How to Apply Mole and Gopher Repellent

Every mole invasion is different, so it is important to think about your strategy before applying the granules. You should first identify the mole areas with the most activity and decide which direction to herd them out of the yard. Note: Application may require more steps depending on the size of your yard.

Day 1 - Spread the granules over the first area and water-in with a sprinkler for approximately 20 minutes. Watering allows the concentrated granules to penetrate deeply into the lawn.

Day 2 - Spread the granules over the second area. Water-in the same are as Day 1, as well as the second area to get the mole moving. Each day’s watering allows the granules to penetrate more deeply.

Day 3 - Spread granules over the third area. Water-in the same areas as Day 1 and 2, as well as the third area to keep the mole moving.

Day 4 - Spread the granules over the fourth area. Water-in the same areas as Days 1, 2, and 3, as well as the fourth area to move the mole out of the yard.

Answer:	castor oil is the main ingredient and the supposed one that drives the gophers/moles away. we've had mixed results using it.

Answer:	I have had good success applying the product every other month (faithfully). It is rare for me to find gopher mounds. There tends to be more mole activity in the Spring, but oddly they tunnel along the edges of my lawn. I suspect this is where the product is least concentrated. If you are a new user, I would apply monthly for about three months, especially if you continue to see activity. My geographic location is N. California.

Answer:	I used several containers of this stuff and saw no evidence that it worked at all. switched to traps and got 7 moles out of the yard in three weeks.

Answer:	I had ~ 180 pocket gophers on my acreage, used Yard Butler with Moletox. I have only seen 4 mounds so far this spring, but won't really know until August (early May now)

We have a cat and a neighbor's dog that wanders around our yard but never noticed any "digging" from them. The product has a very strong garlicky odor and I always use a caution handling it since it's a product designed to kill or make a mole sick and die.

Answer:	I don't know. I haven't seen signs of squirrels since we are in a heat wave. But there are new signs of gophers. So I'm not sure it worked at all.

Prior to treatment, determine which tunnels are active by either pressing down a small section of the tunnel or removing a one inch section of the tunnel’s roof. Mark these sections and re-check them in 24-hours. The tunnel is considered active if the flattened runway has been raised up or if the roof has been repaired. Only treat active tunnels.

After identifying active tunnels, carefully punch a hole in the top of the active tunnel with the pointed end of the cone, drop in a teaspoon of the pellets, and carefully close the hole with sod or stone. Do not collapse the runway again or allow loose soil to cover the bait. After a few days, check the tunnels to see if they are still active. If so, repeat treatment until the war has been won.

Post-battle

Wearing waterproof gloves, collect and dispose of dead, exposed animals. Dispose of leftover bait in accordance with the disposal instructions on the package.

A: The length of time the pellets remain active depends on the amount of precipitation your area has received. If it has not rained since you applied the pellets, the pellets are probably still intact and poisonous. If it has rained or the area has been watered, three to four weeks would be a safe time to wait before exposing your pet to the pellets.

Q: Can I use poison peanuts in my vegetable garden?

A: There is little risk associated with eating vegetables grown in gardens treated with Sweeney’s Poison Peanuts. The active ingredient, Zinc Phosphide, cannot be directly absorbed through plant roots.

Answer:	There's really no difference. It's merely used to deposit poisonous bait in the underground tracks of either gophers or moles. It's very easy to load with bait and then use. I've used mine several times and it truly does get rid of the pests that can honestly destroy your yard!

My mower is a Yardman 12A-569T401. So with that info can anyone tell if this fuel tank will work for that mower? I am assuming yours is the same Krissie?

Question:	how does this compare to Vole Max
Answer:	Don't know how it compares to Vole Max, but what I found works bests is mouse traps (that kill) with peanut butter. Get a bunch of them and place them near holes and paths. One the Vole start to die the others will start to leave. You can also try getting a cat, but that will cost more in the long run.

Answer:	Not so much. The squirrels still get into my outdoor pots to either bury acorns or dig them out.

How to Use:

1. Check to see if pests are active by flattening tunnels and checking to see if tunnels are rebuilt in 24-48 hrs.



2. The new granulated castor oil formula can be applied by hand broadcasting or with a spreader to repel moles, voles, and gophers etc..



3. As a great alternative for gopher repellent ultrasonic devices, once applied to the desired area, water to allow the product to penetrate the soil and release the active ingredient.

Question:	Is this a Sweeney's Product
Answer:	Yes. You water all areas it's been applied to for 20 minutes a day for up to four days. If you apply it to four zones, you apply the first zone and water it. Next day, you apply to zone 2 and water zones 1 and 2. Day 3, apply zone 3 and water all three zones, etc. The zone application is intended to force them to leave as successive areas become unpleasant. If you really get excessive rain, the bag states that reapplication may be needed. What it doesn't say is how often it should be reapplied to keep moles out once they've gone.
Question:	How often do you apply victors mole and gopher repellent
Answer:	I spent a lot of money on Tomcat and used it exactly according to the instructions. It prove to be a total waste of money. If it had worked, I would have successfully pushed the mole to my neighbors yard, but Tomcat enabled me to keep the mole in my lawn (sorry for the sarcasm).

Answer:	My experience dealing with them has been that any one product applied may not move them out of your area. This one is only a part of the products I use to get them out of our yard. Think it may have helped. Good luck.

How to Apply

Every mole invasion is different, so it is important to think about your strategy before applying the granules. You should first identify the mole areas with the most activity and decide which direction to herd them out of the yard. Note: Application may require more steps depending on the size of your yard.

• Day 1 - Spread the granules over the first area and water-in with a sprinkler for approximately 20 minutes. Watering allows the concentrated granules to penetrate deeply into the lawn.
• Day 2 - Spread the granules over the second area. Water-in the same are as Day 1, as well as the second area to get the mole moving. Each day’s watering allows the granules to penetrate more deeply.
• Day 3 - Spread granules over the third area. Water-in the same areas as Day 1 and 2, as well as the third area to keep the mole moving.

Answer:	I'm not aware of any "hose clip". You just thread the tubing through the appropriate holes and start pumping. I had a problem at first of not getting the hose deep enough into fill hole.
