How to Find the Best Fit:

Select the carrier size based on your pet's measurements below and then by your pet’s weight, making sure not to exceed the maximum weight limits. Note: the carrier is designed for pets lying down, so your pet may not be able to stand.

Answer:	The wheels are not 360. You have to be careful that you pull straight or it can roll over. This being said, I am very happy with it. Answer:	Yes I washed the entire carrier with laundry soap and poured a little cat urine remover in it. It washed great with no smell. The only thing I had to replace the wooden bottom. I wish the wooden bottom was hard plastic so it could be wiped down.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR PET

I always recommend to measure your pet while comfortably laying down as this is the typical position during flight time. Keep in mind all of my airline approved totes are designed with pet safety and comfort as the priority, and then by airline under seat requirements, so sizing is limited by that criteria. For the most part I produce all of my airline capable totes at close to 18X11X11" of exterior sizing, as that is the most universally accepted size for under seat requirements on the widest variety of aircraft.

Why Soft Sided?

The benefits and popularity of frameless soft sided pet carriers is their pliability and ability to conform to varying under seat configurations of modern aircraft. All airlines actually have similar sizing requirements, and those are more stringent on narrow bodied aircraft than wide bodied aircraft, but yet the primary design of an airline capable tote is to comfortably fit your pet but yet conform to fit under the 8.5" seat. Airline Compatibility

I work with representatives of the major airline carriers in the design of my totes, including most domestic airlines, and at this point over the years my various totes have been used on virtually every airline around the world. While all airlines can vary a bit due to differing aircraft models and seat layouts, all have the same requirements of under forward seat compatibility. Configurations can vary between regional, national and international routes as differing aircraft are used, but the ability to conform to various seat configurations is what sets the frameless soft sided carrier apart from other types of framed carriers.

Under Seat Compatibility

In short, all of my airline capable carriers are regularly used on domestic and international airlines, and all are compliant with under seat requirements, but the reality is that there can always be an aircraft or route of a particular nature that uses a smaller aircraft without under seat clearance, but I have rarely come across that with reviews and feedback from literally thousands of users over many years. It is always advised to proactively check with your airline of choice well prior to departure.

Airline Requirements

Buyers often ask about "TSA", "IATA" and "FAA" rated and the fact is that there are only guidelines for animals carried in the cargo holds of airliners, but these do NOT apply to in passenger cabin pet carriers. Always keep in mind each airline sets their own specific requirements, and they can even vary from their domestic, international and shuttle routes so it is always advised to check with your airline of choice. All airlines have very similar sizing guidelines, and all will require your pet to be comfortable in the carrier, well ventilated and to remain under the seat in front of you during flight. Answer:	3/16th inch 10-24. That will get you to the hardware store to buy bolts and nuts. These are carriage bolts by the way.

Answer:	Based on our experience, the answer probably is "it depends." For what it's worth, here are some notes on our experience.1/ We needed to fly from Seattle to Oslo with a 90 pound German Shepherd. 2/ Regulatory requirements re: crates are quite vague, and airlines implement the objectives ("comfortable," "safe," etc.) differently. But all of the constraints were based on height and length; we did not find an airline with a weight constraint. As for the height constraint, some airlines measure to the top of the ears sitting, while some measure to the top of the "head" (no clarification) standing. One airline measured length from tip-of-nose to tip-of-tail! At least for us, the airline (Iceland Air) could not accept this large crate at the airport. So we had to work with a freight company. At that point, you're subject to multiple entities' potentially different criteria (airline, freight co., FAA, IATA, and the USDA-equivalent in any country where you change planes). We decided to get something that would satisfy the strictest requirement. Ultimately, we found that the largest crate was the only way to make sure that our dog didn't get stranded en-route.3/ That said, the series 7 crate created some logistical issues. British Airways told us they could not accept the crate (regardless of the size fo the dog). American told us the same thing. United, Iceland Air, and SAS all provided quotes. Turns out that this crate would not fit on either a 737 or an A320! United only flies 737s into Oslo, but the freight rep was apparently unaware of the constraint. I can't imagine how screwed we would have been if we'd arrived at Heathrow planning to fly to Oslo on United. Anyway, if you do get the series 7 crate, make sure your entire journey is on sufficiently large aircraft. For us, that meant flying Iceland Air. They exclusively fly 757s, so we knew we'd be OK. Anyway, I hope some of this helps. This crate worked well for us, but it created additional administrative complexities for which some of the airline reps were unprepared. Good luck!!

Answer:	I put mine in the front passenger seat and put the seatbelt through the handles and around the bag. It is not set up for travel in that way though.

Answer:	The benefits and popularity of frameless soft sided pet carriers is their pliability and ability to conform to varying under seat configurations of modern aircraft. All airlines actually have similar sizing requirements, and those are more stringent on narrow bodied aircraft than wide bodied aircraft, but yet the primary design of an airline capable tote is to comfortably fit your pet but yet conform to fit under the 8.5" seat. Keep in mind, airline capable carriers are designed for your pet to be laying down, as most pets will need to do so to allow for fitting under the seat. Most of my totes are designed at about 18x11x11” exterior measurement, as that is the optimal size for under seat capability on the widest variety of aircraft. All are designed with pet safety and comfort as a priority, and secondly with pliable fabrics that allow compression for under seat compatibility, so it’s mostly a choice of styling preference with each model. It is important to point out that there is a substantial design difference between a frameless soft sided airline capable pet carrier and a standard carrier. Keep in mind the priority for an airline capable carrier is the ability and pliability necessary to accomplish under seat requirements, which by definition means that an airline capable carrier is purposely not designed with the same firm structure as a non airline capable pet carrier. What gives a soft sided carrier much of its structure is the fabric used and the zippers themselves along with a thin wire frame. The reality of airlines (and the TSA or equivalents) is there is no such thing as a blanket approval of a pet carrier or brand, as there are many other factors involved. I work with representatives of the major airline carriers in the design of my totes, including most domestic airlines, and at this point over the years my various totes have been used on virtually every airline around the world. While all airlines can vary a bit due to differing aircraft models, all have the same requirements of under forward seat compatibility combined with pet comfort. The TSA requirement that all airline crew must follow is that the foot space must be cleared for takeoffs and landings, and this applies to purses, bags, and yes, pet carriers. Under seat spacing and configurations can vary between regional, national and international routes as differing aircraft (wide bodied vs narrow bodied) are used, but the pliability and ability to conform to various seat configurations is what sets the frameless soft sided carrier apart from other types of framed or hard shell carriers and has led to their popularity.  In short, all of my airline capable carriers you see on the site are regularly used on domestic and international airlines, and all are compliant with under seat requirements, but the reality is that there can always be an aircraft or route of a particular nature that uses a smaller aircraft without typical under seat clearance, but I have rarely come across that with reviews and feedback from literally thousands of users over many years. It is always advised to proactively check with your airline of choice well prior to departure. Keep in mind many airlines have an in-cabin pet limitation per flight, so you will want to reserve your space early on in your planning. Question:	The answer regarding securing the carrier to the car with a seat belt is not clear. Where in your carrier can we attach a car seat belt
Answer:	No, but the inside pads can be removed for washing. I prefer to hand wash the paddings; although if needed I would gently hose the carrier and let dry in the sun.
Question:	Does it work for a 17 pound beagle
Answer:	My 16 lb cat finds handily inside, but it's snug for him. I just use it to take him to the vet, but it'd still fit on an airline if I had to travel with him. He's not uncomfortable, and likes that he can see more through the mesh than the hard plastic. Not all cats may like that, but mine does.
Question:	Is this product made in usa? it says in description that the business is usa based but the items can still be made and shipped from somewhere else
Answer:	More critical than weight - especially at those lighter weights - are the measurements pf the animal. Can they turn around, lay down, etc. The Medium size is probably bigger than what you need, but the dog will have ample room, feel less "confined". It isn't a carrier that sags, is easy to carry - think your dog would like it.
Question:	How do you secure the carrier in he car for travel? Is the dog able to look out through the car window
Answer:	You won't be able to squish this one. The edges are rigid for the height. I just tried to do it and couldn't get it at or below 9 in.
