stand up to a big dog like yours like no other :)
Question:	Hi, Do you sell these that are thicker for strong chewers? If so, the 12 inch
Answer:	Our 12" bully sticks do tend to be thicker than most 6" ones, including our own brand. I do recommend them over 6" size for larger dogs or aggressive chewers, but you might need an XXL if your dog is both large AND an aggressive chewer, as only a few out of each pack will be over an inch thick. Most are average thickness which is .5-1" diameter. It was hard to find an USA supplier that had the XXL size that met our standards, but we have finally found one which does stack up, but we are still a month out to releasing them. We will specifically gear these for big dogs over 50 lbs that are aggressive chewers. However, since they are 3 times as thick as our Regular 12," our manufacturer is charging 3 times the price. So these will probably be sold in 2-PKs for $31, which will be equivalent in weight to our current 6-Pk 12" which are sold for $31. Our six packs are currently out of stock, but we will have these in stock in 7-8 days. The 12" that comes in 1.4 lb packs are similar in diameter to the 6-PKs, but go through an extra weighing step that tops off the 12-PKs with 1 to 2 extra sticks to insure that you are getting a bag that weighs 1.4 lbs.

Answer:	Our products are packed in the USA and the beef come from the Argentina, which is the most well regarded beef in the world. Quality is not something you have to worry about with Nature Gnaws.

Answer:	The US imports a lot of beef and exports a lot of beef. People will ask about the source of beef for their pets but assume the beef they eat is from the US. The package I received recently says in small print that the beef is “sourced from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Paraguay.”They are packaged in the USA. I like that the germs are killed by irradiation. These are Beef Pizzle. A pizzle is a nice word for the bull’s wee. I’m more shocked at the origin of a pizzle than the country of origin. Bully sticks can be made using different animals and their body parts. They are skinnier because they probably come from male calves. So far I have to throw them away every day because my medium sized dogs under 30 pounds only like them for 30 minutes. Then they fall asleep. The smell is low odor. The cows from outside the IS south of the border seem to get better treatment than cows in the US. I was a bit stunned to see how badly cows in California stank. I’ve grown up around ranches in Texas and never smelled anything so bad as when traveling through California cattle country. So I not worried about those specific countries as they were the original cowboys. I’m glad I tried them.

What are bully sticks?

Bully Sticks are single ingredient beef dog chews made from the pizzle tendon of the bull. They serve as a natural alternative to rawhide dog chews made with chemicals or manufactured dental treats made with unnatural flavors, colorings and fillers. We take the meat, clean it with water and roast it slowly in ovens for up to 72 hours until it turns into a hard chew for dogs.

Where are Nature Gnaws Bully Sticks from?

We source raw material from several beef producing countries around the globe including South America, Europe and the United States. We then bake our chews in our plants before they are carefully inspected, lab tested and packaged in our Deerfield Beach, Florida headquarters. How long do they last?

Just like every dog has a different personality, every dog has a different chew strength. If you have a large breed or aggressive chewer, we suggest our large or jumbo bully sticks. For a smaller breed or light chewer, you should try an extra thin or small size.

Why do they smell?
