Unscrew and remove top nut. Lift off top. Pour in peppercorns or sea salt. (Do not use salt crystals in your pepper mill. Salt will corrode the carbon steel pepper grinder mechanism.)

To Adjust

For a fine grind, turn the nut clockwise. For a coarser grind, turn the nut counterclockwise.

To Operate

Turn the top clockwise. Do not turn back and forth.

Answer:	Copper accents. It would cost more for the real thing. And why have the real thing when the copper accents don't tarnish like copper. I have been using the stainless steel accents for over three years and they still look like new.

Answer:	Suggest keeping smaller amount in it and cleaning the grinding mechanism often if as seems the thing is in humid environment. Coarse salt always does that and this is a common problem...why salt grinder is ceramic instead of metal. Metal ones will eventually corrode. We have same (typical) issue but with care, not so much.
