Answer:	If your old Cross is a rollerball, the current refill will fit. If a ballpoint, no it will not. Be sure NOT to get the slim gel refill; these are manufactured strictly for the newer Cross Click pens. I will be honest and tell you that the current manufacturing of the gel rollerball leaves much to be desired. I gave up using them unless I could find a knock-off from an off-brand manufacturer because the gel pens tend to sit on the shelf too long and don't then work well. It is hard to know if you are receiving a newly made one (which work fine) or one which has been on the shelf for a while. In my experience, buying Cross branded refills directly from the Cross website gives you a better chance than one from Amazon or an office supply store.

Question:	What is the pen's metal casing like, is it durable
Answer:	I have a black color pen and use it daily. Over time, the color coating will wear off (in small batches and especially around the area where the cap closes at the body), and reveals a bronze-like color beneath. At other scratched areas at the top of the cap, the underlying color is a metallic gray. But it still looks nice and I continue to use as one of my many daily carries.

Answer:	It should just pull off? It may be bit tight at first but it just pulls off. Try twisting it a bit to the left or counter clockwise. Remember righty tighty? If you cannot remove it for some reason then respond back through Amazon. Scriveiner pens have an extensive warranty. They will gladly send you another one for free. Amazon has the same deal at least for Prime Members. In fact I also purchased the Schmidt 5888 Ceramic Rollerball Metal Tube Refill Fine Point 0.6mm, Black, 2 Pack Blister (SC58100). It comes with two Schmidt 888F liquid ink refills (One is obviously already in the pen). However, I’m fussy and I prefer the extra fine tip which is the 06mm tip. It is a fantastic pen of which I highly recommend. I was considering purchasing another one so I can keep one in my home office and the other in a smaller portable table I purchased at Staples. In the email you received from Amazon should have a pdf document attached that has extensive information about their pen. I’m a pen fanatic and I’ve never seen a pen come with a 4-page pdf document . Answer:	Hi ,Yes ,each of them come with one converter ,they work with both bottle ink and cartridges .
Question:	How do i make these pens not scratchy? using tomoe river paper and inks like diamine, herbin, pilot, mont blanc. it doesn't write easily, is scratchy
Answer:	The tip of a fountain pen nib is usually made from a ball of very hard metal, to resist the wear of writing on paper. if you look closely (with a magnifier), you will see that this ball is split with an extremely fine saw cut forming the capillary that draws the ink to the tip. For smooth writing, both sides (tines) of the nib must be aligned perfectly. If one is lower than the other, it will present a scratchy edge, which will drag in one direction more than the other. This can be corrected by gently bending the tines back in alignment. Watch the Youtube "Adjusting Your Fountain Pen" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuq9tuKRbCY) video, for some instructions. It takes patience and practice to learn how to do this.Another problem that causes scratchiness is roughness of the nib ball, usually found on cheap nibs which were not fully polished by the manufacturer. You can polish it out yourself, but the hard metal tip makes polishing slow. For an abrasive, I use 4 mil Herculene drafting film. The matt surface is a very fine and gentle abrasive, which will eventually leave the nib tip glassy smooth, after much looping and swooping over the surface (with ink). In really bad cases, I slip the edge of the drafting film between the tines, and slide the nib back and forth several times, then turn the film over and do it again, to get the other tine. Of course, you can replace the nib with a better one, but the new nib probably costs much more than these pens, and you will have to search long to find the right size. There are YouTube videos about that, too.After tuning and polishing, I have several Jinhao 599 pens that write smoothly, and a few that I can't make as smooth as I would like.I really enjoy tinkering with pens, but not everyone does. If this sounds like too much trouble, maybe you should look at some better pens.The smoothest writing pens I have are the Waterman Philias Medium point, the Lamy Safari Medium point, and an old Cross (Townsend?) with a gold nib, Medium Point. These pens came from the factory well polished and adjusted. All of these pens are more expensive than the Jinhao 599.P.S. If you want a very nice writing, inexpensive fountain pen, try the Pilot Varsity disposable pen. I have used a number of these, and all worked right, right out of the box.

5 TIPS TO ENSURE GOOD INK FLOW IN YOUR FOUNTAIN AND CALLIGRAPHY PENS

• Each cartridge measures approx 40mm (1.5") in length. Please compare with your current cartridge to make sure it will fit your pen.
• NEVER use waterproof ink as this will clog your pen.
• DO NOT squeeze your cartridge to stimulate ink flow. This will damage the cartridge
• DO NOT drop or even tap your pen against a hard surface as this is likely to damage both the nib, the cartridge and even the seal between the lid and the body of the pen. To avoid accidental damage, always replace the cap after use. This also stops the ink from drying inside the pen.
• OCCASIONALLY wash the nib after use as per the following instructions: Carefully remove the old ink cartridge, placing it on a paper towel to protect against potential leakage. Now gently rinse the nib in soapy, warm water until water runs clear. Dry thoroughly before putting in a new cartridge. Make sure when you put the new ink cartridge in, you push firmly enough to hear a loud "click". This is how you know the ink is inserted correctly.

STEP 1

Disassemble the Pen:

Unscrew your pen’s barrel from the feed section.

STEP 2

Insert your cartridge:

Find the opening of the cartridge and insert it into the pen’s feed section.

STEP 3

Press Firmly:

Push the cartridge firmly into the feed until you feel the cartridge puncture. This may take more force than you expect. You will be rewarded by a satisfying "click"!

STEP 4

Leave the Pen Tip Down:

It can take a while for the ink to fully saturate the pen, so don’t worry if it doesn’t start writing right away. You should shake it gently if you would like to speed up the process, although this may result in a small amount of leakage or spillage.

Answer:	Many food processors come with white paste because it is a lubricant. My meat slicer came with a white lube for the blade gears. I can't say for sure for this product but meat grinders,slicers and so on have a white lube

All our pens come with a high-quality standard converter to use with bottled ink. You can, also, load up your Dryden pen with ink cartridges. Dryden pens all accept International Standard Size Cartridges (not included with the pen for safety reasons). Question:	Should this pen be skipping? i can't get my pen to write. i ordered other lamy's from the goulet pen company and they write so smoothly, help
Answer:	Medium, but you can order whatever size suits you.
Question:	Does this come with a flexible nib
Answer:	The Lamy m16 refill is the best refill to use, but it's not that great of a refill in my experience. Without heavy modification or spending more than this pen costs for tip and refill adapters on Shapeways, not many other refills will work with this one. Most of the popular refills are either too thin and small (D1) or have too fat of a tip and too long of a barrel (Pilot G2). This pen is unfortunately not nearly as versatile as the capped Safari pen.

Answer:	This is a plastic pen
Question:	is this pen legit? My pen came in unmarked black box with no seal.. It did not look the official lamy joy packaging and my nib has scratches
Answer:	I have several Lamys with fine nibs. I can't tell about that one. The yellow one and the red ones I bought did come with a fine nib.
