Answer:	I purchased 8 steam pans for my four cats several years ago for less than half the price. I only wish that I'd thought of it years ago. While this is nice because it has rounded edges, it's SO much more expensive than the steam pans. Wow, $50 for a cat pan vs. $20 for a steam pan here at Amazon. Either way, I would never, ever go back to plastic pans again.

Answer:	Just a response to those that say at least 1 litter box per cat. We had a cat rescue for nearly 20 years, at one point with as many as 12 (ferals included) residing indoors. There were never more than 5 boxes (cleaned daily) available for them. In order to see if more were needed, I'd use a UV (black light) flashlight to look for spray spots. Oddly enough, after almost 20 years, I found that none of the kids went around spraying! To sum it up, in my experience, have two boxes for two cats. If you begin to have more than that I would suggest no more than 50% box to cat ratio, with the emphasis on keeping the boxes policed.

Answer:	I’ve had littermaid boxes since the 1990s and have used many brands of litter. My current favorite is Arm&Hammer clump and seal Slide. This litter clumps well and is less prone to sticking to the bottom of the box and seems to track a bit less than other boxes. Also keeps smell under control as well as fresh step which was my second favorite when litter is changed every 7 days for 1 cat.

Answer:	I have 2 older model litter maid. A single cat and a multi cat. The ones that are taupe colored. I'm down to just the single cat box now as I tried using crystal litter in the multi box and it killed it. Wish I could get that model again as from what I've been reading about the new 3.2 it eventually turns into a manual box. It also says that it only cleans after 20 minutes after the cat does it's business. I can't imagine your cat's poop smell is different than mine but the model I have cleans 5 minutes after the cats done and even then I can smell it until it's contained. I'm still researching the other options for less than $$$. Don't like the cardboard tray of one type but just found out that you can buy a permanent tray vs having to replace it and making more unrecyclable trash. And it also has a 5-10-15 minute timer. The litter robot is quite expensive so I'm going to try the scoop free. But if they still had the version I have I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. Hope this was somewhat helpful.

Answer:	Any large cat liner can be used. However, I have found if you use good clumping litter, you really do not need a liner and if you have a cat with claws they will just tear them up anyways.

Question:	What's the difference between ultra and regular
Answer:	Ultra has the lid which is why it is $169.00 without the lid it is $139.00. The base of the litter box at a step counter (how many uses) and timer intervals of 5/10/15. The 2nd generation appears to have a small front lip which my cats tender to pee towards the front so with shorter front step the pee gets on the cardboard replacements. I have both ultra and 2nd generation- with two cats I prefer the ultra. In my opinion it is made better. The 2nd generation doesn’t have the timer intervals and the front step is cheaply made.
Question:	How do you know it's time to change the tray? We have a kitten, so will it go longer at first
Answer:	I change the litter (we use the Forever Litter Tray) after about 24 uses - that's about 4-5 days in our house with 2 cats. Our cats must pee in larger amounts, because at 24 uses, I start to notice a smell from the box and the litter looks saturated. I see other owners that get 50-100 uses before they change out the litter. For a kitten, they would pee in smaller amounts, so it should last quite a bit longer.

Answer:	I got the pet safe scoop free ultra about 6 months ago and just love it. I have 3 cats that are inside/outside and have to change it every couple months. I got the plastic litter tray that was an extra $50. I've since found crystal kitty litter at Walmart for 1/2 the price of pet safe, but haven't tried it, just saw it over the weekend.

Answer:	Do use the crystals with this machine. It's what makes this litter box the best on the market. Not only is the motor whisper quiet, those crystals really work! Answer:	The reviews are for the wrong product. The reviews are for a top load litter box. This is not that. This is the oval design in the listing. Ignore the reviews and pics with the reviews. It looks like a glitch on Amazon's side where the wrong reviews were put with this listing. Maybe if you can find that top load litter box, you can find the reviews for this product...maybe they got flip flopped.

Answer:	I put a 20” ceramic cat from the 70s in it and got pics but don’t find anywhere for me to add them. The ceramic cat fits fight in the pan no problem. It just depends on how big your 16 pounder is. My Rambo is only 14 pounds and it’s not quite big enough for him. He’s a young bobcat cross. It would be too small for a Maine Coon. But big enough for a fat Manx. I just bought my second one for my house cat. Love them. So easy to clean and look so cute. I hope this helps in some small way.

Answer:	This is not the one I bought, but the comments do verify that it is two pieces (it would have to be). Mine is oval but the top piece that fits on is the same height all the way around. I have 3 big cats and they go crazy kicking so this one did not work for me. It seemed to be for kittens. Mine is the low one shown in the description.
Question:	What are all of the dimensions overall
Answer:	Hello. I’m fairly certain the Iris Ellipse will be just a tad too big to fit inside the planter litter box. The planter is 20” at it's widest part then tapers down. The Iris Ellipse is almost 19 3/4” at it’s longest point and I don’t think the two points will match up. You could possibly use it without the rim but you’d lose the high back advantage. I’m not sure of the planter’s bottom diameter but it looks like it tapers in quite a bit. Hope this helps.

User questions & answers

Question:	I have back issues, is this litter box heavy to lift
Answer:	Not moreso than most others . The lid does not add much weight. If you reach a point of needing to dump the entire box of litter (which I recommend periodically) it will be heavy because of the litter, unless you scoop it out. But, there are lightweight cat litter brands, if that helps. The box is not heavy to roll back and forth, but of course, you have to bend or kneel down, and that might be more difficult with some back problems.
Question:	When changing the litter out from used litter to new what do you do? How often? Do you spray container out with hose? Suggestions
Answer:	The litter changes itself because a certain amount of loose litter is sacrificed along with the clumped waste. Thus you needn't do anything. It is quite difficult to clean out any clumping litter with a hose, for the bentonite clay is quite water resistant. You have to sort of scrape it off. Thus we roll the boxes over every day and don't concern ourselves with more--the cats don't mind and we detect no odor.
Question:	Has anybody ever used this with natural clumping litter, particularly World's Best
Answer:	I use it with World’s Best in the red bag and it works well. I just bang the bottom when it’s upside down to knock off anything that’s sticking. I also flush it and that’s fine too, although I end up cleaning the toilet more often.
Question:	How does this have power
Answer:	Nope. It's entirely powered by you, the cat servant. And, of course, the cat.

The New and Improved Roll 'n Clean Self Cleaning litter box features improved stronger locking clips, a stronger more durable sifting grate, and over all stronger plastic, with the same great self cleaning feature as the original Roll 'n Clean.

Step 1

The first step is as simple as rolling the Roll 'n Clean litter box all the way onto the top (tap the bottom to release any clumps) the clean litter is sifted by our sifting grate while the waste is separated into the pull out tray!

Step 2

Once you roll the Roll 'n Clean Self Cleaning Litter Box back to the bottom upright position, simply pull out the waste tray. All of the waste is collected into the pull out tray to be disposed of.

Step 3

Tilt the Roll 'n Clean Self Cleaning Litter Box to the left to deposit the clean litter back in the base of the box. It's as simple as that. The Roll 'n Clean Self Cleaning Litter Box uses no electricity, liners or filters.
