The VideoMic with Rycote Lyre Suspension System from Rode is a shotgun microphone that can easily be mounted on a DSLR camera. It features a Rycote suspension system that attaches to the camera's shoe. The VideoMic is lightweight, and when mounting on a camera it does not appear in the frame. Easy setup and the mic is very light.The sound quality is slightly better than 'good', I'm used to using XLR input, though, so that might be why I don't think it's very special. Good buy, though. Doesn't come with that exact deadcat, though, you get a cheap-looking black one.It comes with an extension for the audio jack which has saved my life when I have an attached light and need to have the mic far away from me, a good 30ft? Answer:	NO. Everyone online everywhere is lying. The canon t3i has a 2.5 mm jack and this mic comes with a 3.5. Additionally, buying an adapter doesn't just fix the problem.
Question:	Would this be a good microphone for music videos
Answer:	Music videos are 99.9% shot with out sound. The band is just lip syncing/ playing to the prerecorded song. If you are trying to record a live performance of a song they you really should use better mics and record to a dedicated recorder and then sync in post. As a way to get a cleaner sound in the camera for syncing this is a good choice. Aside from the range limits of this mic it's mono. Generally you would want to mic things up and then mix them for your final song, and you generally want to record music in stereo, or multiple mics and mix it to stereo.

Answer:	It absolutely does. This stand screws in perfectly to the Blue Yeti, and it hold the mic up no problem. Just make sure you tighten all the screws.

Answer:	Actually it's too light and tends to fall over. It also would be a terrible way to hold a boom mic. If you need a low budget boom mic holder use a painters extension pole and rig up a shock mount from the mic from rubber bands and PVC pipe cult into rings.

Answer:	Hi Kevin. Sorry for the late response. Yes you can unscrew the boom. The base of the stand is wider than a standard round base so you would have to be careful not to step on or bump the base leg as you would be standing closer to the microphone stand without the boom extension. Answer:	When extended, the cable easily rattles inside the tube (no internal padding whatsoever) the further extended and more tightly the cable is pulled the more it rattles. If your boom op moves at all, when you play back your audio, it sounds like a thunderstorm.

Answer:	Are you using the ZOOM as your microphone or recorder? If so, what model ZOOM has am XLR output? If you are using the ZOOM as a recorder, then plug the XLR-M into the ZOOM and the XLR-F into the BASE of the boom pole. At the head of the boom pole, where your microphone is mounted, plug the built-in XLR-F into the microphone.

Answer:	Not with the small mic clip that the boom stand comes with. You would have to purchase some type of shock mount for the Blue Yeti. Other than that, yes it should support the weight of the Blue Yeti. I use mine with a fairly large condenser mic with no issues.
Question:	Would the screw on the end of this stand fit a cellphone clip mount made for a regular tripod? I want to make videos of myself drawing
Answer:	I'm not sure. If you're talking about a camera tripod, my camera tripod has a different threaded end than this mic stand. The end on the boom of this stand has a standard microphone holder thread on it. I think the standard in the US is ⅝″ 27 threads per inch (tpi) Unified Straight thread (UNS, U.S. and the rest of the world)

Answer:	This microphone stand is amazing and very sturdy. Any microphone can be used that supports the standard mic clip. I believe the yeti has a couple of mounting options.
Question:	Can you use this with an isolation shield and is it strong enough for the shield and a snowball mic
Answer:	This really isn't the type of mic for an isolation shield unless you have extra attachments for the shield. The iso shield I have will only work on a mic that is pointed upward from the floor. This mic is designed to hang the mic above your head so a shield wouldn't work without a lot of extra work.
Question:	Does the arm swing so it can be easily move out of the way (for a drummer
Answer:	Yes. If in a very open room, it would be perfect for that. Small room? Maybe not. The legs of the stand have a wide coverage area to maintain the mic balance.
Question:	Is the boom arm removable
Answer:	No, you wouldn't be able to remove it. Both ends have parts that are permanently attached like a counter weight and a thread-stop. It's a quality boom though.

Question:	how Stretchable is this past the extended range
Answer:	It extends to 8 feet.
Question:	What diameter is the pole? I want to mount this to a C Stand using a swivel but need to know what size swivel to purchase
Answer:	The lower (larger) section of the pole above the padded area is about 1 1/8 in in diameter (3.5" circumference) . A little too large for most C Stand knuckles. Also the walls of the tube are quite thin (to keep the weight down) so clamping it into knuckle may not be a good idea. You're probably better off using a boom arm.
Question:	Can i use any rode mics on this
Answer:	Yes. This boom pole will work with any mic with a standard screw-on mic mount and comes with an adapter for the smaller 1/4” mount as well.
Question:	Will this work with the blue snowball ice
Answer:	Boom poles are usually use to hold a shotgun microphone and are usually handheld. It also might be awkward to mount the blue mic onto a boom pole.

Question:	How do you get it to work with the blue yeti? The adapter that came with mine was too small for my yeti
Answer:	There is an adapter that is in the piece with 2 circles what can be removed that should fit in the mic. That is what I had to do and it works for me. The metal adapter will not be suitable at all though for it. But the plastic screw adapter will screw directly into the actual stand.
Question:	Will a Blue Yeti mic fit in the shock mount
Answer:	The shock mount is *too small* for the Blue Yeti, however, you can still connect that microphone to the stand as-is - you do it without the shock mount. I purchased this item from 'J&JOYCE' on June 6, 2020 (barcode X0023PNL07 on box - no other identifiers available). I can confirm that *the stand works perfectly with both my Blue Yeti and my Blue Snowball*. Both these mics have the same threaded 5/8" female connector underneath. (Normally the trip pod for the Blue Snowball screws into this connector. For the Blue Yeti, the connector is not used when mounted on the heavy stand it comes with). The stand came with a 5/8" male-to 3/8" female adapter, which you screw into your Blue microphone. This then connects to the peg on the stand. You will *not* use the shock mount that comes with the same for these types of Blue mics.
