Question:	Where is the filter? i hope i do not have to buy this for a new machine just received
Answer:	When you tap the button to empty the vacuum you will see an area with an indentation that tells you to "slide to access filter". You slide it forward and lift it out. At the opposite end of the mesh screen, you will see an orange ring (the filter) with a wire handle. It pulls right out. The filter is paper so we vacuum it off with another hand held vacuum. You could probably wipe it down or gently brush it with a soft brush. Would not get it wet! Your vacuum comes with the filter. Do not know if it would be available from Shark separately or not so would use caution when cleaning.

Answer:	It depends on how low the battery got. These are great and convenient but the battery life when used is not terribly long. So could be 2-3 hours maybe. I know I’ve had mine plugged in like that for an hour or so and been surprised the light was still flashing.

Answer:	Theoretically it can, but not easily. I guess it depends on what you’re trying to catch. There is a plastic flap on the inside part of the suctioning access that should ensure unidirectional flow of air, but mine is not super tight around it, so an ant could crawl out, but a fly would have little more difficult time.

Answer:	I would go straight to the source on the black and decker website. I saw many differences listed in the specs on there. This biggest one I think that would make a difference is the suction power and washable filter.

It is the only vacuum that will pick up cat hair on my velour couches because of the strong suction and rotating brushes. It is extremely important to clean the filter to keep the suction strong on both of these handheld vacuums. The filter on this Black and Decker CHV1410L is underneath the green filter cover that twists off. The easiest and most effective way to clean the filters for me is to use a shop vac on them. Of course, any vacuum with a hose attachment would work.
Question:	How many years of use have you gotten before it doesn't stay charged
Answer:	This is the second time I bought this model: 1st time in 2013 and 2nd time in 2016. Both vacuums lasted for 2.5 years before loosing charge quickly. The vacuum was always heavily used (every day, several times a day).
Question:	Is the charging dock a wall hanging "snap in" type
Answer:	My wife didn't want it taking up shelf space, so she hung it from a wall hook ( where our old vac used to hang) and just set the charging disk on the bottom now the top.
