Question:	Would this be sufficient enough to heat the inside of my car in the winter months
Answer:	If you are asking about winter storage for your car to keep it from getting musty, that might work. Sort of like heat sticks for gun safes and pianos for the dampness. If your asking about living in your car, it wouldn't be warm enough for me.

Answer:	I have mine in a cat house with towels and a cat bed around it. The towels touch it. It's uncomfortably hot to touch on high, but doesn't burn my hand so I felt it was safe. I've not had any issues with it so far.

Answer:	The answer to both questions is No according to the instructions. I did place mine on a wall so the chickens don't poop on it. It sits just above their heads while roosting. It also heats objects. Also it will only heat to about 45 degrees which is the highest temp you want for chickens. If the chickens get too hot they move away from it. The panel is not hot but warm to the touch. I find it to be very safe easy to install. Haven't had -30 degree weather yet. It has been in the 20's here at night and I really do love the product. Safe for everyone.

Answer:	I couldn’t find this information either so I emailed the company and asked. This is their reply “Thank you for your inquiry. The internal thermostat does not automatically shut the unit off or on; it only regulates the temperature of the unit to maintain 140F. The unit will ONLY shut off if it overheats to above 180F; this product must be manually turned on and off.”

Testing your K&H heated pad

You'll notice that the K&H heated may not feel warm to the touch, this is normal!! The heat will dissipate into the air unless there is something on the pad or leaning against the pad.

You can test the pad by placing a large pillow on top of the pad. After about 20 minutes, feel under the pillow. It will feel warm, not hot.

Question:	So this thermo-poultry brooder the chicks walk under to stay warm right
Answer:	Obviously, you need electricity for starters.. I guess how drafty it is could be an issue. If it wasn't drafty, I would say it would be successful if you set it up correctly. The plate is what gets warm, so they gather under and above it. The area surrounding the plate does not get particularly warm. I would say 20-30 chicks would be the most I would do per heating plate, if they were in a barn. I went from a heating lamp to this, and plan to do my next batch in the barn after using this. (We usually raise them inside our house when we start them out.) It does get very cold where I live.

Question:	Will this work for my outdoor sulcata tortoise? he has a rancho/hut usually use a red heat bulb
Answer:	I think it will. It emits infrared heat but from elements rather than a bulb. They come in several different sizes so, depending on how cold it gets in your area, you can use a high wattage or low wattage. I live in Colorado and use it in my chicken coop. I use the large one and it cranks out about the same amount of heat that the bulb does. The only glitch is you don't know if it's working or not but I have had mine for a couple years with no problems. Of course, I only use it in the winter but I used to go through several bulbs each winter.

Answer:	We have one of these for this exact purpose, ours is a fully insulated dog house but for cats. It works great!
Question:	I bought the 100w and my house is 64 degrees but i need my animal cage at 78 and i can’t get the bulb to heat over 70, do i need a 150w
Answer:	Without the size and the type of walls, can even start to give you an answer. All I know is that I was expecting more heat from the 150 watt that I brought. I am using two 150 watt bulbs in a 6 ft x 8 ft green house. The bulbs go on around 35 deg F, and turns off at around 40 deg F. I do not believe the two 150 watt units and 1 100 watt light bulb can keep the temp over 32 deg F.

Answer:	I have one against the outside wall of a cat house and it has been safe and effective all winter. I don't know that I would place it inside because it actually get's pretty hot, so that might not be safe. It's really meant to keep the animals warm from a few inches or more away.

Answer:	The no simple way to answer with out a full heat balance calculation. But I have an out door coop thats about 4’x4’x4’ with an insulated roof but also a reasonable amount of venting. I can keep it it about 20* above ambient with 3 of these.
