User questions & answers
Question: | Is this good for piano keyboard |
Answer: | I never tried this but I would imagine you could do all kinds of cool stuff with this amp and a keyboard. As far as the amp goes it is the best one I own and super loud with so many variables. I Love It... Don't know if this will help... Good Luck |
Question: | How do you use it with a microphone |
Answer: | This is not a good amp for a microphone but if needed you could use the acoustic guitar settings for a microphone if the mic has @ 1/4 "jack. if you want an amp that is good for a microphone you are better off going with an amp that has 1/4" jacks as well as xlr input wich is most common with a quality mic. I personally like the acoustic brand amps for my microphones they are designed for an electric acoustic guitar and have xlr inputs and the reverb settings work well with microphones. Peavey also makes awesome products for running microphones check out there website you will find what you need rosemary. Sincerily Rick Barkle |
Question: | what are the demensions |
Answer: | 17"w x 9"d x 15"h |
Question: | can you use an electric acoustic guitar with this and get good sound |
Answer: | Very good, sounds great with an electric or a bass guitar too. This amp is not for a beginner though. |

All VYPYR effects, amp models and parameter controls can be accessed via the amp itself, with no need to hook the amplifier to a computer. Peavey's WYSIWYG control surface quickly allows the user the ability to see and adjust the control position, no guessing
where the control is supposed to be, or having to manually move it to where it should be preset to preset.
VYPYRs new USB bi-directional data and audio port provides and easy way to record, and or connect to our VYPYR software and store presets, get lessons, and practice to backing tracks while connected to your computer.
All of the revolutionary features from the original VYPYR series now even better. More power, more effects, more amp models, Variable Instrument Input, instrument models, and more make this the ultimate amplifier.

User questions & answers
Question: | What kind of warranty is included |
Answer: | This is for features and spec, but warranty is something to ask to the seller... but the amp is indesctructible |
Question: | As per the pics, this unit does not come with the blue marvel speake. does anyone know how this "brandless" speaker compare to the blue marvel |
Answer: | I'am really impressed with this amp and speaker it's got balls |
Question: | Solid states don't do too well with od and distortion pedals. How does the bandit handle them |
Answer: | Just fine, as long as you go directly into the input jack. I don't use the effects loop, so I couldn't tell you about this particular amp. But, I've had problems using the el on other amps, so I just always plug into the front. However....This is not the kind of amp that really needs distortion pedals. In fact, it's distortion channel is where this amp really shines. It has hi-gain, low-gain inputs, gain control, and a boost feature for leads. On the back there is a 3-position damping switch for loose, medium, and tight voicing, and an ohm selector switch. On the front, it has another 3-position switch for classic, modern, and hi-gain voicings. The amp pretty much has it all in terms of distortion, and although you can use it for the bedroom, I've had an amp tech tell me this is the loudest 80-watt, single speaker amp in production. What it doesn't have are built in effects. It has a reverb, and that's all.....Oh, yead---There is a speaker jack in the back, and if you plug an 8 ohm extension cab into it, you get an extra 20 watts, with better fidelity. This is a monster of an amp, and in my opinion distortion pedals aren't necessary. But you might consider buying the matching footswitch for it..... |
Question: | I can't decide between this one and the 6505 combo. What are advantages and disadvantages |
Answer: | Hello. The Bandit 112 and 6505 Combo are both similar amps have many comparable features. Both models are great choices for heavy rock and metal. The Bandit has a great clean sound (for a variety of music styles) but also really kicks butt for metal, and has a lean more towards a classic metal sound. The 6505 Combo (and other amps in the 6505 series) are very high-gain amps and are specifically suited for metal. They have a sound that has often been described as being suited for heavy-metal, grunge-metal, but can also be suited for hard rock and even blues. The 6505 sound is based upon the old amp models Peavey had developed for Van Halen. The sound aspect is really a personal preference dependent upon what you play. Aside from that, keep the following points in mind: the Bandit 112 is more than 20lbs lighter than the 6505+ Combo; the Bandit 112 is purely emulated sound (no tubes) while the 6505+ Combo is a tru tube amp (while the Bandit sounds great, many players will argue that it is impossible to fully replicate the tube sound with digital circuitry); The Bandit 112 has more power and tends to be slightly louder than the 6505+ Combo, although it is a minimal difference and shouldn't be considered a big selling factor for one or the other. Both amps can have some functions controlled by a footswitch (sold separately for both models). Both have the same great Peavey reliability and warranty you have come to expect from all of their amps and pro audio gear! If you have further specific questions, we would be glad to help. Bandit 112
At the 1995 NAMM show thousands of players, media and dealers crammed into a small demo room inside the Peavey exhibit, one after another, where our engineers set up a blind A/B comparison between their new invention and a real tube amp. No one could tell the difference between the two. Some 'golden ears' even thought the TransTube Bandit was the real tube amp. But How?
In devising the TransTube Circuitry, our engineers studied every aspect of how a tube amp works. We learned that recreating tube tone isn't merely a question of gain structure. It's about the entire component chain and how each one interacts with the others. It's about damping factor and the corresponding speaker response. It's about power amp compression. How the amp breaks up when driven hard, harmonic structure and non-linear gain stages. It's about cabinet size, bracing, wood and thickness. But most importantly, it's about what it's not.
Those other manufacturers' half-hearted attempt at tube emulation failed because they focused on the wrong elements. So we concentrated on emulating the tone characteristics we all recognize and love about tubes and 86'd the rest. It's a deceptively simple concept, but it took three U.S. Patents to map the entire process for the history books.
Set up a comparison at your Peavey dealer and discover the TransTube difference for yourself. No marketing hype needed. You won't believe your ears!
TransTube Series
The Sound of Tube Amps with the Convenience and Reliability of Solid-State.
Peavey TransTube Series guitar amps feature our exlcusive TransTube technology, which emulates the sound of tupe amplifiers with the convenience and reliability of solid-state design. The TransTube preamp tailors the gain level for the desired amount of drive, and the power amp responds to the preamp with the natural compression that increases with the amp's volume. The result is a line of amplifiers with widely ranging dynamics and natural 'grit,' just like a real tube amp.

User questions & answers
Question: | what are its dimensions and does it come with a power supply |
Answer: | The combo is 18" high, 15.7" wide, and 13.2" deep. It comes with a standard 120VAC power cable. |
Question: | What is the speaker wattage of the max 100? Is it a100 watt |
Answer: | No, it’s a 50 watt. |
Question: | What is the weight of this amp? Specs say 1 lb, but that's highly unlikely |
Answer: | Very unlikely. ;) Even so, I double-checked the weight on my bathroom scale. It's a VERY manageable 25 pounds (or 11.3 kilograms). |
Question: | Can a microphone also be hook up for playing the guitar and sing at the same time? Thanks |
Answer: | Short answer: Maybe. Longer answer: There's an Auxiliary Input (3.5mm) that's normally for audio input from an iPod/phone/external music source. You might be able to plug in a microphone with a 3.5mm plug, but I don't know if the signal would be strong enough to complete with the bass. You might be better off dropping Peavey a note and getting your answer direct from them. |

Question: | Why is this product marketed as made in usa when the picture of the rear panel clearly shows it is made in china |
Answer: | Hello, The Peavey Classic 30 was originally made in the USA. There are some vendors, like us that still have old stock of the USA made ones. They are currently being made in China. Some vendors may have made in China ones in their stock. As for why Amazon is showing the pictures, that's a more complex question. Amazon pulls information for their listings from many sources, including vendor feeds and seller feeds. Their listings are often an mismatch of various details from various sources. Amazon is in complete control of what is shown and seller's can only make suggestions. Classic Series
Timeless Classics From An American Original.
Anyone who has managed to turn a passion into a career, can surely pinpoint the exact moment in time that they realized their life's calling. For Hartley Peavey, that moment occurred in 1957 at a Bo Diddley concert deep in Mississippi. The energy he felt and the tones he heard that night would ultimately take form in the first Peavey amplifier. The rest, as we say, is rock & roll history. Today, that original burst of inspiration lives on in one of Hartley's most enduring creations, the Peavey Classic Series.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the peavey vypyr vip 2 - 40 watt take pedals well |
Answer: | You should be able to tell by how much power it puts out when you play. There is a huge difference between 75 and 300 Watts |
Question: | Is this portable enough to move between rooms maybe once or twice a week, including sometimes up stairs? Thank you |
Answer: | It's only good for a practice amp ... Doesn't provide a deep sound ... My personal opinion is it would work better for a guitar |
Question: | What is the weight and the size of the product in the package |
Answer: | I bought the fender rumple for my son to take that band practice. I sent it back and got a Peavey as it was smaller. the fender has a bigger, deeper can and I thought sounded better, but nothing wrong with the peavey. The external cab is more durable on the PV |
Question: | Would I be able to sound like the thrash metal band exodus especially with the sound there using now with this amp |
Answer: | probably you have to much bass , that is why you hear the pop . |
