Question:	I have Kaytee canary food which is well over 50% red & green pellets which he won't eat so most ia wasted. Is this mostly seeds
Answer:	I have a large feeder that holds about 1/2 cup for all four finches. It lasts about a week, but it is important to check it each day for droppings and husks. Sometimes there is an inch or more of husks! If there a lot of droppings, I dump the whole thing, clean the container, and add clean seed. Something else I do is mix in a small amount of the excelleny Gold Patee Canary Moist Eggfood, available here on Amazon, once or twice a week. It is very rich and they'll pig out on it otherwise. I also sprinkle some Zupreem Fruit Blenf pellets (extra small for canary/finch) on alternate days a treat. As you know, finches shouldn't exclusively eat seed, though Kaytee is the gold standard! They also need ground hard-boiled egg, crushed eggshell, and dark greens. Also other veggies and fruits (look up what's safe). Mine don't eat greens so well. They also love soaked seed, which should be sprouted, but mine won't eat sprouts, either! It's still healthier than dry. Finally, I mix cornbread with dried greens, dry supplements and l-theanine if they are feather-plucking or fighting. Sorry, TMI and you probably already know this. I clean the cages every other day with a water/vinegar mix and bath them once a week with the same stuff. They love it! It is very important to change the water daily.

Answer:	A reliably formulated pellet diet like Dr. Lefeber's is suitable for tiny, active birds like canaries and finches and is interchangeable between these similar species. In fact, many products are labeled "For Canaries and Finches". BTW: my own two pet canaries will not eat this food, so I've been putting it outside for the little wild birds who seem to like it fine.

Answer:	I have an American Singer and a Belgian Waterschlager canaries. I have great respect for Dr. LaFeber, an avian veterinarian, so I bought a. tub of this canary food. Neither of my birds will eat it even after a month of trying. It is shaped like very tiny little "sticks" of varying short lengths, not rounded pellets like all the other foods.. I'm not familiar with your "green singers" but I'd be very hesitant to recommend this stuff after my experience. It's too heavy to ship back so rather than waste it, I've been putting it outside on the ground and the wild birds seem to clean it up.

Answer:	I am sure if you purchased this corn, sunflower, and peanut mix, the squirrels would appreciate the supplement to their diet. Ideal nutrition? No, but it is affordable and they will enjoy it. Peanuts are legumes, not nuts, so they should never be the main source of a squirrel's diet. Corn is also more of a snack food. Both corn and peanuts can harbor a toxic mold, so you need to look for that. A better diet should have fruits and vegetables, and nuts in the shell. Variety is best as some foods can inhibit the absorption of minerals from other foods.For my squirrels, I spend a fortune on raw unsalted walnuts, pecans, and occasionally other nuts if on sale (usually without the shell). I try to avoid almonds, pine nuts sourced from China, and cashews based on my online research. I also include some fresh chopped apple, pear, or peach a few times a week, and sometimes lettuce, broccoli, or carrot, along with some dried sulfite-free fruit bits (there is an add-on offer on Amazon for the dried papaya bits, sold for pet birds, and other fruit/nut mixes; I add it to my cart when the price is low). My squirrels also eat food for the birds, such as raw shell-free sunflower seed and yes, peanuts... I just try to offer variety as much as I can. Like humans, they usually go for the less-healthy options first.My suggestions are a little extreme. If any creature shows up in my yard, I will feed it and obsess over its health and happiness. :-) I definitely spend too much, and what I provide is more than most would. My friend works at a wildlife rehabilitation clinic and she said even they do not feed as many healthy options as I do. I am not sure if I should be proud or embarrassed by that comment!Other critters who enjoy the nuts, fruit/veggies and seeds are: birds, groundhogs, turkeys, and an occasional opossum will show up after dark to clean up any remaining food. Answer:	I'm sorry for taking so long to answer. Depending how how many quail you've got to feed the size of this bag would be too expensive. I ordered out of desperation I didn't have transportation and was completely out of bird feed. it's not available in my area either, if you want my honest advice go into a Wal Mart and they usually have Audubon and it's full of white millet seed sunflower and chopped corn. good luck watch those hawks, I have one that likes to come down and steal feed from my birds he doesn't bother them except scaring the wits out of them and that makes me have to stop everything and run out to see what in heaven's going on now!

Answer:	I got mine almost 20 years ago from a breeder that was part of our pigeon club . You may look into pigeon clubs in your area starting with 4-H groups . Otherwise occasionally I see diamond doves at petsmart. they are a dove but they are very small and delicate and are a little bit more difficult to handle but they are very cute and beautiful . You could try Craigslist as well but I have never done anything like that . Be aware that birds are a little more delicate and prone to different things and they do make a mess between feathers from molting and flinging birdseed everywhere trying to find the seed that they prefer at that time . If you get more than one for the breeding pair I would be cautious on letting them breed and have eggs because they lay almost constantly . I would recommend letting them get settled I typically take their eggs when they first laid them and switch them out for dud eggs so that they can still sit but won't have any babies unless I allow them to so that the cage does not get overcrowded . They would need a cage big enough to be able to fly a little bit I have mine and a large parrot cage so they have room .
