Answer:	I believe the .045 or .05 is in reference to the "Z" axis resolution. I forget how the "X" &"Y" resolution is calculated, but I believe its a calculation based on the masking LCD resolution.

Answer:	no you will have to completely start the print over with a complete loss of power. there are no snippers with the printer.

Answer:	You're getting UV bleed through, since the first layers anchor everything to the plate your BOTTOM LAYERS will have an extended cure time that extra time allows UV to bleed through and cure resin around the open screen. It's not actually "squished" but more or less "Chonky" there is no way of fixing that if you are printing directly onto the plate except sanding it back down

Answer:	If you don't but it from Creality directly, they won't honor a warranty. I've had this model before and the screen cracks very easily. Went through multiple before I said enough and got a different resin printer.

Question:	Can this be used in an oyumaru mold and cured with a UV lamp
Answer:	IF the UV light can reach all of he resin then you might be able to. The biggest issue with this is it adheres to surfaces it cures on very well. I have to use risers on anything that has much surface contact to avoid sticking to the build plate.
Question:	is there a recommended adhesive to use on this resin when assembling multiple part prints
Answer:	I use a hand held UV light and out a bit of the resin as the glue then hit it with the UV light and it sets right up. binding the pieces to each other. sometimes you might need to add a couple more layers curing each one but it works well for me.
Question:	New to this, can unused resin be poured back in the bottle, or is it trash
Answer:	Yeah it can, just make sure to pour through the fine paint filters they come with incase there's semi cured resin in the vat. Also maybe print a resin level indicator so your not putting too much resin in the vat and then resin gets cycled frequently. when photopolymers get older they start to not work as well.

Answer:	No. I recommend the water washable resin. It costs a bit more but you get the same results without the hassle and expense of buying 90%+ alcohol to rinse your completed pieces and wash the tank.
Question:	I saw a new review on this machine saying that now it comes with some sort of protection for the screen and was wondering if this true
Answer:	I can confirm there is no actual screen protector on the bare lcd. There is a shipping protector, but because of its application at the factory it's unusable as a screen protector. I asked elegoo directly about it or a suggestion for one and was told there isn't and won't be, because they offer a "limited" warranty on the screen itself. That limited warranty and the down time wasn't acceptable to me. I wound up snagging a tablet screen protector(not a matte finish) from walmart and overlaying it before I did anything, and it's worked fine since. Tldr, it's still a bare screen. There is a thin one on it for shipping purposes, but it's inadequate for protection uses.

Answer:	The carbon filters are absolutely replaceable. They just dont sell any specially made replacement cartidges. And you will have to open the printer to change the carbon filter. However the factory installed carbon filter will work for hundreds of printing hours if not more. Ive had my printer for about 2 months nonstop printing and have never noticed an odor

Question:	Has anyone experience horizontal cracks on the side of the UV cover after starting to use the machine? I start to see some but not sure why
Answer:	This can also be caused (assuming the covers are acrylic) by exposure to alcohol or even window cleaners with alcohol. This is a typical issue in acrylic fabrication shops. Points of stress (i.e. glued seams, heat polished edges, or bending) are the most sensitive.
Question:	Can this printer be used with Simplify 3D software for slicing or does it have to be the Chitu box slicer
Answer:	no it can't this is not about proprietary lock in. LCD Masking printers do not have "tool paths" (which is what slicers generate) they display a Masking Image on an LCD screen and permit UV light to "pass" where you want resin to cure. so the "file" is quite literally a GIF of sorts a set of "pictures" one image per layer. you can't use S3D or Cura or Slic3r because they literally "can't make" this kind of a file. there is no X or Y there is only "z" and "burn time" and "what image to display" the Chitu software is very good and this machine has an AMAZING feature wherein you can define bottom layers their burn time and normal burn time "ON THE MACHINE" dynamically. burn time too long or short? you don't have to reslice just change it right on the display. hands down the best UI I have EVER seen on a resin machine!

Question:	What version is the board
Answer:	The newest version of the board is 1.1.5, it does not come with the printer though. Mine came with 1.1.4 which is very similar to the 1.1.3. Creality Sells the 1.1.5 separately right now as the Creality v1.1.5 Silent Main Board. It is $50 bucks and you might find it cheaper but it is a worthwhile upgrade. It has newer stepper drivers that make the stepper motors virtually silent. I can't hear them anymore only the fans now. The board also has thermal runaway enabled and has a boot loader preinstalled so if you wanted to switch to Vanilla Marlin or the TH3D software you could do so very easily. Installing this board and the TH3D software also made adding a BL Touch kit easy.

Question:	What is the physical footprint of this unit
Answer:	The actual base footprint itself requires a flat 12" x 12" surface, however certain parts such as the display panel overhang requiring a bit more space. A roughly 16" wide by about 20" deep space should be about right, although you will want to make sure both the back and front have an additional few inches to spare as the bed does move back and forth during operation. I mount mine on top of a 16" x 18" patio paver block for support and stability. I place the paver block over some dense foam that is cut about 1" in from the block edge (14" x 16"). This gives the printer a platform that helps contribute mass to absorb vibrations as well as offer a bid of noise reduction cause by sound transmission through the base. Placed a few inches from the back wall it also ensures the printer travel area remains clear. There is also YouTube video on using this technique if interested (not mine but I came across it after I came up with the same idea separately).

Answer:	It does come with a very old version of Cura. The lastest version of Cura is what I am using. Just download it from https://ultimaker.com/en/products/ultimaker-cura-software/list. If all you are doing is downloading models and printing this is all you need. If you want to make your own 3D models that complicates things. There are many, many 3d modeling programs and which one to use is a very personal choice and each takes time to learn to use. Blender is free, Sketch-up is also I think. But there are commercial programs that can cost up to a couple of thousand to use. Zbrush, Studio Max, and others. Answer:	This is the original Photon, not the Photon S. Difference between the two...Photon S has a dual lead screw for the Z axis while the Photon is single, Photon's outer case is made from metal, Photon S is plastic (door is somewhat flimsy as a result). For the difference in price, you are better off getting the Photon. You can always get the dual-leadscrew conversion kit later on, if you want to. But print quality is no different to the naked eye.
Question:	i was going to get this printer, and saw mention of a dual-leadscrew conversion kit, where might I find that
Answer:	I have yet found a resin to upgrade to the dual screw setup....I would say my most used photon has close to 5000 hours of print time and has not failed. But many print supply places carry the parts to upgrade it

Question:	Does it make a lot / constant noise when it is working
Answer:	There is noise from the build plate going up and down every few seconds. There are bidders on line you can find to hear it. It’s not super noisy. Be aware there are fumes off the resin, not while the lid is on but when you remove the model. Some resins are worse than others.
Question:	do these ship with a metal vat yet
Answer:	Yes. Mine came with a black metal vat.
Question:	What are the maximum product dimensions this printer is capable of producing
Answer:	4.6” X 2.7” X 5.1” max. Print volume
Question:	Does this come with aluminium resin vat as standard or do we have to buy it separately
Answer:	Originally it was sold with a plastic resin vat. The company has since started shipping with aluminium. I paid around $230 for the printer and it came with a plastic vat. The company has since replaced that vat for me with the aluminium one. If you are paying more than $230 for the printer, I would assume then that it is being shipped with the aluminium vat.

Answer:	I have used only water washable resin for my own ease of not having to buy IPA. I believe any 3d resin will work, just depends on the purpose of the use.

Question:	Would you recommend this for me being a beginner
Answer:	Yes I would. Buy standard opaque Resins first. Look to find $19 or less per 500ml or $37 for 1 liter. I have great luck with elegoo and no odor in our family room. Clean parts with 70%+ IPA or cheap paint Dept miracle cleaner for $5 a gal. Sharp details and if you don’t want to buy a UV light at 405nm wavelength then sit it in the direct sun for an hour or so. It will be fine. Also download Chitubox for the free slicer to try out to see if you get it and watch videos.
Question:	How many hours can the lcd last? how long does one fep sheet last
Answer:	It can go on for 10-20 prints sessions easily or more if you don't scrape it with anything. Remember to push the messed up and stuck prints from the backside of the FEP with a clean finger and nothing abrasive (even microcloths can scratch). I bought a 6 or 8 pack for around $20 and replacement is easy.
Question:	Are there replacement lcd screens available
Answer:	Its likely a DXQ608-X04 screen. Thats the 6.08 inch mono screen being used in 3d printers now. They can be purchased directly from chitusystems.

Answer:	Yes it is very easy but order extra FEP sheets. Some have them 8 for less than $26. Buy simple resins to start. Use alcohol or even a cheap $5 gallon of those miracle cleaners in the paint departments work. Wear gloves. The smell is not bad when covered. I have no idea why anyone would want one with a fan / filter. Just more costs. I print in the family living room with no smell at all. You can download Chitubox for free and try the slicer. I love mine and the detail with normal UV resin is astounding.

Question:	How far does the resin go? we will use this mainly for printing tabletop miniatures for d&d. so
Answer:	I also got mine for D&D and wargaming miniature printing. The 250ml starting resin lasts quite a bit for that type of work, I've printed over a dozen figures (28mm, D&D 5E 'medium' size rating) and still have just about half the bottle left. The photon slicer doesn't have any options for hollowing a model so larger creatures (ogres, giants, dragons) will consume exponentially more resin as it prints them solid. Manually adding hollow spaces in a third party modelling program would fix that though is a bit of a pain.
Question:	Do you need to have a UV Lamp to cure the finished product after printing
Answer:	Maybe not a lamp, but a larger source of UV light is pretty much required to completely harden the resin. Otherwise the printed part will remain relatively soft and fragile until it cures. I personally bought a cheap $15-20 UV flashlight and cure my prints with it after I clean them off with some rubbing alcohol. But if you already have the printer and need to cure a printed part, a minute or two in direct sunlight works just fine.
Question:	What's the difference between the Orange & Blue glass
Answer:	Recent order came with orange covers. The debate is blue does nothing to protect the print and resin from UV light. Kind of a mute point, as you can simply cover the unit with a bath towel while in use or not in use. Don't cover the air vents though. My printer sits in a window sill, covered with towel, and 3 weeks later, the resin is still the same viscosity and prints phenomenaly on a daily basis. Once you get the machine settings dialed in for your resin/models, it really is a set and forget thing. Clean up is. Or nearly as bad as users claim. It requires such minimal effort, you would have to be lazy as hell, to think resin printing is too messy, or too much work. It does require a solid station for clean up, and curing, to achieve failproof results. Figure you will spend $100-150 extra on these items, after the purchase of printer. These items include, two small sealed cleaning tanks, 91-99% IPA, Ultrasonic cleaner (jewelry cleaner), and some sort of UV curing setup (nail curing stations). Pack of shop paper towels, and some nitrile gloves. All items can be found right here on Amazon.
Question:	Would this unit work well for making minatures for rpgs like dungeon and dragons
Answer:	Yes, this is exactly what I am using the printer for, small board game minis and components. Just be aware that its almost, but not quite plud-and-play. You will need to experiment and tinker a little bit to get everything working like it should. Once you get some good settings and proper supports this printer cant be beat for the price.
