Answer:	Hello, I am trained in making Sushi and Sashimi. This Kwizing brand fish scaler is meant for most of the fish that one would use for Sushi and Sashimi especially in Japan. The brass grate is obviously made for non rusting, and the way its designed is for descaling fish and not hurting the flesh just under the scales, most Sashimi and Sushi fish do not have scales as big as a carp and when cleaning fish for S+S the chef must pay careful attention not the hurt the fish skin because remember S+S is about appearance especially. A better descaling tool for carp is a simple inexpensive fish scaler. End note: Carp is eaten in japan but not a whole lot because of the connection the people have to Koi fish (also carp)...
