The circular pad is very course and abrasive to the point it will remove wood if a lot of pressure is used so you would need only the lightest pressure. They caution against using other sanding pads that may fit on the sander, so it is possible to use lighter grade pads. It is not designed to do corners or curved surfaces. I have stripped paint/varnish from more than 1,000 sq. ft. of deck and I am totally satisfied with the Paint Stripper. |

Are you using the edge of the disk for something? If so, then I can see how pressure could break it. |
