Answer:	50 dB at 1/2”. That is what the manufacturer is saying. Without a standard it is worthless information. I can claim mine is 47 dB but that measurement is at 30’ from the quietest side another claims 57dB but that is at 10’ Reporting the max reading from any side. Guess which one is quieter? Every generator is 0dB if you stand far enough away.

I would use a good powerstrip with a breaker but it would be best to check with a person who has the credentials before I used it on my computer. Somebody at Best Buy for example that is a member of their Geek Squad. Personally, if it were me ,I would do it because I have a 60.00 Powerstrip.
