It is important to carefully watch the roti when cooking as the different ingredients, fillings, or components may cause adjustments to be needed for both time and temperature.

Answer:	I have never tried to make a half batch. I have made batches less than a full batch and it worked fine. Breville only wants you to use 3-1/2 cups of liquid so a full batch is only a little over a quart anyway. Most of the recipes in the gelato/ice cream books are just about right for this machine - about 3-1/2 cups of liquid. I suspect most of the machines on the market are about the same.
Question:	Can the ice cream really come out firm on the hardest level? I hate soft serve and like firm scoops
Answer:	It will not be firm like what you have out of your freezer. It will be more like soft serve, you need to put it in your freezer for a bit after it is done. But really, that's the way all ice cream is, even what you get in a creamery. I actually returned this unit and bought a Cuisnart instead. I wasn't pleased with the paddle on this unit. It seemed very flimsy and when the ice cream got thicker had a hard time stirring. At one point it even stopped stirring and burned up the bearings. They replaced it for me at no charge but by that point I had already decided to change brands. If you look at it and compare to the Cuisnart you will see what I mean, the paddle just needs a little reinforcement IMO.
Question:	Hello , I am quiet not able to decide between Breville and Cusinart ICE100, also my concern is does 12 hardness settings actually work as described
Answer:	I love my Breville. The consistency settings range between sorbet, frozen yogurt, gelato, and ice cream (softer to harder). I think the settings work, but I like to make ice cream, so I now just keep it on the hardest setting. That setting will give you the consistency of something near a soft serve. One of the reasons I chose this one over the Cuisinart ICE100 is that it has the "auto" setting. You cannot always gauge how long it will take when using different bases and styles of ice cream (this one has both options). Additionally, you can set it to make a sound when it is time for mix-ins and when it is ready. Also, it has the "pre-cool" feature (which I love!) that will get the temperature right before adding the mix (I compare it to pre-heating an oven). Finally, the "keep cool" function REALLY comes in handy (if you have used the freezer bowl types, you know that time is of the essence once it is done!) I'm glad I went with this one. P.S. I HIGHLY recommend using Sweet Bliss containers to store your ice cream. They are the best I have found or seen anywhere for storage, and you can write on them w/ a Sharpie. Question:	What exactly is the non-stick surface made of? I see it is pfoa free but that does not tell me what the actual non-stick surface is made of
Answer:	The nonstick surface is PFOA free, but it is not PTFE free. These substances, while both potentially toxic, are different. Note: Many cookware and bakeware manufacturers have switched from PFOA non-stick coatings to PTFE non-stick coatings. People are becoming increasingly aware that PFOA contain compounds that are harmful, but fewer people are aware that PTFE compounds are also harmful. A change from PFOA to PTFE is a change from one harmful compound to another. Shop & Inquiry Note: Always ask if the nonstick coating is both PFOA and PTFE Free, because both of these compounds are carcinogenic when cooking at high temperatures (initiate pre-cancer cells in the body).

Answer:	This maker will make great waffles. It can dial in, and darkness you prefer. The top secret pro tip on perfect waffles is what you do to the eggs. Eggs need to be thoroughly wished prior to Adding other ingredients. The less you risk, the more doughy the waffle center, the more you wisk the more cake-ish the center. The outer crust will be crispy with this maker which ever way you go. Breville food thinkers recipie is a complicated multi bowl conglomeration, taking a bunch of time. I simply put my whole eggs in the blender, whip them for 20-30 seconds, then add all liquids, except oil. I used melted butter instead of oil, so I add it last. After adding liquids, I blend for 10 seconds. Then I add all dry ingredients, flour first. Blend for 5 seconds. Then I add melted butter, and I scrape the sides of the jar to the middle, and blend for about 5 more seconds. Over blending at this point will cause gluten to form, baking chewy waffles. This whole process takes maybe 5 minutes, interestingly, the time it takes to preheat the waffle maker. I can make a batch of batter big enough for 12 waffles in my blendtec with wild side jar. It’s fast and easy enough to do on a work day. Also the batter keeps for about 2 to 3 days.

Answer:	It did not work for me it was very difficult to take off and put on. I had the model listed you are asking about I emailed champion and I found out this one is for the newer model. I returned it.
Question:	Hi, is water tank removable
Answer:	That depends on the grain. Harder grains like wheat take a little longer. Millet or sorghum take less time. What I have found to be the best way to mill hard grains is to set the stones wide and just crack the grain first. Then I reset the stones to the setting I want my flour to be and run it through again. It takes about 1/2 the time to do it this way in my experience. If I set the stones narrow right off it can take up to 1/2 hour to mill 3-5# of grain. It's more work the way I've described, but if you're like me, time is money! :-)

Question:	Anyone else with the machine can comment about the temperature of the brewing you get? i am getting 150 to 160 F without coffee in the portafilter
Answer:	you need ground coffee in the filter to accurately check the temp otherwise the water flows right thru it and the temp will cool very quickly. the ground coffee slows the water flow and it makes the coffee hotter since the water sits in the thermo jet longer.
Question:	Does this machine have a dual boiler
Answer:	No. Recently bought this to replace the 870xl which our daughter stole for her new apartment. It’s mice but I think I like the versatility of the 870 better
Question:	Does anyone know where to get a water filter replacement? i don’t see it on amazon or breville site. it’s different from closely related machines
Answer:	They use the fancier name brand Claro Swiss filters with this model. But according to Breville chat support, if you get a different filter holder ($9), then you can use the cheaper BWF100 filters. The holder can be purchased from them here https://www.breville.com/us/en/parts-accessories/parts/sp0014505.html. I am going to try it when my original filter is up for replacement.

Answer:	This is a new higher level machine. The steam wand has been updated to be the same as the Oracle touch, and the touch screen walks you through the steps of making a coffee. The heating mechanism was also updated so water heats up in 3 seconds.

Answer:	I use ceramic, metal, glass, porcelain- all successfully. Holds an 11x14 pan for brownies and casseroles. Full 10" Fluted pie pan, 2 loaf pans when I make bread or meatloaf. Comes with the broiling pan which works GREAT. DO BUY the cutting board that sits on top. Adds usable kitchen counter space, a good cutting board, and you WILL burn yourself on the top of this fantastic oven without it. This is the best small appliance purchase I have bought, and I am very pleased to own the Breville Sous Chef food processor, and the Breville Samrt Grill. All 3 of these are best in class.
Question:	What are the inside demensions Very important that I know this . Breville BOV800XL Smart Oven
Answer:	The oven is 13.5" across, 11.5" front to back and 7.25" high, but only 6" from the top of the rack in its lowest position to the top of the oven. The oven will fit a 9x13 cake pan and a 13" pizza (the back of the oven is rounded out to accomodate a round pan). I recently roasted a 6 pound turkey breast in the oven and I probably couldn't have done one much larger.
Question:	PTFE or PFOA Free? This oven looks fantastic but I don't want stick-free; I want healthy. What's the best alternative
Answer:	I just called Breville and it is NOT PTFE or PFOA free I have a bird so I cannot have cookware or electrics that contain PTFE/PFOA it's hard to get answers, but Breville, Cusinart and Calapholon ALL have their toaster & toaster convection combo ovens contain a non-stick coating with PTFE/PFOA. I'm calling Oster next, but they are closed now for the night.PS: to get an accurate answer on this type of "chemical" technical question, you really have to get to the corporate level not the 800 CS to get the ACTUAL info, many CS's said they were "free" but no one could show me on their websites where that was in writing. That's when each of the above co's got corporate involved, then either I was connected or they returned my call, then gave me the above info.
