Answer:	Hold the pen with the nib facing upwards. slowly twist the knob on the converter so that the plunger rises all the way up. Stop when the ink starts pooling out of the nib and back off. Dip the nib into the bottle of ink and slowly turn the knob to pull the ink up into the reservoir. When the plunger is all the way up, you are done.

Answer:	This textbook covers many hands: Monoline, Gothic, Roman, Foundational, Brush lettering, Italic, Versals, Uncial, Hebrew, Neuland, Blackletter, Old English, Pointed Pen, Spencerian, Roundhand, Sign Painting and Display lettering. It is wonderful textbook that teaches how to use all of the Speedball nibs. I am not a fan of Speedball. I use Brause Nibs. I find that they are better made and last longer. I recommend this book and all of the Speedball textbooks. They have hand that were developed over the past century. It is worth the investment.

Answer:	I have a black color pen and use it daily. Over time, the color coating will wear off (in small batches and especially around the area where the cap closes at the body), and reveals a bronze-like color beneath. At other scratched areas at the top of the cap, the underlying color is a metallic gray. But it still looks nice and I continue to use as one of my many daily carries.

How to fill a fountain pen with cartridges:



Insert the narrow end of the new cartridge into the black of section block with enough pressure to create a snug fit. The pin inside the section block will puncture the seal of the cartridges, allowing ink to flow into the section block. Screw the barrel on over the cartridge into the section block.

When you fill the pen at the first time, you can swing the pen to make a few drops of ink coming out of the nib, so that it can flow easily.
