Answer:	The smaller the particles the better it is. It will filter out more bactiria and keep.it clearer. Try and stay at the minimum range size.

Answer:	I used mine for exactly that purpose and will post a pic of it in my review. One 50# bag will fill a 55gal tank to an avg depth of about 2 inches. For most people, this is sufficient, however, I think I need more for planting and aquascaping. It is really beautiful and cheap silica sand for aquarium purposes.

Answer:	That's a great idea. I have a refugium in the sump that grows plants and the sand actually grows a little algae making it have a natural peppered look. I'd have to take a close up of it. Answer:	Nope. The required pounds of sand are in the specs and on the label. It will be at least 200 lbs.
Question:	What is difference between this and de
Answer:	There are two basic differences between a sand filter and a DE filter. First is filtration. A DE filter can filter debris down to 5 microns in size; the sand filter can remove debris down to 40 microns in size. The second difference is required maintenance. For either filter this is usually done every six months or when the pressure gauge reads ten pounds above the pressure reading when it was cleaned. The DE filter most be disassembled and each filter element cleaned. Once cleaned, the elements are inspected for damage. If otherwise okay, the filter is reassembled, the equipment is turned on, and the filter is checked for leaks. After this, DE is introduced to the filter through the skimmer. Then you have to clean the mess the cleaning made. Total time to do: 45 minutes to and hour and a half, depending on the mess. The sand filter is cleaned by running the discharge hose to the sewer cut out, rotating the multiport valve to back flush, and turning the equipment on for a few minutes. The equipment is turned off, the multiport valve is rotated back to filter, and roll up the discharge hose. Total time to do: 10 to 20 minutes, depending on how long the discharge hose is.

Answer:	I have a saltwater pool also. The reel is aluminum. The hardware is steel with chrome plating, the legs are steel with plated chrome plating and rubber and the wheels are steel with painted hubs. So far after owning this 4 years I believe, it’s performed and lasted well. I have had trouble with the Velcro straps though and the plastic grips to attach the solar cover to the Velcro strips on the reel. Very cheesy way to mount.

Answer:	Yes. When you put it together there is two sections that slide, one inside the other. Like a curtain rod, you adjust the length you need. So, it supports up to 21 foot in length, you only need 16 foot, you initially adjust it to your need. If you look closely at the photo, you'll see the difference in circumference at the half way mark.

Answer:	Looks like the 1005 does insulated AND non-insulated terminals/connectors. Stamped on the end of the tool which to use (NON or INS). Where the 1006 does just non-insulated with one for 10-12 and the other for 14-22. Klein website makes it looks as if the 1005 NON and INS both accommodate 10-22. I opted for the 1005.
Question:	Is this the sand to use for sunoco 2450gph filter
Answer:	Thanks for your question! The ID of this 1/2" conduit is approximately .625" or 5/8" as per electrical standards.

Question:	Can this be used in s spa sand filter with 104 degree water
Answer:	Unsure of the temperature but should work fine I use it for my pool sand filter and was the best move in pool care I made.
Question:	Can you use this with a hayward brand sand filter
Answer:	From what I can tell, they can be used with any sand filter. We are using it with our Intex sand filter right now, and it's working great. Make sure to look at how much sand your filter takes, as it will tell you how many boxes you will need. Our filter took 50lbs. of sand, so one box is all you need per 50lbs. Also, on the paperwork inside the box, it tells you that you will need what is called Pea gravel if your filter has a certain type of inside workings. We got a bag at our local hardware store. Question:	Can I use algae prevention product with these? We are still getting algae in our pool
Answer:	yes, you can, heavy shock, bring PH level into line. Get water tested before you start. Leslie's is a great place to start. They will tell you how much shock, plus everything else it will take to clear the pool up. You need the white and the blue balls for this to work properly or you will just push algae back into the pool. Read other issues I have posted on these balls and how they work. Please locate them and read the entire program hoe the 2 size balls have to work together. Amazon carries them both. I also explain how you clean these critters. Backwash will never clean them out properly and you could end up clogging the drain if you are not using a Hayward Sand filter conversion. They keep balls out of drain if back-washed. These balls, when used with a perfectly balanced pool, should only need to be cleaned twice a year. Depending on debris being sucked up. Algae killer alone is not always the full remedy and can make things worse if the pool is not properly balanced. Use Leslie's... This will save you money in the long run. Get the blue balls 2 to 3 bags depending on the size of the filter. 3 bags of white balls on the bottom and 3 on top. You Level of balls must be as high or a little higher than the sand. Don't useless that is a fantasy, these balls allow one hell of a lot of water pass through them and you will not have high pressure on the pump. Your pressure should be way up and if not and your pressure is dropping balls are clogged. You need to read the articles I have sent others on the proper way to set up and clean the balls. This is very important or you will be one of the users that rate the balls a single star and they don't work. These are not a throw-in and let them go. They are a device that allows your pool filter to only be cleaned once a year and be maintenance free as long as the chemistry is totally perfect before you start. My pool is clear all year around and no maintenance except occasional heavy shock if it gets too hot especially Texas. Watch the leaves they will kill chemistry. I converted to saltwater the same time I started the balls, NO CHEMICALS. PH stays set and keep salt level up to the proper setting. NO ALGAE either. Answer:	These work on ANY sand filter system and soooooo much better than sand or glass. We did A LOT of research before purchasing these and it was worth it...we are so happy with the results. And depending on the amount of sand your filter requires will determine how many boxes of balls you need for your filter. You fill it to the top of the fill line just as if you were filling your filter with sand or glass. There are many charts on line to tell you how many boxes you need for your size filter, but just check your manual to see the sand requirement needed and buy accordingly. They say a 5 lb. box equals 50 lbs. of sand but I think it's actually even higher. We own an 18 X 10 Rectangular Above Ground pool by Bestway and our pump is 1,050-gallon filter pump with a water capacity capacity: 3,913 gallons and close to 40 lbs. of sand needed to fill it to the fill line and we filled the filter to the fill line with the balls and our box looks like it is still completely full so you get several uses out of one box of balls for our size filter anyway. They say they will last several seasons if you use the right chemicals in your pool that are recommend (NEVER USE CLARIFIERS with these balls it will clog them up) and check and clean your balls as needed usually once a month. You don't need pool clarifiers with this product anyway, this product is soooooo easy and maintains a MUCH better water balance than when you use sand or glass. I bought a bucket just for rinsing these balls in (I don't use a bucket I use to clean my house because it could coat the balls with bad chemicals and I NEVER use tap water) I use clean pool water on them to clean them. They say you can use your washing machine to clean these, but I wouldn't chance introducing chemicals on them that may cause a water imbalance. Just check you PH once a week, use chlorine tablets, check you balls about once a month or more, and clean them or replace them as they get dirty and that's all you need to do. This is not something you just throw in your filter and never check all season even sand and glass should be cleaned often during each pool season, but one box of these goes a long way. We filled our filter and it barley made a dent in the ball supply out of the box. There are several months use in one 5lb. box if you don't want to have to clean the balls and just wanted to replace them with new ones each time. If used properly this system is AMAZING! We never need anything other than Chlorine tablets and have not had algae or any other problems just crystal clear water. But we follow all pool maintenance rules and product recommendations closely too. Hope this helps :)

Answer:	Yes, that is correct. You do not remove the mesh from the plastic neck. This is a “plug and play” replacement bag.

Answer:	There are two ways to remove the bag. 1 - twist the plastic connector ring and pull up OR squeeze the two friction tabs together and pull up. There are two models of the 280 /480 polaris, the model will determine the method of removal. Older models will have two slots in the connector ring where the bag ring tabs engages the cleaner.

Answer:	The Velcro can be used to attach to a quick release type "C" plastic clip that you can snap around the high pressure supply hose. It will hold the bag higher up on the hose in a more vertical position allowing pool debris to get into the bag easier. You can adjust the clip position with a heavy rubber ring on the high pressure hose to kind of stretch the bag out a bit.

Answer:	I purchased this filter and pump for our in ground hot tub. It moves a lot of water, but at times is difficult to get primed. It is not a self-priming pump. For an above ground pool that wouldn't be an issue. We've had it installed for almost two years and it's still working well. My pool pump is 2HP but my pool is much bigger than 28' dia.This pump would probably work fine for you pool. Again, not self priming though.

Answer:	Yes, this filter should work with your Intex pool. However, you will not be able to connect the standard 1-1/2" hoses (furnished with the Hayward pump / filter combo) to the pool itself since the Intex suction / discharge fittings (on the pool) are proprietary connections that are made for Intex hoses (i.e. 1-1/2" female slip nuts with O-ring seals). Note that the furnished 1-1/2" Hayward hoses are made to fit 1-1/2" hose (barb) fittings that are secured with a conventional hose clamp. In this regard, my solution was to purchase a Hayward SP1091LX Dyna-Skim Above-Ground Pool Skimmer and Accessory Kit (available from Amazon.com for $31.59). This kit required some minor cutting of the pool liner wall (with a sharp utility knife) to accommodate the skimmer (i.e. suction line) whereas the new discharge fitting (also included with the kit) fit the existing opening (hole) in the pool ... installation time took about an hour. An alternative to this skimmer / discharge retrofit would be to purchase adapters that will provide standard 1-1/2" hose barb connections on the Intex pool for the Hayward hoses. You'll also need 200 lb (4 - 50 lb bags) of pool filter sand for the 21" Hayward filter available from your local home improvement store (about $5.00 / bag). Hope this helps.

Answer:	Yes, if using 1-1/2" or larger hoses/fittings. It is recommended that filter systems should filter all water in the pool within 8 hours. A thirty foot round pool x 4 foot deep is 21,150 gallons. This filter systems operates at 50 gallon per minute resulting in a 7 hour time to filter all water in the pool. The 50 gpm flow rate is based on all hoses and fittings being 1-1/2" diameter or larger - an 1-1/4" hose or fitting will restrict flow and possibly damage the filter or pump. A larger system would probably require 2" hoses/fittings.

My pump did not come with hoses but I was fortunate enough that the pool installer had some hoses and he was able to get it all together and it runs great as long as you maintain it properly. Also, while I am at i want to share with you the chemicals i use weekly, Algaecide and clarifier (1/2 gallon each week with shock) . Keeps the pool really nice and clean. Good Luck!

The Flow clear 2000gal Sand Filter is a highly efficient and way to keep clean water flowing through your above ground pool. It's also far more cost effective than running a traditional filter pump system! This is because the pump uses silica sand instead of a filter cartridge. During prolonged use a cartridge may need replacing every couple of weeks. Silica sand needs to be changed once every three years! Answer:	50lbs to fill it to the "full" mark. However, it spits quite a bit of that out. You'll want to put it on the "flush" setting when you first turn it on to allow the excess sand to spill out on the ground. If you don't, it'll blow it into the pool.
