Question:	Can this thermometer get the temperature in a dryer
Answer:	I doubt it. The wavelength of the sensor is 8-14 microns and plexiglass has very low transmittance beyond about 3 microns (according to this spec sheet http://www.plexiglas.com/export/sites/plexiglas/.content/medias/downloads/sheet-docs/plexiglas-general-information-and-physical-properties.pdf). Whether or not the material your dryer door is made of is the same is another matter. If the transmittance is close to zero then you will essentially be measuring the temperature of the outside of the door.
Question:	Does this work on internal meat temperatures
Answer:	If you cut the meat in half you might be able to take the surface temperature of the meat, but then your meat is going to be cut in half and that's not real appetizing. Blue cheese is very appealing, maybe some bacon.

Answer:	If your child can open their mouth and hold it open for a few seconds, then YES! It is an extremely accurate way to measure temperature! Just point the dot at the back of the throat, and it gives you an immediate and accurate reading. I'm at a loss why people only considered pointing it at their foreheads or other external body parts.
Question:	What is the range (distance from gun to target) or recommended for this gun? How accurate is it at 6-8 feet range
Answer:	The 12:1 ratio means at 12" the gun is accurate for a one inch spot. So at 6'-8' it will be accurate for a 6"-8" inch spot. So the farther you get away from the spot being measured, the less accurate it will be. Like Cheryl said, think of it like a cone.

Answer:	The Pal-1 will only measure up to 53% on the brix scale. The sugar content may be too high for the machine. For measuring honey, I would recommend the PAL-22S or the PAL-2 instead.

Answer:	This thermometer to measure the temperature of the skin surface can only be used for reference, its accuracy of +/- 2%, I don't recommend you use it to detect whether the fever. The laser must avoid the eyes when check the temperature.

Answer:	I use this device for my wood burning stove that's in my outdoor sauna. I aim it at the side of the burning chamber and it works great. I know when it's 600F or higher, that there is a good burn inside. When the temp drops to 500F or lower, I know it's time to add wood!

Question:	What is the distance that it can detect with accuracy
Answer:	I calibrated mine by pointing it at a cup of boiling water and it was within a couple of degrees. I usually use it at fairly close range (wheel bearings, tires, heating pads, etc) so haven't done any tests to determine long range accuracy but because of the physics of infrared I have no reason to believe it would be any less accurate at longer range. However it is rated at 12:1 spot ratio which means at twelve feet it would nominally be measuring the temperature of a one-foot circle and the farther removed you are the large the circle you would be averaging. One reason I chose this model was because its 12:1 rating was tighter than many other brands which were rated at 10:1 and 8:1. I have also used it to detect cold spots in my walls while standing back 8-12 feet and it has done this reliably.

Answer:	Two possibilities: 1. Low battery. circuit boards are very sensitive to a slight voltage drop, so fresh batteries will take that possibility out. Also, taking the batteries out and putting them back in would reset a board that just lost it's mind, like turning a (Windows) computer off and on again. 2. Bad temperature prob cord. a damaged cord almost always shows as an irrational readout. Note: cords break frequently, but they are largely interchangeable with the general replacement probes sold at the Walmart all the grilling season long for about $5.

Answer:	You can take measurements at 50 feet, but at that distance your measurement area (circle) needs to be 5 feet in diameter. At 10 feet it should be a circle of 1 foot in diameter, and at 8 inches it should be at least 0.8 inches in diameter. This relationship is determined by the "distance to spot ratio" of the device, and for the ennoLogic eT650D it is 10:1. So divide your distance by 10 and that gives you the diameter of the measurement area that the IR thermometer "sees". 50 feet is not the limit, you can measure at even larger distances. You just have to keep in mind that the measurement area gets progressively larger as well. If your target is smaller than that area, you're measurement result will be off. The dual lasers come in very handy here. Most people think a dual laser device limits you to the distance where the two laser dots merge (for this device that's 8 inches.) But that's not true. When you measure areas from larger distances, the two laser dots tell you where your measurement area is located, which is a circle inside the two laser dots. So imagine a circle where both laser dots lie on the circumference of that circle. That's your measurement spot. A single laser device only gives you one laser dot, and you assume that dot is right in the center of your measurement spot. But that's often not true (it may be slightly off center), and you won't know how large your measurement spot is. The two lasers of the eT650D indicate the size of the measurement spot - the width of that spot (or circle) is defined by the two laser dots. And you can also use this dual laser infrared thermometer to measure objects that are closer than the 8-inch optimum distance at which the dots merge into one. In that case, your measurement spot becomes smaller. At 5 inches it would be a circle of 0.5 inches in diameter. (Due to limitations of the IR sensor and its geometry though you can't get a spot much smaller than 0.5 inches, so you can't go to a 1 inch distance and expect to get a 0.1 inch measurement spot.)

Answer:	I guess, but it’s not really designed for that. The forehead temp shows 92/93 degrees for me. Under the tongue with the probe shows 95/96.

If you don't have a thermometer with a contact probe to make a direct comparison to determinte the correct setting for a given material, you'd need to some research ("Google is your friend") to determine a "reasonable estimate" for the material you want to test.
