The Yamaha NS-IC800 blends seamlessly into your decor
High Sound Quality with a Unique Design
Yamaha's policy of always putting sound quality first, combined with decades of experience in producing fine speakers, ensures that the sound of these speakers is superior to that of many other in-ceiling speakers. The NS-IC800 uses a blue PP (polypropylene) mica cone woofer and fluid-cooled soft-dome swivel tweeter in a coaxial design. The tweeter swivels so it can be aimed for most effective high frequency output.
Magnets make it easy to attach or remove the grille
A unique ridge-shape aluminum center cap with a stepped speaker surround eliminates mid-high frequency peaks, so the sound is delivered smoothly and musically.
The NS-IC800 8-inch speaker is good for 2-channel sound reproduction or home theater use in a living room, dining room, family room or bedroom. The design of these speakers is very practical. They have a noticeable grain-finished acoustic baffle with a spiral pattern which makes the sound disperse naturally. The slim fringe grille becomes almost invisible after installation, so it won't conflict with your interior decor. A sealed back cover protects both speaker unit and crossover from dust and moisture.
Quick and Easy Installation
The paintable grille with magnets makes it easy to attach or remove for quick installation. The large mounting clamp with non-slip tread grips ceilings or walls firmly for sure installation. User questions & answers
Question: | What is the best between ns-iw560c/ns-ic800wh |
Answer: | 800WH. I use them as overhead speakers in my theater room. It's only a 20x18 room and they do very well. |
Question: | Are these speakers good to run music for 12 hours a day at 7 days a week? need to put them into a business. it will be used for music only and not tv |
Answer: | We've used them in our home run them up to 8 hours with no problems. |
Question: | Can these speakers be used as inceilling dolby atmos |
Answer: | They are perfect for your placement/application. I use them as in ceiling Dolby Atmos. I have had them for about 4 months and I am extremely pleased. |
Question: | Is there a noticeable difference in sound between NSIC600WH vs NSIC800WH |
Answer: | As an audio engineer, I can personally tell the difference between the two models. However, to the untrained ear of a casual listener it will be very difficult to notice any difference. This will also differ from person to person as every set of ears and every human brain are just a little bit different. Therefore not every human being is capable of hearing all of the frequencies being omitted from the speakers. That being said, the difference between models is their frequency range. Ask yourself these questions before making a decision :1) Do you commonly notice a difference in the overall sound quality when listening to music on different speakers? 2) Does your listening pleasure diminish when you notice these differences? 3) Are you the kind of person that doesn't mind spending a little more money if you know that you will be getting a better quality product? If you answered yes to these questions, then I would recommend doing as I did and purchasing the 800 model. BTW, if you're "all about that bass" the 800 will also be more appealing as the main difference is the low end frequencies as they always improve with size. I hope this was helpful! Matt. W. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the minimum depth required for these speakers |
Answer: | The minimum depth would be 5 inches. They recommend putting a sheet or fiberglass insulation around the speaker to improve performance so a few extra inches would be nice for that reason. |
Question: | Can anyone please share the exact cutout template dimensions for 6.5”? Thanks |
Answer: | The cutout is 240mm or 9.4". The frame size is 261mm or 10.2". This is the exact measurements taken off the template that is supplied with the speakers. I just installed 4 of these yesterday and am looking at the template as I write this. The person that says it is 9 7/8 inch is 100% wrong. 9.44" is about 9 7/16" so a 16th under a half inch. |
Question: | would you mount 6 of these for a surround sound/stereo pourpose |
Answer: | I have a larger center speaker over tv facing out and four 8'' Pyle speakers in ceiling with a separate subwoofer behind couch. I didn't like the highs on the yamaha's...sounded really tinny...probably because the dual tweeters. Try this link: http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-PDIC80-300-Watt-In-Ceiling-Speaker/dp/B00069QMPC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1379981501&sr=8-1&keywords=pyle+8%27%27+ceiling They are less than the yamaha's and you get a pair. The sound in my opinion if more of a full range natural sound....hope this helps |
Question: | Do they come with the grill/cover/screen |
Answer: | Yes, a white grill cover is provided. It is flush mounted and the grill and frame are paintable |

Question: | Good enough for sole speaker source in living room |
Answer: | Speaker Craft is Excellent but i wouldnt go less then Aim8-3's.. The quality of material in AIM-1 and AIM8-2 are not as good and you can get the 3's for just slightly more! I think if you did it how I did you would be very pleased.. Im really happy how mine turned out!! I did buy the BIC-12" ground unit for the bass but you dont have to get that extreme.. Action movies kick ass though!! |
Question: | If these are in ceiling mount speakers, where is a picture of the cover |
Answer: | Hi Mark, They do come with covers. We're unsure of why Amazon did not include a photo of the cover. |
Question: | Can these be installed in the ceiling before sheet rock goes on in new construction |
Answer: | I think you would be better off if you run your speaker wire either before or during your sheet rock installation if you can and then mark and cut your holes for your speakers. The speakers need to grab on to something as you tighten the screws. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Up to what speaker wire gauge size will fit with these speakers |
Answer: | Speaker wire gauge is trivial. There's so much marketing BS surrounding the subject that almost all of it is a waste of time. You could even use fifty feet of lamp zip cord one one speaker and your ears will NOT be able to tell the difference from three feet of 12 AWG copper on another. If someone even mentions oxygen-free copper or cutting all speaker cables to within an inch of each other, back slowly towards the door. You will find spring clamps that will not even accept 12 AWG wire. |
Question: | I have the sony str-dn1070 mid-level receiver and it is rated for 6 to 8 ohms. will these 4-8 ohm speakers work or should i look for 8 ohm speakers |
Answer: | I actually have a similar Sony receiver. I was surprised how good they sound. I have nothing negative to say about the speakers. |
Question: | any audiophiles out there that have an opinion on how these compare the the much more expensive paradigm CI Home series |
Answer: | They are not going to be equal to a much more expensive, high end speaker, but they are excellent for the money. Where they lack some is low end bass, but most home systems involve a separate subwoofer to provide low end. I have a separate Polk subwoofer to accompany these for my home system and i am overall satisfied. At my office, I have (10) of the 8" Pyle speakers spread throughout and they are perfect for that environment, where I don't need theatre quality sound or intense volume or low end. I am not sure on the specs of the Paradigm Speakers, but know that the Pyle speakers are NOT dual voice coil so they need to be used in pairs. Architecturally, the Paradigm speakers have a cleaner installation, as all you see if grill without a trim ring. The actual installation is almost identical and easy for both new construction and renovation |
Question: | If i get 8 speakers - how many watts does the power amp have to be |
Answer: | You would need at least 250 watts per speaker. Max wattage is 300 watts to 300 watts per channel for each speaker dedicated would be optimal. But a 2400 watt amp in a good grade could be quite pricey. Depends more on what your plan to use the speakers for a booming system or just something that you can listen to around the house. |

Product description
the ns-aw350b 2-way all weather bookshelf speaker is designed for outdoor use, this versatile two-way speaker functions beautifully in front, rear, or both positions. its 6.5" woofer and 1" glass filled dome tweeter set a soundstage that achieves impressive efficiency and dynamic range in any size space. whether the listening occasion calls for a symphony orchestra or battlefield drama, this model can summon either with equal conviction in any two-channel or multi-channel audio system. Warranty - limited warranty - 2 year technical information - driver type - 6.50" polypropylene woofer physical characteristics - form factor - wall mountable
Now you can groove to your favorite tunes, rain or shine. Yamaha's NS-AW350 bookshelf speakers are perfect for deck or porch placement, delivering punchy bass and even, extended treble in just about any desired location. You can bring them in during the cold months and set them up indoors, too: their high build quality and good sound lend them equally well to two-channel indoor listening.
The speakers, which are sold as a pair, each use a 6.5-inch high-compliance, polypropylene, mica-filled woofer and 1-inch PEI dome tweeter. The drivers are optimized for high rigidity but low mass, giving them high sensitivity (87 dB with 2.83V at 1 meter), another way of saying they're easily driven by modest amplifiers. Their acoustic-suspension cabinets are sealed to prevent undue resonance or tubby, tuneless bass, which often results from low-cost ported designs.
With a nominal impedance of 6 ohms, the speakers will work nicely with amplifiers up to 40 watts per channel, nominal, or 130 watts, peak power. They boast a frequency response of 55 to 40,000 Hz (+/-3 dB), giving you reasonably full bass for their size and unusually extended high-frequency response for your most demanding digital media.
The speakers are magnetically shielded, so you can place them on or near a TV or video monitor without fear of picture degradation from their magnetic fields. Five-way binding posts simplify connection with several different terminations of speaker cable (including banana plugs).
While you wouldn't want to leave the speakers exposed on, say, the deck of a boat, they are water resistant and designed to withstand light wind and rain--a benefit of their sealed enclosures and rugged metal grilles. The speakers come with mounting bases and brackets.

Question: | compatible with bose |
Answer: | That is a hard question to answer because I don't know what model of Bose speakers you are referring to. Most speakers for home systems are pretty much compatible with each other so they should be. The way to tell for sure is to look at the resistance or impedance of the speakers and make sure they are the same. Most speakers are 8 ohm impedance and some are 4ohm. 8 Ohm is the most common. It is good to try to make sure all your speakers are the same ohms or impedance. If your main pair is 8ohm I would make sure your next pair are 8 ohm also. I am not even sure what these are they are they are already mounted, but I think they are 8ohm. I would check your Bose though. Sometimes Bose likes to do weird things like make there speakers an uncommon ohm, like 2 ohm or some thing else because they want you to buy their speakers. I have a different pair of Yamaha speakers on my main stereo and Bose also. And they are fine. So they should work. |
Question: | What type of speaker wire is recommended if running over 100 ft |
Answer: | For only pushing 100w, you'll only need to go as big as 16awg for running that far. Make sure you use shielded wiring - not clear coated sliver/copper wire.
