I allowed air space all around the grill just in case but it doesn't even get warm.. my only complaint about this grill is the finish on the sides and the bends in the front handle .. they pitted or rusted the first year... other than that it's been a great value

Answer:	I believe it would be alright for you not to install the side trays. The width would be 30-31 inches. I am not sure if the attachment for the side trays on the grill will stick out a little or not, that is why I say 30-31 inches.

Question:	How much energy does this use per year
Answer:	Not alot ... we use it at our seasonal camping site and our monthly electric bill is very low.
Question:	is it self defrosting
Answer:	We have two in our outside kitchen. One does not have a freezer. The second one does have a freezer and is not self defrosting.I would suggest short time use for that freezer.. We use it for company, filled with Ice Cream Bars, etc. It does good for that.Please allow me to add..It was my mistake with counter install. Should have allowed installers to place it more from directsun. This outdoor product does a great job dealing with the temp. changes in our yard.
