Answer:	I'm guessing that was a mistake which they've since fixed, since as of August 2014 the description says it's made of a black compound. Either way, here's the information you're looking for: KONG makes these toys in several different varieties of durability. There is one for puppies and one for seniors. Then the red one is the "average" one and the most common. And the black one is what this product is, the Extreme KONG. It's for "power chewers", dogs who tend to tear up all plush toys and also destroy many rubber toys. The compound is simply more durable. I know this is too late to help the original poster, but here's the info in case it's helpful to someone else. :)

It takes him a little bit but yes, they don't hold up if you have a really aggressive chewer and although they are much less expensive here on Amazon you can still end up spending a lot of money on toys if you have an aggressive chewer. Answer:	Hey Tracey! Before I purchased my Kongs, I actually went to PetSmart see what size I thought would be most suitable. For a 22lb beagle, you'd probably want to go with a medium or possibly a small. I'd hate to give you inaccurate advice, so if you're close to a PetSmart go in and look at them. Definitely purchase them off of Amazon though. I got 4 Kong toys off of Amazon for the price I would have paid for 2 at PetSmart. Good luck!
Question:	I just receive it, and the hole in the bottom is so big that the treats will fall out. What treats can be put in these without that happening
Answer:	I soak kibble in water and add some baby food , like sweet potato, carrot, green bean , Sometimes I add the Kong squeeze liver to it, Or small pieces of apple, I used to add Peter Pan peanut butter to it, (its soy free and best for your dog) but my baby is allergic to PB .. opps. I fill it mostly with wet kibble, and the few teaspoons of baby food, (or all natural apple sauce) I leave a small grain free biscuit sticking out of the end and freeze it over night and it takes him 40-60 minutes to get it all out. .. He does his thing on the sofa, I just cover it with a blanket to keep it from getting soaked. The small one takes him 15 minutes. I portion this with his meal to make sure I don't over feed him. But Kibble and Applesauce or babyfood is a inexpensive option .. the large one gives me time to catch up on laundry, dishes and a shower!!!!

Answer:	I use a small toothbrush and warm water to clean mine out, then once a week I put it in the dishwasher on the top rack. I stuff mine with tiny milk bones, peanut butter and wet kibble then freeze it. Put a small scoop of peanut butter over the hole before giving it to your dog and they love it!

Answer:	Not sure about Mammoth tires, but mine came with a tear in it. Funny thing is that I was at Pet Smart the other day and picked one up and it had the same tear. I don't recommend this to anyone.

Answer:	I don't personally have a pit bull so I don't have personal experience there but my dog is a very strong Malinois and is a heavy chewer. He has never destroyed one of these balls.

Answer:	I have seen two sizes. The one I bought is about 7 inches in diameter and about 3.5 inches on the flat between handles. Charlie is a 80 pound retriever and we play with it often and hard. So far (several months now) it has held up extremely well. I don't have the measurements on the smaller one but you may be able to contact Kong for the specs.

It's hard in that it's not as "soft" or "chewy" as (for example) a kong Frisbee or Kong treat ball, but it does have some structural 'give' to it, which will allow the toy to squeak a bit. Your dog may find it entertaining and fun, but mine says "meh" and ignores it.
