Answer:	I don't see why not. The Braava uses so little water, even on the dampest mode, I doubt it would do any harm.

Answer:	It has a lighthouse mode that you can use to create an invisible wall and is also supposed to detect if it goes onto carpet and then turn around, but I have caught mine going off-roading a few times and deciding to leave the kitchen to wander into my living room. I know it happens near the end of its cleaning session in the kitchen so I keep a closer watch at that point.
Question:	Will it clean dried pet urine
Answer:	No — this machine does not “clean” effectively — as other have said, it will simply end up pushing the urine all around this leaving your floor dirtier than it was before. The Roomba is a good machine but this is just garbage.
Question:	Will it run on a schedule? Or start automatically on a schedule? Will it return to its charging station on its own
Answer:	Ignore these two users. If you use the app on your phone you can schedule the robot to perform specific tasks throughout the week, although you will need to make sure you install the correct pad for sweeping or for mopping, and then make sure the tank is filled before you attempt to mop. And it will automatically return to its own charging station, which it does in fact have.

Answer:	So far I'm not getting any wheel marks that show after the floor is completely dry. The M6 cleans my entire downstairs, including the kitchen, which is about 1300 sqft of dark hardwood. I'm using pre-mixed Bona and washable/reusable pads. We have 3 little kids and 2 dogs, so this mop runs about every 2-3 days and Roomba runs every night.

Preface

My very first real chef job in the early 1990s was in a charming little restaurant located in an old farmhouse on a rural highway in Ontario, Canada. I was the “morning and lunch chef,” and my job included baking all the bread, rolls, and desserts for service. This meant arriving at 4 a.m. five days a week and working solo until the rest of the staff meandered in at 9:30 a.m. I required all that extra time because I kneaded all the dough by hand—and that takes a long time. So, I gathered my ingredients, put a suitably rocking ’80s song on the boom box, and got to work. I can tell you that kneading bread dough is hard work—and excellent therapy if your life isn’t going well. You push and pummel, using every muscle in your shoulders, arms, forearms, and fingers to get the perfect texture. When you stretch it between your fingers, it is translucent. This is called the windowpane test, although at the time I didn’t know it had a name.

Bread Demystified

Let’s consider the term “artisan bread.” There is no real definition or regulation in a culinary sense of what “artisan” means, just a vague idea of what people think it should mean. For some, the term signifies strict ingredients and procedures. Serious artisan bread bakers might use only four ingredients—flour, water, salt, and yeast and not ordinary yeast or flour, only wild yeast (page 27) and hand-milled flours. Then, the bread is baked in a handmade oven or specialty oven of some sort to mimic ancient techniques. The commitment to this version of “artisan” is commendable and the bread produced is unique, but for most home bakers, this process is not feasible.

All About Bread

When you pick up a loaf of store-bought bread in its paper or plastic packaging, you might not realize the process that goes into its creation. Bread requires planning, time, and patience as well as chemical and biological reactions to produce a lovely tempting loaf. Every step has a purpose and skipping any one can mean disappointment in the end. Understanding the breadmaking process will give you an appreciation for the effort required to produce perfect loaves consistently. Some of these steps will occur in the bread machine, but many happen after removing the dough from the buckets.

Traditional Loaves

For the sake of comprehensive information, the process described here will be for creating bread from start to finish in the machine, even though for the purposes of this book, most recipes use only the dough program. Generally, a bread machine does similar tasks to what a person making bread would do— without all the mixing, kneading, and mess. The only thought that has to go into a loaf of bread made entirely in the machine is the amount and order of ingredients. Follow the recipes carefully, or the manufacturer’s recommended order of ingredients, for best results. For example, don’t mix yeast with salt in the liquid ingredients, or your results will not be as intended (or expected!).

Classic Crusty Loaves

Do not let the length of this recipe scare you; the results are worth it. Baking perfect baguettes is a culinary triumph that seasoned chefs work to achieve. The trick to creating the signature baguette shape is in the folding, pressing the dough hard to seal it together and creating the overlapping dough that opens up when baked. If the dough shrinks too much when you are rolling it into cylinders, let it rest for a few minutes to let the gluten relax and try again.

Sourdough Breads

I did not attempt to make bagels until I had about five years as a professional chef under my belt, and I regret waiting that long. For some reason, this bread intimidated me with its forming, rising, boiling, topping, and baking. Little did I know how simple the process really is once you know how to do it. Take the time to read the steps before starting (you should do this with any recipe) so you understand the timing and techniques. Soon, you will have trays of bagels rising all over your kitchen, and you will never buy a bagel again.

Sweet Breads

Brioche is a charming tender-crumbed bread whose name sounds like something enjoyed on a warm spring day sitting on a French patio sipping le chocolat chaud or rich coffee. Brioche is an enriched bread, packed with butter and eggs, so it has a lovely golden hue and spectacular slightly sweet taste. If you do not have time, you can make this bread entirely in the bread machine, omit the egg wash ingredients and set the machine to Basic and Light crust.

Flatbreads, Rolls, and Bagels

Don’t confuse these crisp breadsticks with the awful packaged dryas-dust ones that sometimes show up in restaurants. Grissini is more like the crisp edges of a perfectly baked pizza without the toppings. Serve them alongside a tasty dip or on an antipasto platter to impress guests and family. You can sprinkle them with dried herbs or Parmesan cheese instead of sesame seeds for a different flavor.

Seed, Nut, and Fruit Breads

Barmbrack comes from the Irish bairín breac: Bairín means a loaf and breac means speckled (here, raisins), so, a speckled loaf. This is one of my favorite breads. The scent of the rising dough is enough to draw others into the kitchen for a peek! When testing bread recipes, I often make the bread; test the texture, color, and taste; then discard the loaf because no one needs twenty deliciously warm loaves of bread in the house. But, this bread was consumed down to the last crumb by my teenage boys and husband—and one of them doesn’t even like raisin bread.

Herb Breads, Cheese Breads, and Other Flavored Breads

There is some truly spectacular bread in this book for your baking adventures, but this unassuming loaf is one of my absolute favorites. As a chef, I have an obsession with herbs—both their culinary and medicinal applications. So, a sweet, buttery, tender loaf of bread brimming with the taste and scent of herbs is perfection. I like using thyme, basil, and tarragon.

Answer:	I have used Bona hardwood floor cleaner on our oak floors with the 240. A few drops of the concentrate in the tank or 3 sprays of the ready to use formula in the tank work great.

Answer:	The Braava Jet 240 was initially designed to use plain water in conjunction with disposable pads that have an embedded water activated cleaning agent. This new solution was designed for the new Braava m6, but was also made to be compatible with the sensitive internal parts of the Braava 240. The Braava Jet 240 has optional washable pads that do not have an embedded cleaning agent, the new Braava Jet Hard Floor Cleaning Solution would be an ideal combination to use with the washable pads to get the best performance.
Question:	how many uses can i get with this bottle. what is the amount i should put on the tank? for the moment i just use water
Answer:	The bottle is 16 oz, which is 2 cups. The M6 takes 6 cap-fulls, which is a pain to measure out, but it's almost exactly a quarter cup if you pour 6 caps into a measuring cup, so just use a measuring cup and you won't spill any and it will be quicker and much easier. So you'll only be able to fill the tank up 8 times with this bottle. It takes me 2 full tanks to clean my entire house on the lowest water setting. So I let it mop once a week and a bottle lasts about a month.

Answer:	I am a Mint user and the rubber on my wheels came off and stretched, and I did not use vinegar. Just a lot of use over the years.You can order the rubber replacements here on amazon and they are better than the other ones, beefier! I am looking to replace one now and thinking of the iRobot Braava 380t Robot Mop. I did learn today from reading that using a wet cloth wrung out with hot water and mild dish soap mops better than the paper wet one.Love my mints, I have two of them and two robot carpet sweeper and love them all.

Answer:	We have steeply pitched cathedral ceilings, about 15' high at the maximum, and our Braava 380t has no problem navigating with the Northstar signal bounced off the ceilings. The bigger problem for us was finding a good spot for the Northstar cube that isn't under a ceiling fan, hanging light fixture, or pot shelf - but we did, and "Bessie" works great.

Answer:	I put up barriers to keep it off my carpeting and roll over the sides of area rugs. The Braava won’t try to get over the rolled size of the area rug.

Answer:	Should be. It's main ingredients are surfactants (akin to soaps) which are used to loosen soil from surfaces and quite safe to flooring (including slate).

Answer:	I'm an engineer with a background in rubbers and plastics, so let me take a stab at this ... Based on the available literature I could find, the iRobot branded cleaning solution is about 98% water. The other listed ingredients are: (1) Sodium octane-1-sulphonate monohydrate, (2) N, N-dimethyldecylamine N-oxide, and (3) Linalool 3,7-Dimethyl-1,6-octadien-3-ol. The first ingredient is an anionic detergent and the second is a surfactant. They combine to make a non-sudsing, degreasing soap. The final ingredient is a fragrance. These are just the basic chemical make-up and I cannot give you the secret iRobot recipe. However, their website specifically mentions to *NOT* use ammonia, bleach, vinegar, and several commercial cleaners. After looking at the inside of a Braava, it's likely due to the rubber used inside (seals, pump, wheels) being incompatible, or those cleaners clogging the nozzle. I doubt you'll kill your Braava if you placed any of these substances in the tank and used it once or even a couple of times. But I wouldn't fill it full of industrial strength bleach and let it sit for a couple months or use it a couple times per week over several then and expect it to function normally. The 330 Series Braava recommended Clorox Ready Mop, which is no longer made and is mostly isopropyl alcohol. So if you really want to try making your own non-sudsing, anion soap with fragrance, take some of your laundry detergent that's about 65% water and dilute it down to 2%. Or you can go to a local retailer who has the iRobot cleaner and purchase it at 1/3 the cost it's listed here.

Answer:	Per I robot there formula is designed not have buildup or clog the unit. They reccomend not using other cleaning products because they do state it can clog the machine. So I would be leery of using other cleaners especially with a machine at its price point
