Answer:	Have not seen that happen. The holes are very small, need a pipe cleaner to clean them. We have a lot of flowers in our yard which is where the bees hang out.

Answer:	Don’t use chemicals. Out a little Vegetable Oil the chain with vegetable oil. Ants and other critters don’t do well in oil. Be sure to wash and replenish food and oil every few days.

Answer:	The dia of the round bottom is 7 in. The width of the top square red cap is 3.5 x 3.5 in. The height from red round bottom to top of red cap is 9 inches, but if you add the black hook at the top, it adds another 2 inches to the height for a total of 11 inches. Answer:	No, never roaches. I live in an apartment and have never had any issues with feeders and roaches in the 8 years I've had them. I did have ants get into a feeder once (not this feeder) and was able to fix it by putting Vaseline on the hanger. Hope that helps!

Answer:	you can also hang the feeder with a bit of fishing wire and the ants can't walk on the line. i did that with one of mine and no issues.

Answer:	Purchased in 2015 and no leaks. However, I don't fill it more than halfway because we have only about 3 hummingbirds. They take a while to empty it and I want to clean the feeder each time I refill.

Answer:	One part sugar (1 full cup) to four parts water (4 cups). DO NOT ADD COLORING. The red coloring may be toxic and certainly does not attract the birds. Once the birds start using this feeder others will see them and will join in. With two feeders, I need to refill them with two quarts of clear nectar each a day...year round here in San Diego. I'm using feeders I bought in 2014, so they last a long time in the shade. Try different places until you find one the birds feel safe at. Bees cannot reach the nectar in this feeder, and the feeder is easy to clean, which I do with a bottle brush and hot water every day. Enjoy!

Question:	How do i get a replacement base
Answer:	I have 2 of your hummingbird feeders and I just love them. My problem is that when the temperature gets hot outside 70 to 80 degrees they both start leaking around the rim of the base all over the patio. If it is not that warm out they don’t leak at all. I have tried putting in new ring sealers and that still doesn’t help. Should I get new bases?

It's getting the hummbird juice all over the place! If there is no solution this product is defective -- it should last longer than 6 months.

Question:	is glass dishwasher safe and can regular size canning jars be used and is this quart size-conflicting info between ounces and height dimensions
Answer:	The glass is dishwasher safe,I'm not sure about the bottom. I however would not use the dishwasher to clean it due to residue from the chemicals to clean and spot free being left behind and they might be toxic to the humming birds. I compared it to one of my mason jars and the mouth is a bit smaller. You would also not be able to hang a regular mason jar. This is an awesome feeder if you have a ton of humming birds and it is real easy to clean with hot water. It's also a perfect size if you make your own humming bird food. I hope I helped answer your question. I love the feeder and if you have any more questions I would be more the happy to answer them. I was trying to figure out how todo a picture comparing it to a quart size bottle but I did not have that option.

Answer:	Maybe if it was over 100 and in direct sunlight. We live in an area where it reaches 100 plus throughout the summer. We hang the feeders in the shade and its fine. The big problem with these feeders is the "powder coating" on the metal peels off pretty quickly. They would be soo much better if they had an all plastic base or quality powder coating.

Question:	I'm trying to find the y bar mentioned in the review that tge reviewer got at tractor supply. is there another name for it
Answer:	After perusing the hardware aisles of several stores, including Tractor Supply, I came to the assumed conclusion that what the original poster was calling a Y bar was perhaps a double hook with a screw post, typically intended to screw into a wall, to hold a hammer or other tools. It does, indeed, look like a Y. They are available at Walmart, Lowes, Tractor Supply, etc. Look for the red vinyl-coated double hooks with a screw, stock number N222-489. http://www.stanleyhardware.com/detail/2210-double-hooks-n222-489As the original poster mentioned, two 1/4" pipes were pushed into the ground, spaced far apart enough to hold the Hummingbird Bar into the two Y-bars (we'll stick to that name) that have been inserted into the pipes, with the screw section inside the pipe, the U-shape with red vinyl is now sticking up. Turn the Y-bars so you can lay the Hummingbird Bar across and into the U channels. If you get the right size, they are snug, so carefully push the Hummingbird Bar into the U shapes on each side where the end caps are located.

Answer:	Yes - I've seen Gila woodpeckers use it here in Phoenix, AZ. The tips make it more difficult for them to access the sugar water since their tongues are larger than a hummingbird's, but they can still drink although more slowly. Without the tips, Gila woodpeckers can drain the feeder quickly.

Answer:	I live on top of a hill and we get hit with really strong winds. This feeder does surprisingly well in the wind. I thought it would just blow around like crazy, because it's plastic, but the shape of it works to it's advantage, so it doesn't catch much wind and is pretty stable.

Answer:	Yes absolutely! We have lots of bees, and they were attracted to my older style hummingbird feeders, so I tried this one. Works like a charm! Bees are attracted more to the color yellow, not red - so this feeder is perfect. Do not overfill it. Some bees or wasps may land on the feeder at first because they can smell the nectar- but eventually give up because they cannot reach it. Hummingbirds seem to love the feeder style as well! 😊
