| Answer: | I installed several of these during a complete rebuild of a mower deck. I tried numerous methods to get them installed and the one that finally worked is as follows: 1. Assuming the bushing and retainer are already installed slot the bent end of the spring into the mower deck. 2. Work the spring around the retainer flange one loop of the spring at a time until the spring is fully contained under the retainer. 3. Using pliers tighten the other end of the spring and attach it to the arm. Note: You may need to do this step with one of the spring loops above the retainer. After attaching the spring end to the arm you should be able to move the last loop under the retainer. This method worked well for me. |
