Tumbleweed Connection

Product description

Elton's soulful mix of country, blues and rock and killer tunes like Country Comfort; Son of Your Father , and Ballad of a Well-Known Gun made this concept LP a #5 hit in '71 (bonuses: Into the Old Man's Shoes and the original version of Madman Across the Water )!

Tumbleweed Connection is part of the early catalog of Elton John's work that Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose reportedly once said he would love to own the publishing rights to as a work of art. Indeed, it does contain some of John's most expressive work as an artist, but with the showy stage presence and pop melodicism still under construction. Tumbleweed is characterized by John's balladeer approach, with John at his storyteller best on songs like "Burn Down the Mission." Even if the lyrics were generally written by Bernie Taupin, John's voice and inflection made every song seem deeply personal. The beautiful "Come Down in Time" displays the subtleties and sophistication of his talent, with the piano not yet serving as the instrumental focal point it would later become. The album also features the favorite "Ballad of a Well-Known Gun" and "Where to Now St. Peter?" --Steve Gdula

EARLY LIVE SHOW FROM ALICE COOPER S THIRD PHASE With his eccentric stage antics, extensive use of props and trademark theatrical approach to the hard rock genre, it is in no doubt that Alice Cooper s title as The Godfather of Shock Rock is justly deserved. Since his initial breakthrough as a solo artist in 1975 which of course had followed the Alice Cooper glory years when AC was an entire band, not just the singer - with Welcome To My Nightmare, Alice Cooper has continued to both thrill and horrify audiences the world over, and has often been credited as being the first performer to combine horror imagery with rock music, a feat that has been replicated by countless others, but never bettered. Perhaps fittingly, Alice Cooper s activities during the late 1970s and early 1980s were as dramatic and shocking as any which had come before, whether on or off the stage. In 1978 Cooper had been famously institutionalised in an attempt to conquer his alcoholism, which at its height was rumoured to exceed two cases of Budweiser and a bottle of whiskey a day. Although relatively sober upon his release, he soon developed a cocaine addiction, leading to a series of blackout albums - a collection of LPs which he had little to no recollection of recording. The first and most celebrated of these was 1980 s Flush The Fashion. Produced by Roy Thomas Baker, who had worked on Queen s Sheer Heart Attack and A Night At The Opera, the album signalled a major stylistic shift for Alice Cooper; from the trashy hard rock of his earlier years to an edgier, new wave sound. Although this alienated many fans at first, it soon came to be considered one of Cooper s most overlooked gems, and became his best performing album in three years. The lead single Clones (We re All) peaked on the Billboard chart at No. 40, and has remained a part of Cooper s live shows ever since. The recording featured here was taken from the first date of the Flush The Fashion tour on 4th June 1980 at El Paso s County Coliseum. Broadcast live over FM radio, many songs including Clones , Guilty , Pain and Dance Yourself To Death were performed here for the first time in front of a live audience. Despite his troubles during this period, Alice Cooper is in as good a shape as ever he was, and when breaking out such classics as I m Eighteen , Billion Dollar Babies , Elected and School s Out , it s not difficult to see why this dynamic performer has forged such a celebrated and enduring legacy.

Babette's Feast

AVEL,GABRIEL

Product description

Artistic, sensual and sacred passions unite in Babette's Feast. Written and directed by Gabriel Axel, from a short story by Out of Africa's Isak Dinesen, this Oscar(r)-winning*film offers "an irresistible mixture of dry wit and robust humanity" (Newsweek). Onthe desolate coast of Denmark live Martina and Philippa, the beautiful daughters of a devout clergyman who preaches salvation through self-denial. Both girls sacrifice youthful passion to faith and duty, and even many years after their father's death, they keep his austere teachings alive among thetownspeople. But with the arrival of Babette, a mysterious refugee from France's civil war, life for the sisters and their tiny hamlet begins to change. Soon, Babette has convinced them to try something truly outrageousa gourmet French meal! Her feast, of course, scandalizes the local elders. Just who is this strangely talented Babette, who has terrified this pious town with the prospect of losing their souls for enjoying too much earthly pleasure? *1987: Foreign Language Film

Some movies can only be described as delicious. In Babette's Feast, a woman flees the French civil war and lands in a small seacoast village in Denmark, where she comes to work for two spinsters, devout daughters of a puritan minister. After many years, Babette unexpectedly wins a lottery, and decides to create a real French dinner--which leads the sisters to fear for their souls. Joining them for the meal will be a Danish general who, as a young soldier, courted one of the sisters, but she turned him away because of her religion. The village elders all resolve not to enjoy the meal, but can their moral fiber resist the sensual pleasure of Babette's cooking? Babette's Feast deservedly won the 1987 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. This lovely movie is impeccably simple, yet its slender narrative contains a wealth of humor, melancholy, and hope. --Bret Fetzer

Product description

Taurine is a conditionally essential amino acid that is not utilized for protein synthesis but is mainly found free in most tissues, especially throughout the nervous system.* It functions in tissues by stabilizing cell membranes and aiding the transport of potassium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium in and out of cells.* Taurine helps to generate and regulate nerve impulses and supports the maintenance of normal fluid balance; it is also used by the body in visual pathways, as well as in the brain and nervous system, where it works together with glycine and GABA as a neurotransmitter.*

  • Helps the body absorb other nutrients with greater ease while moderating healthy cellular activity
  • It has also been known to exhibit antioxidant properties that may help protect macular regions of the eye
  • It is an outstanding all-around supplement
  • During the summer months products may arrive warm but Amazon stores and ships products in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations, when provided.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this calming
Answer: It wasn't calming for my pups but it's a necessary Amino Acid they need.
Question: Is this taurine from a vegetarian source? If not, what is the source
Answer: "it says vegetarian/vegan on the label." I believe what this means is it is "safe" for vegetarians and vegans in that it doesn't come from an animal source. Taurine supplements are manufactured. Our bodies produce some, but we generally get more from animal based products, mainly meat. It is essential to add to cat food, if you make your own.
Question: what is expiration dates? if I were to order 4 to 6 bottles how far out are expiration dates
Answer: I have had my 8 oz. Now Taurine powder for several months now (I use it with my son and dog who have seizures. I'm not 100% certain if it helps but my son's Mayo Clinic neurologist expressed interest in our use of it with our son. It's something that is being looked at to help with seizures.). I looked at the bottom and it expires 05/16. It will be long gone before that date.
Question: Is there a better brand of Taurine, not made in China
Answer: I did/do not have an answer for your question. The containers I have (for making cat food) only list the IL address. I contacted NOW after searching NOW's website and could not find anything that would answer your question. This was their response:"Thank you for your inquiry. As with most USP amino acids, Taurine is sourced from China. We quality test the material in our US lab and use it in our formulations. We obtain 4,000+ raw materials. Because of the realities of the supply chain, these can come not only from the U.S. but from all over the world. Some materials are from China; sometimes by necessity. One reason is that compared to here in the U.S., China has far more non-GMO corn and soy from which some ingredients are made. Some of the raw materials that we do source from China are pharmaceutical grade; by definition of known - and in fact the highest - quality.Of course, we audit our suppliers and test all of our raw materials for identity, strength, physical properties, environmental contaminants (including microbes, heavy metals, and pesticides), and adulterants (such as pharmaceuticals) as specified. Some raw materials are traditional Chinese botanicals sourced from their native region, which is appropriate and expected. So country of origin is less important to us than the integrity of the raw materials, as tested to our stringent specifications and proven to be pure and potent. Our labs’ capabilities are more advanced and our specifications therefore can be stricter than most companies'.https://www.nowfoods.com/supplements/quality-safety"I looked up USP referenced in their reply and this one explains it fairly well:http://qualitymatters.usp.org/what-letters-usp-mean-label-your-medicineAlso, from Wikipedia:"In 1993, about 5,000â€"6,000 tons of taurine were produced for commercial purposes: 50% for pet food and 50% in pharmaceutical applications.5 As of 2010, China alone has more than 40 manufacturers of taurine. Most of these enterprises employ the ethanolamine method to produce a total annual production of about 3,000 tons.6"Although NOW references USP in their reply to my inquiry, it is NOT on the label. If you read the web page listed above, this indicates they do not have the USP oversight. That said, so much is now sourced elsewhere that you can never be sure where anything comes from. At some point you either pull into your shell and do not buy anything, or take the Indiana Jones' "leap of faith" and put some trust into the companies providing products (not just taurine).BTW, if the taurine is for yourself, there are "natural" sources that provide high amounts of this amino acid - also from Wikipedia - it occurs naturally in meat and fish. If you are vegetarian, then you may have no choice but to trust these products, as Wikipedia also indicates vegans have reduced taurine levels in their system. If it is for making cat food, you really have to trust someone as this is a critical ingredient. Also, from what I gather on reading all this information, this is a non-natural source, i.e. it would not be extracted from meat or fish, but rather 'produced', which would be the same for all companies that sell taurine. In summary, although there may be a/some taurine product(s) available out there that are not made in or sourced from China, it may be very difficult to find. If you find one that says mfg in USA, you STILL do not know where it was sourced. Whether China or some other non-US source, you either have to trust the 'parent' company, or do without.P.S. posted comment to other reply suggesting bulksupplements - their response was it is also sourced in China

User questions & answers

Question: Whats the expiry date
Answer: It's marked on the bottom of the bottle - the one I'm using now shows "Best By 11/2017"
Question: Is this type (uncria), better for inflamaton than the (una) type
Answer: Unfortunately, I do not know. You can call the company who manufactures it
Question: Is this capsule very large
Answer: There is a free catalog that you can order, from a company that goes by the name: Puritan's Pride puritan.com. Checkout the near to last page of their catalog; there you will find an Approximate soft gel size chart; the Cats Claw soft gel size pill that you will be taking according to their measuring scale is measured at 'S21' a measurement size indicator that Puritan's Pride company uses to specify a gel size. Now, to me the gel size 'S21' is not what I would consider to large to take to swallow; however, you may think, or see it differently. The gel capsule measures approximately 7/8" long x 5/32"dia., I've seen vitamin pills, and or capsules that are much larger. I hope this has been helpful for you; this stuff is excellent, it works for me--good luck.
Question: What are the ingredients of the capsules only? Thank you in advance

User questions & answers

Question: does this Increasing the cat appetite
Answer: This isn't the intent of the product, though if your cat is experiencing an upper respiratory issue and/or kitty herpes outbreak, then yes this product may help by way of boosting their immune system so they can fend off the illness and, thus, increase their appetite again. So, does it directly increase their appetite? No. But indirectly, it may. Hope this was helpful. :)
Question: Why does this product have a california proposition 65 warning
Answer: California does not include pet products in Prop 65. NOW does not add this warning, but some resellers add a warning for all products sold to California businesses or residents to assure compliance with that unique law in case manufacturers aren’t testing heavy metals; NOW does this testing.
Question: How to the feed ration
Answer: I just mix it in with the cat's food. These are the manufacturer directions:* For cats 6 months or older 1/8 teaspoon twice daily* For kittens under 6 months 1/16 teaspoon twice daily
Question: Amazon needs to show the label's ingredients so is it pure L-Lysine no fillers or additives? Thank you
Answer: No fillers or additives, so it is pure L-Lysine. And to be honest when I bought the flavored powder L-Lysine made specifically for cats (different brand)- I was able to see a white powder in jar and a few streaks of tan powder- it didn't stay mixed well and the tan powder was the added flavoring. This product is white granules. I mix it in with canned food- the added flavorings I was paying A LOT extra for was never needed and I was so glad when I switched to buying from Now brands, definitely a money saver.
