User questions & answers
Question: | I didn't really understand the inputs on this mixer. So I have 3 electric guitars, and an electronic drum kit. Can all of these, with mic,be connected |
Answer: | This mixer does not have sufficient mono channels for your application. Channels 2-3 and 4-5 are stereo inputs (meaning they are contolled with the same fader). Some of the larger Xenyx mixers will get you the inputs you need.... something with at least 5 distinct faders to control each instrument's mix individually.Hope this helps. :-) |
Question: | Does this mixer support 48V Phantom Power |
Answer: | Most microphones do not require 48 volts of phantom power. Many condenser microphones only require somewhere between 4 and 12 volts. You should check your mic. It looks like this is a 15 volt feed. |
Question: | Can this mixer connect to a PC via a soundcard |
Answer: | Yes, to an analog soundcard. All you need is a 1/8" stereo to dual-RCA cord. Mixer has both input and output RCA capability, so you could feed the output of the mixer to the line/mic of the soundcard or feed the output of the soundcard (line out/speaker out) to the input of the mixer. There is also a headphone jack on the mixer so that could also be patched back to the soundcard's line in/mic. For me, I am usually running the PC speaker out to the mixer RCA input -- the volume is controlled by the Main, and then I can either use headphones from the mixer or run the 1/4" output into my guitar amp. Hope this helps. |
Question: | What does the 2 track input do |
Answer: | The 2 track input allows you to connect an external music source to the xenxyx mixer and then into an amplifier with speakers or headphones using the outputs located near the top. The external music source can be anything that has the red and white RCA outputs such as a cassette/CD player or VCR/disc player (the red and white input/output for the 2 track are called RCA connectors). This is so you can plug in your CD player and also a microphone and an instrument that has a 1/4" output such as a guitar or electric piano and have it all mixed together. Just below the 2 track input are a couple of buttons that allow you to choose whichever output you want, either headphones or amplified speakers (main out). The 2 track outputs on the mixer will allow you to send the vocals and/or instrument mix to a recording device that has the red and white RCA inputs. I hope this helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would this work for a computer ? how could i plug this in for usb |
Answer: | We recommend not to record on computer, but only to use computer to provide background music for karaoke. Then you just need to connect laptop and K036 via the 3.5mm cable, not need for the USB. |
Question: | What to do if the background music is too loud and the mixed mics is too quiet |
Answer: | (K036)1.Use 1/4" audio cable instead of RCA cable to connect the receiver with speaker/amp through 1/4" jack. 2.Turn down the input music. Or stream the music to speaker/amp directly so that you can adjust the volume of music and mics separately. |
Question: | Can i use it with this karaoke mixer b00s82b0va |
Answer: | (K036) No, we would not recommend to use it with karaoke mixer, karaoke machine or receiver. Especially it's not suitable to connect with this mixer we sell. |
Question: | The receiver has a knob for music, one for echo. Is this a Karaoke mixer |
Answer: | (K036) Hi Chetan, the receiver has similar function as a karaoke mixer. There are separated knobs for the background music, for the volume of each mic, for echo and for the volume the third mic (not included). So you don't need to find an extra mixer to work with this mic system (K036), you just need a amp or speaker to output the mixed audio and music. Thanks~Fifine |

Ultra-Compact 9-Band Graphic Equalizer with FBQ
If we all lived in a perfect world, there would be no need for audio equalization. Sound systems would be perfect and would reproduce perfect signals in all their glorious perfection. Also, everyone in that perfect world would like the same amount of bass, midrange and high frequency, and there would be no such thing as feedback. But the world isn't perfect, is it? Even the best sound system can benefit from the use of a good EQ--like the FBQ800.
![]() Even the best sound system can benefit from the use of a good EQ. Click to enlarge. |
![]() 1/4-inch and RCA inputs and outputs. |
![]() Nine steps of graphic EQ. |
How Does it Work?
Imagine the frequency range of the sound you hear as a highway, a very wide one with nine lanes. Each of these "lanes" represents a single octave of the sonic spectrum. The first four lanes, labeled 63 - 500 (Hz) contain the really low frequency sound content, mainly bass, bass vocals, and the kick and tom drums. The three lanes labeled 1 k, 2 k and 4 k (Hz), make up the fundamental zone of most musical instruments and the male and female vocals. 8 k and 16 k cover the frequency range of cymbals, snare drums and higher pitched percussion instruments. The FBQ800 allows you to control the flow of audio traffic in each of these nine lanes. When properly applied, EQ makes it possible to hear all of these frequency ranges equally, thus the term equalization.
Feedback Elimination
When a specific frequency, or range of frequencies, reaches too high a level, feedback occurs--that all-too-familiar squeal or howl you get when the mic is too close to the speaker. Basically, feedback happens when there is so much of a particular frequency that it is picked up by the mic and run through the system again. That's why feedback typically gets louder and louder the longer it's allowed to occur. Needless to say, this kind of feedback is very undesirable.
This is where the FBQ800's Feedback Detection System really works its magic. In this ingenious circuitry, LEDs on the individual faders light up when that frequency band is approaching the danger zone. All you need do is lower the illuminated slider until the LED blinks out--voilá, feedback problem solved! What once required a highly trained ear is now an activity that even a child can master.
Sonic Toolkit
That really is the best way to describe the FBQ800. With its nine frequency bands, you easily fine-tune your sound and instantly eliminate feedback. And each fader can be used to boost or cut the frequency range it controls by as much as 12 dB (and that's a lot!).
Special attention is paid to the low frequency zone. In addition to low frequency faders, the FBQ800 features a Low Cut filter for removing unwanted low frequencies such as fl oor rumble, room resonance, electrical hum, etc. This is especially handy if your system is being used for speech rather than music.
To Boost or to Cut, That is the Question
Raising and lowering specific frequency bands can improve the frequency response of any room's acoustics. For instance, if the room you're in is "bass-heavy," lowering the 63 and 125 Hz faders can help eliminate an overall "boomy" or "muddy" sound. Likewise, gently boosting the 8 and 16 k sliders can add sparkle to a somewhat "dark" mix. Are the vocals getting lost in the mix? Raising the level of the 1 k slider can help bring them out.
It's important to note that raising a single fader level is not always the best solution; it's often better to lower the bands surrounding the frequency you want to bring out, and then boost the overall volume level to achieve better headroom.
Built for Accuracy and Reliability
Speaking of headroom, FBQ800's 6-digit LED Input/Output meters and level control are provided for precise level maintenance. Longterm reliability is ensured, thanks to high-quality illuminated faders and switches, and our ultra low-noise audio operational amplifiers provide outstanding sonic performance. In addition, all Mini Series components may be stacked to create an ultracompact signal processing solution.

User questions & answers
Question: | What type of cables are required to hook this up between an amplifier and yamaha receiver? Much appreciated |
Answer: | Both |
Question: | Can you adjust each channel (left/right) separately |
Answer: | Nope, the only things lit are the little indicator lights for power +/- 12dbs and something else. |
Question: | I see many mention that they use this for helping hearing loss by using this unit with headphones. My question is how do you use this with headphones |
Answer: | They are very clean sounding eqs. |
Question: | does it connect to amplifier |
Answer: | First, this is not a player. This is a tone control with instead of just the normal bass, treble and high, divides it into 31 (from 20HZ to 20KHZ). Also, this model is mono (1 channel). You can get 2 of these or get the stereo model. You still need an amplifier and a player. You hook this up between a like a CD player and your amp. |

User questions & answers
Question: | FX has long echo effect. Does it provide good echo effect as that of other mixers? Is echo effect is also in Behringer 802 mixer |
Answer: | This is the correct cable to use when going stereo to mono. Stereo(2 black rings on actual 3.5mm input prong) to mono(one black ring on 1/4" input prong). BUT 'thru your i-phone'? IDK, thats a little vague. I use this cable with a Guitar/I-Rig/I-Pad/AMP. Guitar 1/4" patch cable out from I-Rig to Guitar. This cable's 3.5mm stereo end from I-Rig to AMPLIFIER 1/4" input. I-Rig into I-Pad headphone jack. |
Question: | Is this effects mixer good for Karaoke |
Answer: | There are no resistors in this wire. The stereo signals are simply shorted together. This cable's proper use is 1/4" mono output to a 3.5mm stereo input. |
Question: | I keep seeing that a mixer doesn’t record voices?? how can i use this for a podcast? whatelse do i need |
Answer: | I've been using it to connect ipad/iphone/portable DVD player to a PA system with no problems at all. |
Question: | Can you apply the digital effects to just certain inputs like 2 mics, but leave the music alone? I'm looking to upgrade from the 802 without FX |
Answer: | It's designed to split in 2 outputs from 1 input and not 3 outputs |

User questions & answers
Question: | how to plug into speakers |
Answer: | It's not a "powered mixer" you have to plug the main output into an amp then the speakers into the amp. Or plug the main output into "powered speakers" like krk rokit 8's. |
Question: | How much time does it work on batteries |
Answer: | The manual that comes with it says 4 hours. Are there any owners who have real world experience with battery life? |
Question: | This mixer can hold up to 4 mics, correct? I'm looking for something to use in group discussions |
Answer: | This sound board has 5 XLR phantom powered inputs. Therefore, you may have up to five microphones using this type of input cable. In addition to this, you have 1/4" cable inputs, and RCA inputs for extra mic's, or sound from other devices, such as your computer or a CD player. For these reasons, this board makes a great tool for doing group discussions. |
Question: | what is the difference between the 1002b and the |
Answer: | Quite a bit of difference. The amount of XLR connections available, the 1002B has 5 compared to the 2 available on the 1002. There are 2 monitor/fx sends on the 1002B as to 1 on the 1002. All of the channels have EQ on the 1002B, the 1002 does not. The 1002B uses slider faders for the channels as compared to rotary faders on the 1002. The 1002B utilizes a power switch to turn the mixer on/off, the 1002 does not have a power switch. The 1002B offers the option of using batteries to power the mixer for portable use, not the 1002. I could not find anything about the 1002 shipping with rack ear adapters. The 1002B came with rack ears making installation in my gear rack a breeze. All of these observations are from me looking at the images on the Behringer website for the 1002 as I do not own one. I do own the 1002B. Hope this helps with your decision. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I add microphones |
Answer: | You can't add wireless mics, but you can use 2 extra wired mics |
Question: | If this mixer is in between soundbar and the Firetv stick, will video streaming still get 5.1 audio. it seems the mic/mixer will only outpout 2chan |
Answer: | Very good question. I think this is a Stereo mixer, I guess it will downgrade the 5.1 audio to Stereo and mix it with the Mic and send the audio out in Stereo format, either through HDMI or the Audio output. However, I cannot verify this as I do not have a 5.1 source, my karaone device comes with Stereo audio only. |
Question: | Do you have european power adapter |
Answer: | This runs on 5V using USB power. You can any USB power source like the ones you use to charge a phone. |
Question: | Will this work with a hdmi splitter to connect a soundbar and tv thru hdmi? Firestick to device out to splitter to tv and soundbar |
Answer: | I have tried connecting this mixer to a HDMI Selector (4 In 1 Out) Input and the Output of the Selector to a Soundbar and it works well. I have not tried splitting the Output of this mixer to 2 destination devices, but I think it should work. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the mixer show up as an audio output from the Mac via USB and then allow you to mix that output back into the input via USB |
Answer: | Yes it will. This is also a direct box, so you can plug it to the board (or snake, however you want to call it). |
Question: | anyone know why when I record with this mixer noise occurs? I've tried everything, but always noise occurs during the entire recording |
Answer: | It sounds like you are going for the same sound but a little more power, but if it’s because you want to use the XLR out to go to a snake or mixer as a DI box then I don’t know much about that type of setup. I think you just need 9v power to the DI box, plug in your instrument then run the XLR out to the mixer or whatever the house system is (and I think you can use the 1/4in out at the same time if you want a monitor). As for settings there really aren’t any. It’s got 6 pots and a ground lift switch. So you can dial in a range of settings. The ground lift switch is the only real setting and it’s for ground noise issues I believe. But if you are running from this to a combo amp and just want a gain boost I’m not sure if this is the best thing for that just because the goal of the presence, drive, eq section and blend pots on this pedal IS to color your tone. I may be wrong but I think a small dedicated pre-amp, boost pedal or even an EQ with a gain boost might be better. However, if you do use this and want just your clean sound try middling everything and then kick it on and off as you play. Adjust accordingly until you have the tone you want but with just the boost. Hope that helps. |
Question: | Can you record multiple seperate tracks simataneously with this |
Answer: | I have used this as a preamp |
Question: | Where specifically can I go to download the free audio editing software |
Answer: | Is it plug in |

User questions & answers
Question: | Has anybody in the last few months had a problem with the FX board? I had an older behringer that had problems with the capacitors |
Answer: | I haven't taken it apart to check, but it basically just splits the same signal into two outputs so I would expect its wired in parallel. |
Question: | how many tracks |
Answer: | This not for sending 1 thing to 2 outputs, this is to put 2 things in and send to 1 output. Like a mic and a guitar to 1 amp. |
Question: | Can you record multiple tracks to a computer simultaneously and edit those independant tracks later? Or does it just record 1 stereo audio |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Got mine this week - and have discovered that the only way you can hear music from your PC at the same time you're playing is with headphones |
Answer: | Yes, this will work with any 1/4" TS cable, which is cool because you can choose any color/ length/ right angle/ straight cord you want. It is a passive switch - just plug in and play (or switch channels). HTH |

Studio-Quality Compressor - Stairway to Heaven
Our studio-grade compressor is based on classic and famous studio equipment from the 70’s. This totally transparent and musical compressor design allows your full dynamic range to shine through until your signal reaches the compression threshold, which is indicated by the highly visible status LED. The compressor increases sustain and gently smoothens out signal peaks, which is especially handy when you’re laying down the funk, à la slap and pop – or hammering home your most-aggressive metal lines. The resulting output level lets you unleash powerful and impact-laden bass lines, while still sitting right where you need to be in the mix!
Sublimely Musical British EQ
The British consoles of the 1960s and ‘70s changed the sound of rock and roll – without them the British Invasion might not have happened. Those legendary mixing desks soon became the envy of engineers and producers all over the world. Built-in Digital Multi-FX Processor
Equipped with our studio-grade 24-bit Multi-FX processor, the X1222USB gives you 16 mind- blowing digital effect presets such as delay, chorus and reverb. Time-based functions can be entered manually by pressing the Tap button in tempo with the music. Apply them to any channel, as well as to the monitors and main output. Of course, if you have treasured outboard gear you’ve grown attached to, the X1222USB lets you integrate them into the mix – bypassing the built-in FX processor.
FBQ - Totally Feedback-Free
For more than 20 years, Behringer has designed and manufactured some of the most successful FBQ Feedback Elimination processors. Now you can own and enjoy the benefits of this technology, as we have integrated our revolutionary FBQ Feedback Detection System into this product, so your sound system is completely feedback-free, allowing you to focus on your performance. Utilizing an ultra-fast feedback detection system, this ingenious circuitry helps you recognize and tame feedback frequencies immediately. When feedback is sensed in a specific frequency range, the LED on the associated EQ fader illuminates, showing you at a glance which fader to lower to overcome the feedback. That simple!
Special Features
The X1222USB comes equipped with channel Inserts for inputs 1 – 4 for use with outboard FX, a stereo 7-band graphic EQ, which can be assigned to the main or monitor buses and our proprietary FBQ Feedback Detection System. Other features include full-sized faders for Monitor and FX Sends, our XPQ 3D stereo surround effect (creates a broader, enhanced stereo image), and a handy Voice Canceller function for removing vocals from pre-recorded media for 'instant-karaoke' applications.

Question: | How do I connect an RCA audio source (CD player) into this while maintaining the audio from my 3 mics? The 2-track mutes the mics |
Answer: | I haven't tried it, but I would think you would need to convert from your RCA to 1/4" banana plug type adapters such as the Hosa Cable GPR101 RCA To 1/4 Inch TS Adaptor - 2 Pack. (Search it on Amazon). You need to connect it as an audio source, the RCA plugs on these don't seem to do much but give you sound through the headphones coming back in so for example if you were using a metronome to keep time while laying down a bass groove, you wouldn't actually be passing that metronome click back through to your recording, just the headphones... |

Question: | Can this Power my Passive Speakers |
Answer: | 8 tracks (6 xlr + 2 1/4) And you can ad a device like iPod or laptop audio with a rca cable. |
Question: | For USB recording, can I have four people (each using their own mic) sent to my computer at the same time? Using it for a podcast |
Answer: | It’s only a stereo output with the USB cable. |
Question: | I am going to purchase three (Audio-Technica AT2020 USB Condenser USB Microphone) mics. Will these plug into this mixer? Sorry I'm brand new at this |
Answer: | As long as the mixer has oitputs - RCA or 1/4inch jacks you can connect to a Desktop or Laptop. You need only find a jumper cable with a stereo RCA plug at one end and a 3.5 mm jack at the other end. You plug the output from the mixer to the MIC and or Aux in on the PC if laptop maybe the same hole/jack as the hradphones. They are often 2 in 1 setups these days. I have my mixer hooked up this way and it allows me to then add whatever I like to the input on the mixer to record on my PC with outstanding results. |
Question: | Im interested in buying this. We have 6 mics, and need to record the audio from all of them to a laptop during meetings. Will this do what I need |
Answer: | I do not have a P16. I do run different brands of in ears off the Aux outputs of the X32 including the brand and version you mentioned. The presonous does not compare to the x32 in my opinion. |

User questions & answers
Question: | want to hook up three microphones (two wired rode procaster black mics) and one rode podcaster usb mic (white mic) would mixer work? what need extra |
Answer: | Physical inputs can be routed to multiple channels. Routing is done after the pre-amp, so if you have it on 3 channel strips they all share the one pre-amp but all other channel settings are separate. I use this for my pastor, one channel for singing and the other speaking, allows me to have different EQ settings and compression. |
Question: | So we are hosting a talk radio show, looking to upgrade board, the usb out will capture all sound from 4 mics to a single recording |
Answer: | I bought a full X32 when it was first released in 2012. I bought an X32 rack in 2013. Other than the learning curve at the beginning when I first used it, its been smooth sailing. Both the desks have held up well in my rental inventory. I own a small sound rental/hire business and I have been using both units quite a lot at concerts, corporate events, weddings and festivals for the past 3 to 4 years. Nothing has broken on either of my units, but I generally work alone or with a well skilled partner so I baby my equipment YMMV. |
Question: | What cord do I need to hook this up to my Mac |
Answer: | X32 Consoles that are over about 12 months old (about July 2013) have an XUF card that has both a USB 2.0 and a Firewire 800 port. My console has that card, but I have since purchased two X32 Racks and their expansion card is the XUSB card and it only has a USB 2.0 port (something about Apple not supporting the Firewire chip set anymore). I have done a lot of recording with both the console and the racks and have not had any problems with either. The XUSB card will connect to your PC or Mac and do a full 32 IN and 32 OUT to your DAW such that the DAW can control the console with remote control. Basically you just need to make sure that the Head Amps for each track are sending a hot signal, but NOT CLIPPING. That will screw up a tracks recording faster than anything. You can use compressors in the DAW to recover from too weak a signal, but you can't do anything about a clipped signal. For DAW's, I have used Presonus Studio One, Tracktion64, Pro Tools, and Apple Logic Pro X. I usually capture the tracks from a live recording using Studio One, but always do my mix down and mastering with Apple Logic Pro X. I have recorded 32 tracks without any problem. |
Question: | does the usb work both ways? meaning can i hook up to my computer to play music through the mixboard from my virtual dj program |
Answer: | I am not familiar with the Xenyx 802 but any 1/4-inch INPUT receiving jack for a single channel on the mixer should allow you to send the signal to the phone to any other recording device connected on the output side of the mixing board. Just remember that the signal being sent to record will be mono, |

Sonically Superior Mic Preamps
The XENYX 1204USB gets its name from our legendary, high headroom XENYX mic preamps, which have been praised by audio engineers all over the world. These state-of-the-art mic pres represent a major step in the evolution of audio technology – and they can easily hold their own, even when compared to the most expensive stand-alone mic preamps. XENYX preamps offer a staggering 130 dB of dynamic range, with a bandwidth that extends from below 10 Hz to well above 200 kHz. Armed with these outstanding mic preamps, the XENYX 1204USB provides such transparent, crystal-clear performance you just might think someone upgraded your mics while you weren’t looking.
One-Knob Compression
Ask professional sound engineers what their favorite piece of external processing gear is and the majority response will be virtually unanimous – dynamic compression. What is compression? We’re glad you asked. Compression essentially limits the dynamic range of a signal, lowering the level of loud sounds and turning up softer sounds, to achieve sonic balance. But applying compression is a delicate art that many novice, and even intermediate, sound techs find challenging. Our “one-knob” compression is available on all mono channels and is easy to operate, even for entry-level users. With this one knob, you can easily dial in the perfect amount of compression for instruments and vocals, creating powerful mixes with punch and clarity. This is indeed a rare feature for products in this class – but standard on the XENYX 1204USB mixer.
Sublimely Musical British EQ
The British consoles of the 1960s and ‘70s changed the sound of rock and roll – without them the British Invasion might not have happened. Those legendary mixing desks soon became the envy of engineers and producers all over the world. The channel EQ on our XENYX mixers is based on that very same circuitry, allowing you to imbue signals with incredible warmth and detailed musical character. Even when applied generously, these equalizers exhibit sweet forgiveness and superb audio quality.
Recording Bliss
There was a time when the recording process called for lots and lots of expensive gear, which meant the average musician had to buy time at a recording studio – and that time was pricey indeed. But modern technology has put personal recording well within the reach of virtually anyone with access to a computer. How do you get all that music flying around your brain into your computer? That’s where the XENYX 1204USB mixer comes in. Thanks to the included bidirectional stereo USB audio interface, you can connect directly to your PC or Mac computer via a single USB cable. Now any signal source you connect to the mixer can be recorded directly to your hard drive. Which brings us to software…
