User questions & answers

Question: Does the radio remember the last station when you turn it back on
Answer: Yes. I like this radio better than the eton that it replaced. And the batteries last just as long. It is also small and light enough to go camping.
Question: how is the battery life

Question: Does this have a speaker or do you only listen through headphones
Answer: Both... Listening to the speakers or you could use with earphone (or headphones) jack listen to yourself.
Question: Does this radio have SAME? Where it goes off during emergencies like Tornados and Bad Storms
Answer: The Radio does not have SAME (Specific Area Message Encoding). It does have an excellent alert for tornadoes and bad storms.

User questions & answers

Question: Why doesn’t outside temp register? Inside temp is working I also put in brand new batteries
Answer: Check that your batteries are charged to 1.5. If you don't have a way (voltage meter) to check, try brand new batteries that are new off the store shelf. For the sync-up process, the batteries must be 1.5 or better. It's the #1 problem we see.
Question: Hello. . . i love this weather station but the aa batteries in my remote die very quickly. what batteries work bet for you
Answer: All outdoor sensors should use Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries. Alkalines will freeze, rechargables start at a max of 1.4 v and drop to 1.2 v fairly quickly and do not like extreme cold. They do not work in Iowa winter. All my external sensors use AA Ultimate Lithiums and last the entire winter, even at -15 below zero F. I change them out every Fall.
Question: Looking to mount this unit flat on a wall. Wtith power cord attached, would this unit sit flush against the wall
Answer: Yes, it can be wall mounted and sit flush against the wall even with the cord attached.
Question: Is it necessary to buy the la crosse technology tx141th-bv2 wireless outdoor thermo-hygrometer $19.95 to make the wireless forecast station wireless
Answer: If I may say, you might want to reconsider a product from LaCrosse. I have had an s85814 weather station for about 3 years and it currently serves as the night light in my bedroom. It never worked and LaCrosse wasn't much help. The temperature outside was always off by close to 20 degrees. Don't do it, you'll regret it!

User questions & answers

Question: Does the model accurately charge C or D size batteries
Answer: I have only used it to charge AAA and AA. It comes with with adapters for C and D batteries that the AA fit into. Based on the size I do not believe C and D batteries will charge properly. Also from the manual "charging unit which enables quick and optimum charging to AA and ―AAA rechargeable batteries"
Question: Does this charger have the ability to charge 1 battery or 3 batteries at a time? Or do you have to have a 2 in each bank
Answer: I own 3 of these. You can charge anywhere from 1 to 4 batteries at a time, and they can be mixed type. For example, you can charge 3 AAA and 1 AA at the same time. I love these chargers.
Question: Can someone tell me whether the batteries that come with this pack are low self-discharging (LSD
Answer: They are the ordinary (high-self-discharge) type. The AA cells are not that great, as they were tested to around 2200mAh only. The AAA cells are around 900mAh.
Question: What are the benefits of the BC1000 over the BC-700? Are they worth paying extra for
Answer: I have both. The BC1000 can also charge at 1000, 1500 & 1800mA. 2 batteries only at 1500 & 1800mA. The problem I'm running into is at anything above 700mA, the thermal cut out kicks in and the charger stops charging until the batteries cool down. All my batteries are Eneloop or Amazon high capacity. (the Amazon batteries are Eneloops) So if you already have a BC-700...IMO I don't think it's worth upgrading unless you need a second charger.

User questions & answers

Question: Can i use this sensor to replace the one i currently usemodel tx37u or do i buy a total new set
Answer: This isn't a sensor. This is a sensor weather shield. Your sensor that came with your weather station goes inside the shield. If you need a new sensor, you will need to buy that separately.
Question: Can this be used with tx141th bv2 sensor that does not have a probe
Answer: I have used this shield with three different types of outdoor sensors by different manufactures. If the sensor can fit within the housing of the shield and stand up against the pedestal inside (attached to the pedestal with a sticky tape) then I would say yes it can. None of my sensor have a probe, but the shield is designed to handle a probe as well. Good luck.
Question: We here in Colorado, have a lot of wasps (or wasp impersonators) this looks like a perfect starter hive for a queen; anyone seen this
Answer: The slots are definitely large enough for wasps. You could slip a rolled up screen inside, but even the vent slots on the bottom would have to be covered as well. I wouldn't try to spray the inside with wasp killer (repels them as well) because the plastic is so cheap it would likely dissolve. My Colorado wasps are not deterred by "bright light" as they built a nest inside one of my outdoor light fixtures/wall sconces where the lights are left on all night (learned that when I got stung changing the bulb!) I just hung them up without any screen or other deterrent. I guess I'll know in a month or two!
Question: Is this unit effected wheather it is the direct sunlight or shade
Answer: Yes it is. Only is affected by direct sun radiation (9:00 to 14:00), you need to put it at the shade to eliminare the sun effect.

User questions & answers

Question: What is the power supply range? i want to buy it as a gift for someone in india. will this work in india
Answer: Yes, at the push of one button you can view Farenheit or Celcius.
Question: Does the projector always stay on, or is there a button to activate/deactivate it
Answer: The projected time and temperature alternate every 4 seconds. However, the time and both temperatures (indoor and outdoor) are static on the actual clock face display.
Question: Can you change the volume of the alarm
Answer: The actual time (based on a real atomic clock) is transmitted from a US government radio station located in Colorado. So when Daylight Saving Time begins or ends, the LaCrosse 616-146 reflects the change as it automatically receives the radio signal.
Question: Does the face stay lit? Hoping the only light from it would be the projection
Answer: Hi Crame. The LaCrosse atomic projection alarm model 616-146 that you purchased DOES have a backlight in the form of lighted multicolored digits, just like you can see in the photo. If you use only the batteries for power, the backlight is only available for a few seconds when you push the snooze bar on top of the clock (as is the projected image). However, by using the supplied power supply, both the backlight and the projected image stay on all the time. With the colored digits aglow, the clock information can be clearly seen both day and night from 15-20 feet or more.

Wait approximately 1 hour before permanently mounting the remote sensor to ensure that there is proper reception. POSITION Outdoor: • Protect the remote sensor from standing rain or snow and from the overhead sun, which can cause it to read incorrectly. • Mounting under an eave or deck rail works well. • If you choose, you can construct a small roof or box for the remote sensor. Be sure a box has vents. • Mount the remote sensor on the North side where to prevent sun from causing incorrect readings. • Mount at least 6 feet in the air for a strong RF (radio frequency) signal. • Do not mount the remote sensor on a metal fence. This significantly reduces the effective range. • Remote sensors are water resistant, not waterproof
