Answer:	It does have a rubber o-ring but it is not in the lid is actually on the top of the jar the one you were thinking of might have been a Brower. These are a pretty trouble free waterer and you can buy replacement O-rings Lids bases etc

Question:	I am having trouble getting the chickens to drink from this after having used different systems previously. Any suggestions
Answer:	I hung the feeder with the drinking ports about head height for my chickens and put a bowl of water on the ground below it. The chickens switched to the new system in about 48 hours. I'm wondering if you could put a little yogurt on each drinking nipple for incentive. My chickens LOVE yogurt!!! Good luck. I still think this system is the best thing ever for easy and low maintenance care.
Question:	The handle on my bucket isn't tall enough to hang thr waterer with the no roost cone. Can I get a replacement
Answer:	I took that part off and my chickens never rooster onit. I could fill it or add water without taking to hold thing down, which I did to clean it which was less often than just adding water from the top thru the hole in the red top. I found it practically impossible to remove the red top. I used everything like pliers but it was still too tight. I should've sent it back for that reason.

Instructions: remove the lid, Insert the De-Icer all the way to the bottom of the waterer, add the water and connect the De-Icer to power. Answer:	About 2 ft. Shorter than I'd like but i just use extension cords.

Answer:	You fill from the bottom. Either you flip the unit over and remove the rubber plug in the red base and fill through that opening, or you give the base a turn and remove the entire base and fill the white plastic jug directly, then reapply the base. Contrary to other opinions, the construction of the waterer is fine. We are on our 3rd year of using this waterer full time (only plugged in during the winter, obviously) and have had no trouble with it. Sure it is a little cumbersome, but this is a pretty basic unit.
Question:	I purchased the "All-Seasons" Heated Plastic Poultry Fountain - 3 Gal. Model HPF-100, 100-Watt in the fall. Do you sell replacement plugs for it
Answer:	I dont sell plugs, nor do i recommend this waterer, bad design.
Question:	I hate that you have to fill this from the bottom. Has anyone drilled a hole in the top and used a funnel to fill it
Answer:	You could drill a hole (any size) but you will have to have an insert to glue into the hole with a threaded plug inside and gasket to seal it up after each filling. If you leave the hole open or the plug leaks air, the water will all drain out. I'd look to a gas filler insert used on boat gas tanks as a potential. Google Boat Supplies or Mueller (they make gas tanks for boats). There may be other inserts you can find. Just has to seal TIGHT.

Answer:	It is 3/8 ths. I purchased the pvc fittings on amazon that were suggested for the the standard water cups. RentACoop's fit fine but are pretty tight fitting. I could not find these pvc fittings in any of the hardware stores.

Answer:	About 3cms .. it’s literally on the floor it’s tiny legs done do much so it’s always getting stuff kicked into it.. if using it for water. We haven’t found it any good at all. I think small bird feeder and hang up

Question:	Can this sit on a base instead of hanging
Answer:	There is a special base that is sold for this waterer but I put mine on the ground or on a raised surface. It is far too heavy for my set up when full to hang.

Answer:	My little cap broke after a few years. I just went through my cupboards and found a cap the same size on some random old water bottle that worked. You can also buy replacements on Amazon, and I am sure elsewhere, but the shipping will cost more than the cap.

Answer:	The 5-gallon version of this waterer says it is often sold with the Harris Farms Heated Poultry Drinker Base, and the description of that item says that it "Can be Used with Plastic or Metal Drinkers." So I'd say yes, it can be used with a heater base.
Question:	I lost the little black cap. Is there some way I can get a replacement or two
Answer:	As you have discovered, it does not work without the small black cap. Carefully inspect the label for company name and address. from that you can find a phone. call them and order one or more. BTW, I used this for a long time, but when I got a new large flock it was not longer big enough. I studied YouTube videos, but nothing really worked well enough as I live in very cold climate so EVERY thing outside the heated coop freezes. I finally made the best and cheapest solution for myself. From Home Depot I bought a 5 gallon, white, food grade bucket and one of their tops that screws on and off. I ordered from Amazon a set of horizontal red nipples. The bucket is thick enough that after drilling holes about 1.25 in. above the bottom on one half of the bucket, I screwed the nipples into six holes (used just a little teflon tape). This solution holds a full five gallons; is easy to fill because of opening lid; the water stays perfectly clean to the very bottom (unlike the Little Giant). I put it in the coop on a stand so nipples are at beak height. I have 15 chickens and the water lasts them three to four days nice and clean. I always put a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in the five gallons. They are super healthy and laying large eggs all through this deep winter. my previous flock stopped laying all winter.
