User questions & answers

Question: Does it come with a converter
Answer: Somewhat. More likely you're thinking of "ghosting", seeing the lines on one side when looking at the converse. That happens with all paper to some extent. You didn't mention the gsm (grams per square meter property) of your copy paper, but I suspect it's 20lb/75gsm - marginal with a fountain pen. Most fountain pen affectionados recommend paper that has at least 80 gsm, which is why Moleskin tablets and journals which have a gsm of 80 or 85are sometimes recommended. Many journals are made with 100 to 120 gsm paper and are intended for fountain and calligraphic pens. There is also a surface texture issue. Lots of paper made for ball point pen, such as binder paper, will cause your fountain pen to "feather" - bleed (wick) ink sideways as the ink dries. At the other extreme "Stone" paper has a very smooth surface. It will neither bleed or ghost (much), but you MUST wait long enough for the ink to dry before letting anything touch the surface as that paper is hardly porous at all. And some inks seem to take forever with that paper. To stop bleed through, put a "sacrificial" sheet under the page you are writing on and re-use the sacrificial one as you work through pages. This will not stop bleed through, but it will keep the next page from taking up any of ink. BTW - the faster you write the less ink deposited and thus the less bleed, feathering, and ghosting.
Question: Will this show through a piece of regular loose-leaf paper
Answer: The number denotes the color of the pen body
Question: Are there fine point refills
Answer: I do not think so. I have looked for Lamy refills in the gel ink and I cannot find them
Question: has anyone tried using different refills? I feel like the m63 refill is not very smooth
Answer: 15/16th of an inch to the tip of the body of the pen. The refill sticks out another eighth of an inch.

User questions & answers

Question: whats the difference between 2000 matte and 2000? I found the price between 2000 matte fine and 2000 EF are different. Is there any meaning for matte
Answer: Make the scissors clamp the diamond rod like cutting something and push it back in. Do not pull back. Repeat several times. The diamond rod inside the lightning slot automatically adjusts the angle to Sharpening different scissors.I will add pictures to the list to inform how to use it soon. Thank you。
Question: Is this a genuine Lamy product
Answer: Hello. Thank you for your valuable suggestions, we will continue to improve our products to give consumers the best experience. Thank you.
Question: What does 'filo' mean in the description
Answer: There is a manual in it that may be lost during transportation. CRUDE is rough grinding, FINE is the V shape of the recovery knife, and ESSENCE is polishing and eliminating burrs on the metal blade. The sharpening step is CRUDE, FINE and last ESSENCE. Follow this sequence when sharpening the knife, just pull the knife back to sharpen it, and grind it 3 to 10 times depending on the wear of your tool.
Question: With minimal pressure, does this pen produce a line thicker or thinner than a Lamy Safari
Answer: I do not know the difference between the 006 and 060 models, but had a similar hand sharpener - that I use for my kitchen knifes (tho this says for "garden tool"?) and I found no difference - both sharpened well.

User questions & answers

Question: is this item able to refill with black ink
Answer: The Dimensions for the DMT Double-Sided Diafold Sharpener are 4.33" x 0.875" x 0.25"
Question: What's the difference betweekn this model and the regular z24? thx
Answer: If you maintain the edge on your knife regularly the Fine/Extra Fine will be the best selection to keep it sharp. It's the one I use. If you are establishing the edge on a new knife the Fine/Coarse would be the one to use.
Question: I purchased the Lamy pen and this, but bubbles get in when it's refilled, causing the pen to have an uneven flow of ink. Any suggestions
Answer: Haven't tried it myself since I don't own any ceramic knives but it would appear that a diamond hone, diamond belt grinder, or a diamond wheel electric sharpener would all do the trick. Since the diamond hone is manual, it would take the longest. You might want to Google "kyocera ceramic sharpener" and/or "kyocera CDDS-50" (Amazon has a decent price on this item) or enter that same search term in YouTube to view sharpening demos. Based on what I read and saw, I might even get a ceramic knife in the near future.
Question: Is there a difference, other than color, between the Z24 (red top) & Z26 (black top
Answer: HI! Usually our non-adjustable angle sharpener angle is designed to 38 ~ 40 degrees, so that most knives can be practical. The upgraded angle-adjustable sharpener will be available online in a few days. Thank you very much.

Answer: No lamy delivers only with M cartridge all roller balls are delivered from lamy with M
Question: Can you change the nib to another LAMY nib of another size
Answer: The way this pen is designed it will take just about any gel refill. If the refill is too short wrap tape around the end to make it longer or stuff some paper in the barrel to take up some of the space.
Question: How does it compare to Pilot Metropolitan in writing experience? Which one is a smoother writer
Answer: Unfortunately, we do not currently ship to Brazil.
Question: Why did my pen begin skipping and not writing at all? I put in a new cartridge and same thing. If nib is clogged, how do I clean it

User questions & answers

Question: Im thinking about buying a lamy studio, which converter will fit it
Answer: Hi there The two sides of the black handle are engraved with clear Grit number. In fact, you can easily feel that the roughness of the two sides is completely different with your hand. Thank you
Question: what is the difference between the Z24 or Z28 converter, I see they work for the same ink pens/ so what would be the difference
Answer: Doing this had never occurred to me, but the fine side and strap would definitely give you precision sharpened tweezers.
Question: Can you use the converters more then once
Answer: Yes. I use it to sharpen my ax and several knives with varying thicknesses and it does a good job.
Question: Hi all. This has been partly answered. I'm aware you can use the converters more than once. My question: about how many refills are they good for
Answer: IMO no. To sharpen a lawn mower blade you have to remove a lot of material. A good file is better suited. The diamond grit will disappear quickly from this file. It is intended to put the final edge on knife blades and such.

User questions & answers

Question: Why isn't the warranty leaflet included? How can one know if the pen is authentic
Answer: Pretty sure matte is a finish. All lamy 2000 black are the same finish. There are other kinds like stainless steel. And Extra Fine is just a nib preference. So why cost more? Idk.. maybe Fine is more common and so costs less than Extra fine. Maybe it's a warehouse stocking thing. I'd advise you to play with different nibs before picking one because of price.. a nib for a lamy is 120 dollars.. if you don't like Fine or Extra fine.. well it's a lot to guess imo. I'd rather buy 3 lamy safari's and find the nib you like than guess.
Question: can I change the nib on this pen
Answer: I’m pretty sure. If my job was to make fountain pen knock-offs I think I would focus on Montblancs and not the modestly priced Lamy 2000.
Question: What does 13 M mean? Thanks in advance
Answer: I think you mean "fine" not "filo." Fine is the size of the nib. Nibs come fine, medium and large. Also in various italic configurations.
Question: Do the ink cartridge last and not dry out? i had several fountain peas by jane davenport. unfortunately when i went to use they had all dried out
Answer: Connor, I would look here: http://www.gouletpens.com/Comparison_Tools_s/1499.htm The Goulet Pens website has an excellent nib comparison tool where you can compare the line widths of multiple pens. Keep in mind it all depends on the pressure exerted when writing. From personal experience, I would say the Lamy 2000 produces a slightly thicker line in general writing because the nib has a slight "give" to it and also an abundant amount of tipping material. If you exert absolute minimal pressure I think they would be about the same, although again, in general writing I think the L2k is going to give you a slightly juicier/thicker line. Paper and ink combination of course will also give you varying results. I ordered a fine and I'm very happy with the line it delivers, although at first I thought I had made a mistake and thought I should go down to an extra fine. Good luck.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this pen come in a Lamy gift box? Or just in a cardbox
Answer: It's been awhile but seems to me that they "test" the pens with blue ink so you'll see leftover blue. I got my wonderful pen with black and worried that it would be tough finding additional cartridges but Amazon came through every time. People always comment on receiving mail in calligraphy.
Question: Does this pen come in a Lamy gift box? Or just in a cardbox
Answer: You bring up a good question. There was no seal on the box and I did inspect the pen. It is my understanding the pen is legitimate. However, if you are not satisfied with the pen, Amazon is very good about accepting returned items.
Question: Is the ink blue or black
Answer: Mine did not come with one.
Question: Does this pen come in a box? Thanks in advance
Answer: Depends on quality of the paper. With inexpensive paper the ink tends to bleed. This would be true for almost any ink/pen.

Lamy rollerballs are a good alternative to fountain pens or ballpoint pens. Combine the best of the two classic categories: rollerball pens are as easy to operate as ballpoint pens. When the rollerball is retracted, the clip is raised so the pen can be clipped onto a jacket pocket.

  • Writes with a wonderful and precise flow with ball and ink.
  • As you extend the tip of its large capacity refill,When you operate the push button again after writing, the refill retracts and the clip moves out again ready for use. The clip retracts into the pen body.
  • This Cap-less roller ball pen with retractable clip enables extraordinary smooth and precise penmanship.

User questions & answers

Question: what kind of metal is the barrel made of
Answer: I don’t know the answer to that. I teach aqua yoga at an outdoor pool 75 feet in length and width. I place the speaker poolside in the middle of that length. Everyone in the pool can hear me and that is without the volume turned all the way up. I use half of the pool. The speaker is quite loud and one is sufficient.
Question: Is it supposed to come with ink? Mine just arrived, and it has no ink tube inside of it, nor in the packaging
Answer: Sorry, the green-wireless voice amplifier M800 comes with a UHF wireless microphone headset not a Bluetooth headset Mic, and you can only connect Bluetooth via the waterproof voice speaker's Bluetooth mode to come true the function. Please kindly noted it and have a nice day
Question: Can I fill this with fountain pen ink
Answer: Yes, we are doing that at our church. It works whether you use Bluetooth or the USB dongle. The pastor has a remote and the powerpoint operator has another.
Question: can i use pilot g2 refill with this pen
Answer: Don’t know. I only own Apple products.

User questions & answers

Question: Should this pen be skipping? i can't get my pen to write. i ordered other lamy's from the goulet pen company and they write so smoothly, help
Answer: Medium, but you can order whatever size suits you.
Question: Does this come with a flexible nib
Answer: The Lamy m16 refill is the best refill to use, but it's not that great of a refill in my experience. Without heavy modification or spending more than this pen costs for tip and refill adapters on Shapeways, not many other refills will work with this one. Most of the popular refills are either too thin and small (D1) or have too fat of a tip and too long of a barrel (Pilot G2). This pen is unfortunately not nearly as versatile as the capped Safari pen.
Question: Does this pen come with ink cartridges? If so how many and are they blue or black
Answer: This is a plastic pen
Question: is this pen legit? My pen came in unmarked black box with no seal.. It did not look the official lamy joy packaging and my nib has scratches
Answer: I have several Lamys with fine nibs. I can't tell about that one. The yellow one and the red ones I bought did come with a fine nib.

User questions & answers

Question: Does the body of this pen scratch easily
Answer: This converter is used to give the pen an internal resevoir, so instead of using pre-filled, expensive cartidges, you can use bottled ink in the color of your choice. Blue or black or purple or green- if it comes in a bottle, go for it.
Question: Do you sell a lamy replacement cap for this pen? I went to a meeting and left it on the lectern. Pen was a gift from dear friend and I use it daily
Answer: They are practically identical, I believe the only difference is that one has a metal piece and the other is all plastic. They work the same though.
Question: does this come with an ink cartridge
Answer: This is the way I do it --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smUqQZF7VkY
Question: Why is this color $10-$20 more than the other colors in this same model
Answer: The Z24 (red one) only fits the Al-Star, Joy, Nexx, Safari, and Vista. The Z26 (black one) fits all these as well, though it is the only one that can be used in the Accent, CP1, Dialog 3, Logo, Pur, Scala, and Studio.
