CONNECTION DIAGRAM

  1. Always connect battery first!!! Make sure enough batteries’ voltage let controller recognize the right system voltage. The disassembly sequence is contrary to the wiring order.
  2. DO NOT connect any Inverter/ wind/ Alternator or Charger into the charge controller! connect the Inverter directly to the battery.
  3. Ensures solar input voltage higher 3V or more than batteries’ voltage and total input power in the range. if input power is too low for max input power, it may be appears to have been discontinued., the charging current almost be zero when controller is floating charge.
  4. Parameter Setting Rules:Floating voltage > Low voltage reconnect > Low voltage discharge.
  5. The solar controller will stop output when the battery under 10.7V. The LCD will be blank when the battery under 8V and it will re-output when the battery up to the 12.6V (adjustable).
  6. Install the Charger controller to the battery as close as possible. Tighten the wire.
  7. When controller makes buzzing sound because of It's working hard to dissipate heat for your controller. Rest your heart, it will be stop when temperature return to normal.
  8. Remove all the debris around the controller ( leaving a space of approx. 5.91in ).

Answer: On MPPT and PMI controllers of different brands, RFI particularly in the VHF & UHF bands can be extreme. The solar panels do act as large antennas transmitting the interference. Some fairly simple decoupling circuitry can help. Right at the PV input, i've used a large forward diode into a large, CPU-grade electrolytic along with common-mode chokes on wiring before the diode. On the controller outputs, a "Corcom" type pi-filter helps a lot, but components in series with the output must accept full output current without much voltage drop. This can get rid of about 99% of RFI without too much problem. I do use solar and wind turbines for power at my off-grid property and run amateur radio equipment from 70 cm to 160 meter bands.

Answer: On MPPT and PMI controllers of different brands, RFI particularly in the VHF & UHF bands can be extreme. The solar panels do act as large antennas transmitting the interference. Some fairly simple decoupling circuitry can help. Right at the PV input, i've used a large forward diode into a large, CPU-grade electrolytic along with common-mode chokes on wiring before the diode. On the controller outputs, a "Corcom" type pi-filter helps a lot, but components in series with the output must accept full output current without much voltage drop. This can get rid of about 99% of RFI without too much problem. I do use solar and wind turbines for power at my off-grid property and run amateur radio equipment from 70 cm to 160 meter bands.

This depends a little on the exact type of cells you are using. According to page 18 of the manual, you have the option to adjust the "boost" charge Voltage -in 12V system configuration- up to 16.0V, which would be a bit on the low side for a 4s Li-Ion, but still acceptable since keeping a Li Battery a little below absolute max charge can extend it's lifespan. I presume the 6.8V you mention is a typo.

  1. Turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise until the plate of solar controller moves downward.
  2. Please peel off the coating of the cable tip by about 8 to 10 mm,Then Insert the wire into the new opening between the plate and the "top" of the terminal hole.
  3. When turning the adjuster clockwise, the plate moves upward and crushes the wire in the hole of the terminal.
  4. Make sure all connections going into and from the solar controller are tight.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

  1. Make sure your battery must be atleast 60% charged prior to connecting to solar controller.
  2. Always connect and turn on your battery first! Wire your PV after LCD screen power on.
  3. Never connect your PV array to the solar controller when controller's LCD display is OFF.
  4. Careful your input power and voltage does not exceed the solar controller's max value.

  • Battery must be connected FIRST !!!
  • DO NOT connect any inverter/ wind/Alternator or Charger into the charge controller!
  • If the remote temperature sensor is not connected to the controller,, the default setting for battery charging or discharging temperature is 25 °C without temperature compensation.
  • The wire size is only for reference. If there is a long distance between the PV array and the controller or between the controller and the battery, larger wires can be used to reduce the voltage drop and improve performance.
