A new screen will appear (Regional Management Test Code) which will allow you to change the region code using the up and down arrow keys on the remote control. 6. Change the code to '0' and press the PAUSE key to exit

Answer:	Of course it works in the us. First most of these players come via Canada because originally the dvd makers and sellers only allowed Region 1 players in the US. I found out about this stuff back when all we had were VHS tapes. I found a nice place in NYC that sold me a wonderful and expensive tape player for my European vcr tapes. Then DVDs came along and I had to switch to Canada for my multi-region players. By now about 1/4 of my dvds are European and all play on these multi or all region DVD players. Nicest thing is that they are petite and weigh very little compared to those ten plus years ago.

Offline Clone Function

1. Ensure the Power Switch on the rear is in the OFF Position and plugged in properly.
2. Insert Both hard drives and identify Source Disk and Target Disk (HDD1 is Source Disk, HDD2 is Target Disk).Note: The target disk must be larger/equal than the source disk.
3. Make sure that the USB cable is disconnected from computer during the cloning.
4. Connect power supply and switch on power.
5. Press the "Clone" button for 3 seconds, the LED indicator will light up. Then quickly press the offline clone button then offline clone operation will start. Each LED represents 25% completion. When offline clone operation is fully completed, all LEDs will constant on.
6. At last, power off the device.

1. Please backup files in the target hard drive before cloning. Any files in target hard drive will be overwritten when offline cloning occurs.

Answer:	I have been successful in doing a clone of windows 8-8.1. I first downloaded the apk from M.S. on the source drive. There's complete instructions on how to do this on their website (as of a yr ago*). MS has a clone type install for 7(All) and 8-8.1 All versions. I don't know about Win10... As long as you have a M.B with the built-in key, I have been able to get a "free OS" on a new hard drive. I hope this helps someone else out there- Questions? Ask pls...

Answer:	Yes it is BUT remember that usb 2.0 only transfers at at top speed of 480 Mbps. So even tho this unit has a USB 3.0 connector capable of tranfering data at a max of 5 Gbps, if it then gets connected to a USB 2.0 connector then it will only transfer data at the USB 2.0 connector speed of 480 Mbps speed. Yes, It IS backward compatable but at the much lower & much slower 480 Mbps speed !

Answer:	The StarTech USB 3 based hard drive duplicator has a rocker type power button on the back of the case, like the power button on the power supply of a desktop PC. Flip one way, its off, flip the other way, it's on. The lights on the front come on, when power is turned on. On the front of the case, at the lower right is a Clone button. It is small, so that users won't accidentally press it. To start cloning of hard drives, two drives must be inserted in the unit, and the user must press and hold down the Clone button for about 3-4 seconds for cloning to start. There is a similar sized (but recessed) Erase button on the back of the case. When it is pressed and held for 3-4 second, erasing will begin on any hard drive that is inserted in the duplicator. Erasing will occur for either slot. The button is recessed, so that accidental erasing will not occur. Hard drive access for file reading or writing can be done by plugging a USB 3 cable (provided) into the back of the case in the USB 3 port, and also to a desktop or notebook PC. The front lights will become activity lights for the individual hard drives inserted into the duplicator unit. Access to the hard drives is by the normal Windows Explorer, or other software on a PC that the duplicator is connected to. This way, after cloning, a hard drive may be updated by manual or automatic means from the hard drive in a PC, without installing it physically into the PC. I only use my cloned drives as emergency backup hard drives, in case of hard drive failures or in the event of file corruption, and keep all of my data backed up, manually and automatically on portable drives, connected to the same PC, and stored both on site, and off site.

Answer:	Are you asking about cloning one drive to another in the unit? If so, that depends on the drives, themselves. For example, for SATA III (6 Gbps), duplication speeds up to 22 GB per minute are possible. Of course, a lower SATA rating will result in lower duplication speeds.

Answer:	Depending upon the mode. If the device is used as a USB drive through the cable, both bays are writable. If in "Clone Mode, only the "Target" bay is writable.
Question:	I have a laptop from which i will project onto two screens using projectors. Will this work for my issue
Answer:	When you have a drive on the edge, don't try to fix it. Use Macrium Reflect to make a backup image of the drive to another and tell it to ignore the bad sectors. Then we replace the old drive with the new one and restore with Macrium. Next, boot it up as-is. This gets any plug-and-play things to hook up and configure. Then do a chkdsk /r/f c:. It will tell you it can't, and ask if you want to on the next boot. Answer yes and reboot. Notice you haven't taken a chance with your old partially-working drive using this method. With Macrium the drive you restore to can be bigger or smaller than the original. The cloning feature is probably something you won't use very often unless you are selling systems. It expects two drives of the same capacity.

I'm not sure about its max memory; the highest offered from HP with this rig is 16GB. If you really need to go above that, two factors affect this: processor type and OS level. Since this is an x64 machine, the max memory under Win7 Pro should be 192GB. x86 machines have a max of 4GB no matter the OS; Home versions of Win7 have varying limits from 8 to 16. Careful if you're upgrading to 10 that the machine will still handle the max 192GB; I haven't tried that.
