Answer:	It sure can. Just buy the right backing plate, spin it on, put a polishing pad on it, then you're good to go. But, you'll need a compressor with a large enough tank and CFMs to polish with it. A steady stream of air is required to run it as a polisher.
Question:	How many teeth per inch? Looking for a smooth cutting small branch saw
Answer:	I don't know what you mean by standard compressor. This tool will connect to any compressor with the correct adapter. This tool requires a lot of air though. I think most mid size compressors will do the job, although you may need to pause for the compressor to catch up. Does that help?

Answer:	Mine came with a backing pad, and yes hook and loop is Velcro. Also I use this sander everyday and love it although I bought a pair adjustment valve to regulate the the speed of the sander.

Answer:	I don’t know, but the fixtures that hold the blade in place are made extremely cheap. It’s a pot metal piece that does not hold up well to middle school kids. I bought 15 of these and over half are now junk. I’ve made replacement pieces from 5/16 screws. Find something better.
