Hummingbird Nectar

The formula for hummingbird food is simple: about one part white granulated sugar to four parts water. Boil the water for approximately 2 minutes, add the sugar, and stir to dissolve thoroughly. We do not recommend adding red dye to the nectar mixture. Cover and allow to cool before using or pouring into a clean storage bottle. A large batch of nectar can be made and stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. This makes refilling the feeder easy so you won't mind doing it every few days.

You must change the nectar frequently - at least twice a week. The need to change the nectar depends on the temperatures, where the feeder is hung, and number and frequency of hummingbirds feeding at your feeder. If the birds are not emptying your feeder between cleanings, it's unnecessary and wasteful to fill it completely. Fill only with the amount of nectar they will consume in a few days. Over time you will get a feel for how much nectar to put in the feeder. If you notice that the nectar is turning milky, or that white strings or black spots are growing in it, change it more often.

Answer:	I'm not real sure I understand the question; however check these items.....1st make sure the batteries are good. Then to make sure the water flows properly put the dial to "Auto" and press 'water now". Wait about 5 seconds and water should flow out, if not make sure your faucet handle is on. Then if water doesn't come out your device is broken. Note: This is only for a test. Once this cycle finishes, your normal programmed cycle will resume. Good Luck!!!

Question:	Does the picture show correctly on both sides of the flag
Answer:	I don't know the exact answer to that because I don't know what exact models of tubing I have, but I have 2 different types of tubing- one is just a bit under 1/2 inch, and one is just a bit over 1/2 inch. I have always had trouble with one fitting too loose and one too tight, in fact with the too tight one I used to have to soak it in hot water to get it to stretch over the fitting. This product worked well with both sizes of tubing, and has held tight for the month or so since I installed it.
Question:	Do your 28"x40" flaggs come with a built-in flag pole hook attachment for any angle flag pole setting use
Answer:	This is the only version of the adapter that we offer.

Question:	Is this flag double sided so the picture appears correctly on both sides
Answer:	Yes! The bees just can't get in through the ports. Bees were a big problem for me. They would land on my old feeders and stay all day drinking. I sometimes averaged 100 of them at a time. Now, an occasional scout buzzes around and even lands from time to time, but just can't get at the nectar. Since installing these, I've had a maximum of 4 scouts at one time. I am actually considering reinstalling one of my older feeders simply to feed the bees as well. Oh, and although it took a couple of days for the hummers to figure out how to feed from these new feeders, they now love them!

Do you have a matching mailbox cover

Answer:

Hello, Thank you for asking your question. Yes, there is a brass ferrule inside that the hanging bar screws into. These feeders are NOT recommended for dishwashers because the heat will affect the area the ferrule is in, and it will eventually crack and break because the brass heats up more than the plastic, and retains the heat in the dishwasher longer, causing the weakening of the neck. If you had wash, soak in warm to tap hot, you'll be fine. You should get several years out of these before thinking of replacement. I hope this helps. TexasLevi

Question:	Is there anyway to use a flag pole and pole bracket to hang a garden flag from the side of a house? Would like to block pm sun
Answer:	Not sure the actual size but they are kinda large. I think my woodpeckers can actually reach the liquid when they try.
Question:	I read that the "welcome" is only seen on one side but is the picture printed on both sides
Answer:	There is a hole in the bottom center that is 11/16" wide at the bottom and tapers to about 1/2" wide at the top. It is just less than an inch deep. So... with the right sized dowel on a stable base it would probably work with a little 'whittling' on the end of the dowel. If you are using that instead of the hanging rod you could secure it with a small, long screw or brad through the hole intended for the hanging rod.
