Question:	Can additional sections be ordered so the gate can be used in a wider space
Answer:	Im not sure about that. It does appear that you could use additional sections but, I don't know if the company sells them. You would need to contact the company and check. Its not a bad product and works well for us keeping our dogs from going upstairs.
Question:	How large are the wide openings at the bottom of the gate? I have cats and don't want them to slip through
Answer:	My 9 month old, 6.5 lb kitten can walk straight through the hinge section of the gate. My 10.5 lb middle cat managed to wiggle her head through before I grabbed her (I have no doubt she could have gotten the rest of her through). I wrapped a piece of fabric around this section which has done the trick. My kitten jumps to the top, balances and then jumps down. My older two cats who have been fighting, have not attempted to jump over to get at each other to fight, which was the purpose of the gate. When I want a little extra security, I hang a piece of fabric up another foot and a half from a couple command hooks. I don’t think most cats are going to try to jump through something.
Question:	How wide is door
Answer:	Just bought and installed this in my window so my cat won’t fall through the screen. Opens in so even if he pushes against it he won’t fall through, and I can still operate the sliding window fully. The largest two spaces are 2.75” apart, where the gate meets the side pieces. All other gaps are 2.25”. The only other gap is between the sides and your wall, but depending on how wide your space is, you can add and subtract on the sides. There are 4 side modules that you can add to just one or either side in any combination, or not use them at all. I have a 45” wide window (large wood casement all around), so I have just the gate on the right side where window opens, and used all 4 side modules together on the left. This leaves just under 2” gaps at each side, installed. So if your dog’s head cannot fit out the largest gap, 2.75”, and you keep the end gaps as small, then this will work. Install so the window opens in, obviously! I got the bronze, and it is a perfect match to the room. Looks lovely with the arched design. My large Ragdoll cat is happy just poking his nose through the slats and spreading out in the sun, listening to the birds he can’t catch, and I can open the window all the way now without him jumping at the screen anymore.
Question:	The gate is advertised as 36" tall, but at what height are the upper mounting points? My banister is only 35" tall
Answer:	The upper mounting points are 34" tall. You have one inch to spare. The arch on the gate is 36" tall.

Answer:	Love this product. I ordered two (1st one) worked well re. entry into the Fam. Rm but blocks Bath/Powder Rm Door and Toddler can see us and is somewhat comforted when we're busy (2nd one) there was a problem Gap frm Family Rm to the Kitchen a No No for the baby where the door gap-size is exactly 40-41" .... Even w/ the spindles ... this did NOT quite get it there with the basic product. Now need to order another 4" Extension.... Answer:	My cat( 9-10 lbs) can fit through the widest part next to where the gate opens. I think it's 2.5 inches. But I put pipe insulation duct taped over that slat and I think it made it thick enough that we can't fit through anymore.
Question:	Would this be high enough for a cat
Answer:	My cats ( one 9 lbs the other 18) will not jump it from the ground but the 9-10 pounder will from the top of the couch next to it! He also can squeeze between the widest part of the gate( I think it's 2.5 inches?) so I put insulation for pipes on the slats and duct taped it there and he hasn't tried it so far. I think it Made it thick enough so he can't fit through. He is a very petite cat with a small head.

Question:	Will this fit a 40inch doorway
Answer:	Our hallway is 40 inches and it fits perfectly. I recommend carefully reading the sizes this company offers so that you purchase the correct size gate.
Question:	If my doorway is 50" wide, which one should I get
Answer:	Sorry, the one I purchased fit perfectly in a 32-inch doorway. However, it did come with a 4.5-inch extension. Didn't need it. Don't recall what sizes they offered. If you don't see one offered to fit a 50-inch doorway (Plus a few inches larger), don't get it.
Question:	I see the width however I can find the height
Answer:	Approximately 31 inches high including handle. I have mine up off the floor about three inches or so since I’m tall I can reach the handle better without bending over.
Question:	Why does the gate still move once I’ve put tension on it? It is moving back and forth when pushed where the two pieces go together
Answer:	there is a "U" shaped metal bracket that bridges the 2 pieces and keeps them from flexing. you should have received with the gate.

Question:	Space size between the rails? Can a small Yorkie fit through it
Answer:	I’m not sure of the exact distance between the rails, but my 20 pound German Shepherd puppy had his head get stuck between the wall and the first rail. I made a extra rail out of a piece of wood to make sure it did not happen again. I’m thinking that gap will depend on how far you need to extend the braces.
Question:	Is this gate auto close
Answer:	This gate is auto close and I have two and I love them. Then open either way and self close in either direction. Also if opened just past 90 degrees, they will stay open till given a gentil push then they self close. The product is very well engineered, well built and nicely finished. As a mechanical engineer I can see no wat to improve this product. I would recommend this gate all.
Question:	Will it fit securely on a wall that isn’t flush? I’m looking to put in doorway that has baseboards
Answer:	Yes. We have ours installed that way. The mechanisms can be adjusted accordingly. For example, the top can be extended further than the bottom one which secures to the baseboard.

Question:	Can this be mounted into the wall? I believe my 60 pound lab will knock this over if it isn't mounted
Answer:	It mount's to the wall or door via suction and though nobs in which you can adjust the tightness. My 60 pound golden mix has not been able to knock over, get through, or jump over this gate. Works perfect with that dog but the 12 pound bichon can fit through the little door which I was hoping only my cats would be able to fit though.
Question:	We want to use it to block our dogs off in the kitchen when we go out. Can it be easily taken down & put back up
Answer:	Yes, it's easy, but we used the wall anchors for more stability (our dogs are large and enthusiastic) and we find it's easier to just leave them up all the time. They're reasonably attractive and the gates are easy to operate, plus this allows us to quickly and easily kick the dogs out of the kitchen if they're being pests!

Answer:	1. You would want to screw it into the walls to make sure it couldn't be pulled/fall over. 2. Make sure it's tightened enough that the "people" door won't open accidentally. 3. Zip-tie the cat door open so it won't pinch little fingers. 4. Definitely make sure the baby can't fit through the cat door - it's probably larger than you think. Hope that helps!

Question:	How does it connect to wall
Answer:	Just like most gates it has extendable bars that come out of the top left and right and bottom left and right. The bars have rubber feet on them. These press against the wall and you extend the bars until the gate is secured to wall (press fit). It also has little cups that you can screw into the wall that will hold the feet in place if you desire extra security. We love our gate.
Question:	does it have locks on top and bottom
Answer:	It only has a lock at the top. The small pet door has a latch. This door has served our purposes very well to keep our dog away from the cat box. We removed the small pet door because it does not open flush with the big door therefore it would hit us in the ankles plus we didn’t need it. Other than removing the small pet door, this door is perfect for our needs. The gate can be set to open in or out, or to swing both in and out which is how we have it set. Very useful and sturdy.
Question:	Do you think cats could jump over this gate
Answer:	Adult cat could jump on the top of the gate, maybe by holding onto it, and jump down. I found a trick to keep the small gate at bottom to keep it open only wide enough to allow cat but not sneaky dog to pass. NOTHING keeps a determined cat from the place he/she wants to go, good luck!

Question:	Do I need to screw this gate to a wall or something? Or will it working without screwing it? We want to install outside on brick, will it work
Answer:	This has four cups (pockets) that need to be screwed to a surface which accept the threaded adjusting arms. These are used to keep the gate in position and the arms from sliding if someone or something pushes against the gate. I would not trust it being installed without the cups.
Question:	Does it swing both ways
Answer:	No, it only swings one way. It would require some serious re-engineering to make it swing both ways. I personally do not find any inconvenience with this feature. Occasionally i remove the gate when I have to move a large object in or out of the room involved but do not find this to be a significant hassle.
Question:	Can the door stay in the open position on it's own
Answer:	No
Question:	I am confused. Is the spacing between bars 2 5/8" or 4"- 4.5". I have a 48" wide door and a cat I want to limit her access
Answer:	Between the bars is between 2 1/4" and 2 1/2", but between the gate and the next bar is 3" (with the gate installed such that the latch nearly touches at the top, per the instructions).

Question:	Do they need to be drilled into the walls or Bannister rail
Answer:	You don't have to. We opted not to and the friction pads seem to work pretty well. The manufacturer provides plastic sockets(2 for each side), or holders, which can be secured with screws to walls or stair-rail posts if you choose but, as I said, it is not absolutely required to do so. We have a chihuahua but if you have a dog with the will to do so the gates may be pushed over. I am a 220 lb man and have banged into our gates on occasion with not so much as pushing the friction pad an inch or so. Hope this helps you out.Mike Ramstead

Answer:	Yes, you can still close the door. We have ours installed in the frame of our bedroom door and the door still closes as it normally would.
Question:	The gate can extend to 44", what is it's smallest dimension
Answer:	The gate cannot extend to 44". It can extend to 37" using the 6" extension included. If you need wider, you will have to take off the 6" extender and add on another extender (I see a 12" extender available on Amazon). So you only gain a net 6" with that extender.
Question:	How wide are the gaps between the bars? I have a 6 lb pomeranian. Would she be able to get out through the bars
