| Answer: | No, its suppose to read 0 psig! Some pressure gauges are adjustable and you're able to zero them out. I can't remember if this pressure gauge is adjustable or not but if not then I suggest replacing it with a Winters pressure gauge which are of much better quality. Will it make a difference, no! For testing gas pressures with a 15 psig gauge you need to pressurize the gas line(s) up to 1/5 the max gauge pressure rating (aka 3 psig) and it needs to hold pressure for at least an hour or much when leak testing. In your case, you'll need to be at 5.5 psig since the gauge is reading 2.5 psig at standard atmospheric pressure. Hope that answers you're question. I might add that this test gauge works quite well once you disassemble it and seal the threads with Leak Lock thread sealant. |
