Answer:	I can only presume so as that is something I would not do. I have ground coffee, semi frozen cubed chicken, made Almond butter, with great success, and salsa verde. I ordered the Oster 4937 Mini Jar Accessory which does a fantastic job of pureeing fresh garlic in a Tbsp. of olive oil. I am so delighted with this blender, using it is so futuristic with the pre-programmed buttons which stop the process at the right time, no watching to see if it is working. If a second cycle is needed, no problem press the button and continue prepping other things for the next job. An excellent decision, no more Magic Bullets...the powerful 600-watt, reversing motor alternates the blades forward and backward, drawing food and ice down for consistently smooth blending, a great addition is the small jar (additional piece at ~$9.00) which does the trick for small jobs.

Answer:	I've found that what works with this blender is to blend hard stuff (baby carrots, cut up apple) first on that top-left Frozen Drinks button, add a handful of ice cubes (4-5), blend that on the same button, add the soft stuff (baby spinach), push it down into the middle with a spatula, blend it on the same button, add another handful of ice cubes, blend 2x, add a little water (around 4 oz.), and then blend 3x. It comes out the consistency of soy milk-- silky, smooth, no chunks or applesauce texture, but definitely thicker than water. Using the ice cubes vs just water also lessens the amount of foam at the top.

Answer:	I have a John Oster Mfg. Co. Osterizer, Model 10, made in Milwaukee or Racine, Wisconsin, Serial No. 891211. How can I find out when it was manufactured?

Answer:	This blade fits perfectly and does not leak. I did not see an inscription.
Question:	will this fit my Osterizer 10 speed blender No.869-18S
Answer:	It works very well on my very old 841-J 10 speed. I believe there are only two types of blades for Oster blenders. If the picture matches your blades, the chances are very good it will work OK. Otherwise you can buy it at ACE for $17 and get an easy return (like I did, before I tried Amazon).
Question:	Is this item a genuine Oster replacement part
Answer:	I spoke with Oster on this. If it comes inscribed "Oster" on the part, then it is Oster, if not it is a knock off. the knockoffs will fit but may have non food grade lubricant and less robust seal meaning they will leak some bad stuff into your smoothie or blended drink. Just make sure what you get is etched with "Oster" and if not send it back and insist on shipping costs for false product. there are several sellers here and some maybe selling non oem knockoffs
