Answer:	Yes, some dust does escape while using the vacuum function. It depends on how much dry dirt is in the debris that you are picking up.
Question:	I've got lots of acrons falling. Will this pick them up and will the acorns hurt the unit
Answer:	I just uyse mine for the first time. I purchased it elsewhere because I wanted it right away oh, but it is the same model. As someone else noted, the instruction manual specifically says to avoid acorns. What ends up happening is that it will get stuck in the impeller, you can hear it clanking around, and that will eventually damage the blades, especially on an electric model like this. So, while it will pick up the acorns, I wouldn't recommend it. I have found that reducing the speed and hovering above leaves that happen to have acorns under them works pretty well to get the leaves. I also have a portion of my driveway that is gravel, and if I hover above that, it will pick up the leaves without picking up the gravel.

Answer:	I made a gutter cleaning attachment with three pieces of one-inch PVC pipe and two 90-degree elbows, attaching it to the blower by cutting the bottom off a plastic bottle and taping it to the front end of the blower. Nothing elegant, but it works!

Answer:	I have an oak tree along my driveway - no problem mulching the leaves. If this manages to inhale an acorn, it will be shredded (or at least cracked open). But the inlet is very wide, which reduces likelihood of leaf clogging, but also makes it difficult to vacuum up large heavier debris like acorns. If you are on a quest to shred acorns (to reduce mice pest issue), I would first use a shop vacuum and collect the acorns into a bucket. Then you will have an easier time mulching them with this (if needed, you could lay the blower on it's side and drop handfuls of acorns down the blower's feed tube).

It wastes too much time you could be playing with your ipad or smartphone. As for emails.....do that when you take a break from your hard work. Texting, emailing and blowing air while your multitasking is overrated.

Answer:	When the battery is in the Charger, the top light only indicates the charger is operational and supplying power to the battery. It will always stay red when charger is plugged in. The bottom light is also red until the battery is fully charged at which time it goes green. The test button on the battery tell you how low or full the state of charge is by indicating via the number of red lights the % charge of the battery. This is so you can get a quick look when its not on the charger. If when charging, the red light fails to turn green after a few hours it 'indicates one off two things; either your battery is shot and needs to be replaced or possibly the charger, itself, has failed. A second known battery will resolve which of the above it is. It always takes a few seconds for the top lred light to come on as the charger must built up enough electrical charge to start the process. The weed wacker from my opinion draws more current from the battery then the trimmer does and it will need to be recharged sooner when used in the trimmer.

Answer:	It may be the battery. Toro cordless tools have weak batteries. They discharge quickly and just don't last long. A hedge trimmer should be gas or electric (AC) to have the power needed to cut through small branches. Take it back if you can.

Answer:	I believe that my kit came with only 2 batteries plus a dual port charger (for charging 2 batteries at the same time). The same blower/vacuum may be also be available with 4 batteries, but at additional cost. I have only used the blower so far, which works very well. I also bought the optional blower nozzle, Makita 197889-6 Flat End Nozzle, Black (about $17.00 at Amazon) which I recommend. If you decide to get the optional blower nozzle, make sure you order the correct nozzle. Go to the Makita website, outdoor power equipment (OPE), go to blowers, and then to accessories. I use my blower to clear my large sealed patio of leaves and sunflower seed shells etc, and also to help blow off rainwater so that it dries more quickly. Two batteries probably last about 20-25 minutes, depending on how much time the blower is used at maximum power. For a patio, half power is sufficient most of the time., and the battery will last longer. Discharged batteries charge in about an hour, and then the charger cooling fan will turn off automatically about 30 minutes later. I have several of the Makita 18 volt cordless tools. Some use just 1 battery (18volts), and others use 2 batteries simultaneously (36 volts), so extra batteries are always welcome.

You must de-solder the cable from the pc board inside the speaker, cleaning off the solder either with a ‘solder sucker’, or a solder wick (which is what I use), and then re-inserting the wires from the new battery into the holes on the pc board, and re-soldering them carefully as to not cross-solder any holes. If you are not proficient at soldering in tight spots, I suggest getting someone else to do it for you, as it takes a low wattage iron and a steady hand. Hope this helps.
Question:	What is the amp-hour rating of the battery
Answer:	No, it will not. I put it in mine and it worked initially. I tried to charge it and the red light that indicates that it was charging was blinking 3 times faster than it had with the original battery. After about 30 minutes of this I unplugged the charger and the Model 414255 would not come on at all. I put the old battery back in and it still works but I need a replacement. It only works takes about 3 hours for the battery to run down. I am very disappointed in Bose, that they do not sell the original Model of these batteries. You may have better luck than me but be aware you may be throwing your money away.
