Answer:	Language specific. I had 2 of these and neither one lasted more than 6 months. I do not recommend this device.

Answer:	It has 30+ languages (on the device, no connection required) in its speech to speech applications and 183 languages in its universal word translator. What makes it "Spanish" is three apps just for Spanish (all bidirectional): 1.2 million word translation dictionary, Language Teacher (very, very cool program), and 7,000 word audio phrasebook; yes, you can buy these separately for many other languages.

Answer:	These are separate apps; you can run two apps simultaneously on an Android device. I haven't tried running Skype with a translation app, but I don't see why it would not work. My preference would be to Skype from another device (e.g., laptop) and use the LUX3 for translation. Either way, the other person will hear you speak English into the device and then you will both hear the translation in Spanish. You have to press and hold the microphone (onscreen) button while speaking, so you will need some cue such as other person counts down 3-2-1 with fingers then you press button.
