Answer:	Well, what I did was fill the tank up with cold water and ice cubes, put the ice box in the cold ice water. Then make sure the speed is up to 3, make sure to click the cold air button. And also make sure that all your windows and doors are shut so the cool air doesn't escape or mix with warm air. And within 2 to 3 hours of using the cooler, the room pretty much cools down.

Answer:	The back doesn't need access to air. But this almost certainly won't work for your use case. Because air in a vent is constantly moving, the "effective volume" of air you're trying to pull humidity out of is massive. This is for confined spaces where air isn't flowing. In your use case you won't notice any difference at all. There are products made specifically for what you're describing...unfortunately they are orders of magnitude more expensive than this item.

Answer:	I agree with Gina. In my case, I had a lot of moisture with my old, single-pane windows and, come to find out, my furnace had an automatic humidifier on it so I shut that off and now use other, less "wet" methods for humidifying only the areas in use, in the winter. So, moisture around the windows lets me know that I'm humidifying too much.

Answer:	Just plug it into any wall outlet. It generates a small but harmless amount of heat. "Recharging" is an imprecise term. What you are doing is actually heating up the device with a small internal heating element, which dries out the silica dessicant inside the frame, which, when "charged" or more correctly redried, allows the silica dessicant to again absorb moisture at a higher rate. When the Dessicant has lost its blue color, it absorbes moisture at a less efficient rate. The blue is restored by flipping up the outlet tabs on the back of the unit, and plugging it into the wall to engage the heating element. This product is made for small spaces, not to dehumidify your house. Main use is for gun safes, tool boxes etc.

A week after being in place, I'm seeing the humidity steadily creep up, it is 62% now and rising, using a remote hygrometer that is calibrated. Not good. Answer:	500 cubic feet - not square feet - you have to count the space from ceiling to floor distance as well as the distances from all sides. Image your room as a big box, or cube - how many 1 ft squares would it take to fill it up? One example is if you have a 10' x 10' room it is both 100 cubic feet and 100 square feet ONLY if the room is one foot high. To that 10' x 10' foot room start adding in the height, once you get over 5' high, you have hit the 500 cubic feet limitation. Sorry if I made it more complicated of an answer than it should be.

Answer:	We haven't had power outages, but I've unplugged the device on several occasions. It turns on right back to my previous settings.

Answer:	The reservoir does have a lid, but we have never needed to remove it in all the time we’ve had it. Honestly, I don’t even know if it can be removed! There is a hole at one end to empty the water and the reservoir itself has always remained clean.

Answer:	35% is the lowest setting for automatic control. On continuous operation you could reduce humidity below 35%, at least in theory. Note the internal humidity sensor reading may differ from an external sensor. In my case, as much as 10% difference. I have to put the automatic setpoint at 55 or 60 to maintain a level of 45-50% as measured by two external sensors.

Personally, we found the damprid cups were the only thing that worked for our situation. Hope it works for you!

Answer:	Each of the canisters is for a relatively small space such as 30 cubic feet. That would be a space with measurements of 3 ft x 3 ft x 3 ft. No, they would not be sufficient for large living space.

Answer:	I weigh my canisters when I buy them for a base line. Most of these canisters weigh around 860 grams. I recharge them on the first of the month. They usually gain around 100 grams of weight. In order to get them back to the original weight I remove the caps and cook them in the oven at 275 degrees for 8 hours. I have arrived at this process after much trial and error. I have found that if I recharge them every two months the efficiency is greatly reduced. The second month weight gain is only about one third the value of the first month. I have been doing this for over five years and during that time I have removed over four gallons of moisture from three canisters.

Answer:	The 35 pint measurement is not the capacity of the reservoir, it's a measurement of the power of the unit. Dehumidifiers are rated on how much water they can remove from the air in 24 hours at testing conditions. In 2012, the testing conditions for this measurement was set at 80F at 60% humidity. In 2020, that changed to 65F and 60% humidity. Since there's less moisture in the air at 65F 60% then there is at 80F 60% (that's why it's called relative humidity), and compressor-style dehumidifiers work more efficiently the warmer it gets, the ratings of all the humidifiers went down, even though it's the same unit. One that can pull 90 pints out of 80F air can only pull out 60 pints from 65F air, but it's the same unit. This 35 pint unit (if it's could actually pull maybe 60 pints out per day in a warm place (if it's using the new rating... but who knows that)

Answer:	That means the room its in is at 30% humidity which is pretty low.I dont think the dehumidifier can make it lower than that.If you want to manually set the level turn auto off...auto is the button with the A on it push it to turn it off.Then use the left arrow key to lower the number and right key to raise it.If your at 30 i dont think you even need a dehumidifier.
