Answer:	I purchased this item at the suggestion of the doctor. In his office, he used warm water, and I did the same at home. HOWEVER, you will have better results if you purchase ear drops that help soften the ear wax. It is over the counter. The drops were used in the doctors office, for my son. He had to lay on his side for about 5-10 minutes to allow the drops to work. He sat up, the wash kit was used, and it definitely worked. Answer:	Probably, since they indicate it works for a variety of other mammals. I'm pretty sure it works on the humans in my household too. It's made from a collection of calming herbs, which isn't necessarily species specific like the those based on hormones, which really do depend on the species of the animal. Good luck!
