3 best rodent repellent for cars
Rodent repellent for cars is a product designed to deter rodents, such as mice and rats, from nesting or causing damage inside a vehicle. These pests can sometimes find their way into cars, where they may chew on wiring, insulation, or other vehicle components, leading to costly damage. Rodent repellents are used to prevent such infestations. Here are some common features and types of rodent repellents for cars:
Sprays and Repellent Sachets: Some rodent repellent products come in the form of sprays or sachets that emit a scent that rodents find unpleasant. These can be placed in various areas of the car, such as the engine bay or the interior, to discourage rodents from entering.
Ultrasonic Repellent Devices: Ultrasonic rodent repellent devices emit high-frequency sound waves that are unpleasant to rodents but generally inaudible to humans. These devices can be plugged into the car's power source and placed inside the vehicle to deter rodents.
Natural Ingredients: Some rodent repellents use natural ingredients like peppermint oil or other essential oils, which are believed to have a repellent effect on rodents. These products are often considered safer and more environmentally friendly.
Electronic Traps: Electronic traps designed for rodents can also be used in and around the car to catch and eliminate pests that may have already entered.
When using rodent repellents for cars, it's essential to follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully. Ensure that the product is safe for use in vehicles and that it won't cause any damage to the car's interior or components. Additionally, it's a good practice to regularly inspect your vehicle for signs of rodent activity and take preventive measures like sealing entry points and keeping the car clean to reduce the risk of infestations.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this have ghost pepper in it? What are the ingredients |
Answer: | Product says peppermint oil, rosemary oil, garlic oil, white pepper, water and vinegar. The odor is minty and quite strong, but not unpleasant. I sprayed around the car and not in the engine compartment yet, so I don't know how strong it would be In the car if I did spray in the engine compartment. |
Question: | Can you use this on a vechile that you us as your daily drive? Will the smell come into the cabin of the car as you drive |
Answer: | I have to park my car in an area that is accessible to mice. This product is amazing. No problem since I started using it...and I've ordered another bottle. No, there is no smell. I spray it underneath the hood on everything. I am not disappointed. |
Question: | How much vinegar is in this product? Is the vinegar an emulsifier for the water and essential oils |
Answer: | Not sure of exact amount. It says 99.40% water & vinegar on the back, so not sure of the breakdown with water. It did work though. Rats were eating insulation in both my cars during harsh winter. Sprayed this all over that and wiring just in case. |
Question: | If used under car hood, does the odor come inside the car |
Answer: | After spraying under the hood, we let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Smell is minimal then, and I am very sensitive to odors. This is not a problem, and you really don't smell it in the car. It does work. We spray once a month as we live in a rural area and have lots of mice/rats, etc. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this drain the car battery over time |
Answer: | Yes it would take a couple months but it can. |
Question: | Does the ultrasound extend beyond the car if the hood is closed? Can humans hear it outside the car |
Answer: | No. I have 1 in each of my cars. Don’t even know they are there and have never seen a sign of critters under the hood since I installed them. |
Question: | Is one device enough to keep rats away under the hood? My street is having a problem with so many rats and I’m afraid it will happen to my car again |
Answer: | I would say yes. We had a mkc and mice got in it twice. After the first time we bought this device and it worked for the front of the car but they got in through the back of the mkc because they were able to go through a plastic panel behind the bumper. This device works good but to be safe get something for the back to cover your whole car. Our insurance paid for the cleanup twice. If this happens to you please let your insurance company know and they will get the ball rolling if there is any damage. |
Question: | Does it repells ants and spiders too |
Answer: | No, it does not repel ants, spiders or other insects. It works on rodents. |
