Question:	Does useing a bag help or hinder the pump
Answer:	Not sure about your question but I am assuming you meant placing the pump inside of a mesh bag. If that is so, I don't think it will hinder the flow as long as the mesh does not get clogged with debris. I just have mine submerged in the filter case and the flow is great.

Answer:	No , none of the vacuums do. Only if you put the dibries bag on exit hose to strain out waste. But i do not sugest doing cause all the nitrates and gasses go back into pond. When i vacuum i put the exit hose away from pond. When i add water to pond i do not throw hose in pond that has chlorine in water it must be treated before adding. or add de-chlorination to pond than put hose on a spray and aim into pond. Answer:	Those critters should not clog the filter. It is important, however, that the water be deep enough. You do not want plant material or pond bottom debris to get into the pump or filter. The cleaner the water, the better of course.

Question:	Would this pump be strong enough to push water up to a waterfall (the hose runs about 29 feet from pump to top of waterfall
Answer:	According to Oase's website the maximum head height of the Premium 4000 model is 13 feet. So it would appear that as long as the waterfall outlet is less than 13 feet above the level of where the water is being pumped from, it should work. Also the diameter of the piping etc. would need to conform to OASE's specs to account for the distance. Answer:	Hello Again J. I just came off of the phone with THE manufacturer (Oase). This and all of this pump line absolutely MAY be left in the pond all winter. They are frost safe down to like negative 20 or something like that ... Oase recommends leaving them in the pond all winter. What you have been told did not come from Oase. None of their literature says anything like that. I spoke to someone quite well known in their company - a true expert and they said that what you were told is absolutely not true.

Question:	Anyone have problems with fish getting sucked in? My koi are still small <6 inches, worried about fish getting caught in it and hurt
Answer:	I have small goldfish and koi in my pond and maybe once or twice per year a fish gets in there. Not a serious problem though. They stay alive for quite some time in the basket so if you check it daily you can usually rescue them before they die.
Question:	Can this tube be extended to say 32inch in height
Answer:	My pond is 35" deep and it works just fine with some length to spare.
Question:	Can this be attached to a 3” bottom drain
Answer:	I imagine it could with the proper adapters but I would be concerned with the amount of water drawing through it. A 3" drain may pull substantial water and cause it to malfunction. Check the gallons per hour of flow through your drain against the running recommendations on the skimmer. I have mine working with a pump at approximately 2200 gph.

Question:	my pond is four 4.5 feet deep. how high can the the spout go when submerged? I want to make sure it can sprout water upwards from the water level
Answer:	Unfortunately the spout even fully extended can’t reach that high. But the water flow is so strong that you could possibly find some way to rig your own spout, or use stones or blocks to raise it up off the bottom. I can’t easily measure the height of mine now because of where it is located, but I guess 18” to maybe 24” max from the bottom of the filter base to the top of the spout at the spout’s full extension.
