Anyways the two versions are: A1863 which works on all carriers GSM (AT&T/T-Mobil) and CDMA(Verizon/Sprint) and model A1905 which ONLY works on GSM carriers (AT&T and T-Mobil). Answer:	I purchased a new set of these phones to replace a worn out 10 year old Panasonic set. I did notice the batteries needed to be fully charged 3 or 4 times before reaching max talk time. After a week or so on my desk ( and FULLY charging the batteries every other day) the phones now hold a charge quite well. These phones also provide an audible prompt when the battery level is low. I feel the batteries need to be 'conditioned' with repeated LOW BATTERY and FULLY CHARGED cycles before holding the longer charges. After a month or so of daily use I'm well satisfied with this set.
