So you can wiggle your toes but the shoe also still cradles your foot. I have classic wide feet, but I can wear these in regular, but I order half a size up. Clark’s can run wide in some styles. I think these just have some stretch, so a wider foot can fit, and they accommodate feet that swell during the day. If you think your feet are narrow, definitely order the narrow in these. I usually have the opposite problem since my feet are wide.
