The Cooks Standard Classic has bonded steel which "sandwiches" the aluminum between layers of stainless. The aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat and the stainless is a perfect surface on which the food comes in contact with and cooks, depending on the skill of the cook, to perfection. It's the best of both worlds. I've used this pot to make delicious soups, to cook pasta, and although I've only had it a short time, I anticipate making many other delicious meals with it. I don't think you can go wrong here, and if I were you, I'd get some "Bar Keepers Friend" which you can find in the grocery store or hardware store, to keep it shiny and sparkling and looking like new. (At the base is one spot and the 2nd pivot is where there is a bend on the metal arm). Having them both points extended fully makes the faucet head close to the sink. If they do not receive a sharp impact or drop they seem to work fine. People have a tendency to hit the serving spoon on the edge and that my crack them. Other than that, that is all I know.
