| Answer: | Yes. I have used them for years in a250 gallon plastic turtle pond over the water pump bottom filter. They only last about 1-2 years though. My turtles sometimes huddle around it. Chicken wire cage is probably a good idea though. But won't burn them under that much water. Don't heat it for very long out of water. Only use with a GFI outlet. |

| Answer: | It is made to NOT melt a plastic tank, but if it were to drift to the edge of a "beach" area where the water is shallow, it's hard to know if the pond liner could withstand the heat. Make an anchor (e.g. concrete block) and tie the power cord (at the point where it enters the heater body) to the anchor so it holds itself in position in the center of the pond. That will leave the power cord free to connect to your extension cord. |

| Answer: | It would, but it’s a bit aggressive of a heater for that size. Mine is for a 400 gallon little duck pond (8x4x2’) and it works great! For a bucket I’d go smaller tho. |
